Wake up and enjoy a morning coffee or mimosa on the front porch, a walk on the beach, or a stroll around the private paths of the neighborhood to the Intracoastal Waterway and inlet. This distinctive Holden Beach home offers a private pool and is located directly across from public beach access... the perfect setup for many fond vacation memories! A spacious open floor plan greets you at the entrance with cathedral ceilings, picture windows, a wet bar and well-equipped kitchen. Enjoy four spacious bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a cozy loft with queen, several outdoor areas, an outdoor shower, and a poolside half bath. First floor: • King bedroom, ensuite bath with jacuzzi tub • King bedroom, full bath located in first floor hallway Second floor: • Queen/Queen bedroom, ensuite bath • King bedroom with balcony, full bath located in second floor hallway • Queen bed in very cozy loft The outdoor spaces are a great retreat after a day on the beach. Our rocking chairs invite you to enjoy the views from the covered front porch any time of day. The private swimming pool is overlooked by a wrap-around porch and poolside half bath. The pool can be heated during certain times of year (inquire for more details). An outdoor shower makes rinsing off a breeze. A poolside, built-in brick barbecue and screened-in dining area provide the perfect setup for dining in. This home is located in an oceanfront gated community at the east end of the island. You have access to the beach, inlet, and Intracoastal Waterway using the private paths from within the community as well as public beach access directly across the street. Community amenities include tennis, basketball, and beach volleyball courts, as well as a community pool.

The house was very clean, spacious and located a short walk from the beach. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front of the house looking at the ocean. We were there for a hatching of turtles and got to see one of them make it into the water. There were many shells on the far left side of the beach. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the end of the island where the best shells were. We enjoyed visits to Southport, Wilmington , Calanash , Oak Island and Bald Head Island. We had a very good meal at the Castaway restaurant. The pool was cleaned regularly and was nice to have even though it was too chilly to swim. The ocean on the other hand was warm and enjoyable to walk along the surf. The rooms were all large, the beds comfortable and the kitchen very convenient. We would rent this home again.

This was hands down the most beautiful house we have ever rented. It was clean… decorated beautifully… and the kitchen was so nicely stocked with everything we needed to cook. The pool was delightful and the walk to the beach was super easy and quick. The area was quiet and private which is exactly what we wanted. Communication with the owners was easy and the one small item we needed to be taken care of was taken care quickly. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring a fan with you…. The two bedrooms downstairs got really warm overnight….
I would highly recommend this home for your next vacation. We are already trying to book this very same place for next year!!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here very much. It's an excellent location with lots of privacy and peace. The local food was great - we didn't cook a lot, but the kitchen seemed well-stocked and we used the charcoal grill out back once. We really enjoyed the deck spaces and the pool.
The few minor hiccups we experienced were dealt with quickly by the owners. Overall would recommend!!

There was plenty of room for our family of 6- everyone had their own space and beautiful open concept living/dining/kitchen. Several eating options inside and all the deck areas. We would definitely stay here again!

From start to finish, truly a wonderful experience. The home is beautiful, well stocked, charming, amazing. The pool is perfect, heated as agreed upon, a polite pool crew cleaned twice in our week-long stay. With just a short walk to the beach, this home provided paradise! We rocked on the front porch at sunrise, and enjoyed sunsets from the pool. The check-in process was the easiest I’ve ever experienced, and the homeowner was so accommodating from booking and throughout our stay. Our 6-year-old said he hopes we can stay in this home again and we all agree! We have had many other vacation stays that brought challenges. This beautiful home and host provided everything we could have ever hoped for, making it an incredibly beautiful vacation! Highly recommend!

House in perfect location. Steps to the beach and if you’re tired of beach take a dip in the pool. We also enjoyed an early morning coffee on the front porch watching the sunrise. Highly recommend!!

Worked perfectly for our group of six adults and six kids under 8. Pool was warm, clean, and just spacious enough for all the kids and a couple of adults. House had all of the amenities needed. Big kitchen with multiple options for eating areas worked well for us. Beautiful views from the wrap-around deck ensured a comfortable sitting area anytime of day. Beach is less than a 2 minute walk, so very easy and convenient access. One of the more under-rated pieces was the access to gated community amenities. We enjoyed tennis, pickleball, basketball, and the community pool as well, and generally had them all to ourselves. Lastly, Courtney and Matthew were very easy to work with, providing clear and regular communication, which really simplified trip planning. Couldn't have been better :)

Over the years we have stayed in many VRBO rentals but we unanimously decided this was our favorite. The kitchen was even better stocked than my kitchen at home. The men loved fishing and we spent countless hours in the beautiful pool. When rain and lack of sun left the pool very chilly, we called the owners and arranged to have it heated, and someone came very quickly. It made such a difference, especially for our four month old granddaughter, who loved the water. The location is perfect.
We can't wait to come back next year!

Our family retreat at 107 Dunescape Drive was delightful! The open design of the Kitchen, dining, and great room allowed our family ample open space to prepare meals and at the same time
enjoy the play and chatter of all. Bedrooms, baths, and storage space were more than ample! We spent much time on the lovely front porch overlooking the the ocean, and enjoying the early rays of the morning!
The pool was a welcome respite after time in the ocean and pool maintenance was excellent! Communication between the owners and us could not have been better!
This was a week to remember!Thank you for our retreat!

The house was beautiful & comfortable!! Amenities were well thought out & we had everything we needed, even a Keurig (I usually take my own). It is fantastic to have the ocean & a pool. We would love to come back to this house again.

Perfect location & house
First time to Holden beach and couldn’t be happier with the house we chose. Short walking distance to beach even with 2 infants in tow. House provided EVERYTHING we needed for the beach. Having a gorgeous pool as an option is a big plus!! It is a well kept clean house with all the kitchen amenities provided to be able to cook or grill all your meals. Great communication with the owner throughout the process. The men in our group also golfed at 3 nice courses in the area. Our favorite pastime was relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch after dinner!!

This house was perfect for our family of 9. Spacious,, kids (and adults) enjoyed the pool, easy access to the beach, and loved the panoramic views! Courtney is very responsive. Highly recommend!

The layout of this house is fantastic with multiple areas and more than enough space or everyone. The pool is wonderful - and very kid friendly. We had a great time and would highly recommend this house.

East side of Holden Beach
We found the East side of Holden Beach much more secluded and quiet, which we enjoyed. The property was across the street from the beach, but with beach access directly across, it was an easy walk. The October weather was beautiful and with the house on a little rise, it afforded a great sunrise view. Because the house is near undeveloped property, we encountered quite a few bugs, lizards, and frogs, but this is to be expected at the beach! We would recommend this house.

There is plenty room for family to spread out and relax. The poolside porch and screened in porch are perfect for morning coffee with plenty of seating. The front porch is great for happy hour! Kitchen is well equipped.
The neighborhood amenities are a huge plus with access to tennis, basketball, volleyball, nature trails and a pool.
Deer, hawks, tree frogs and coyotes for the nature lovers.
Courtney and Matthew are great to work with. I love the new keyless entry.
I could go on and on about how much we love Southern Comfort and Holden Beach.

We have stayed at Southern Comfort many times. We consider it our 'Home at Holden.' Super clean home.
There is plenty room for family to spread out and relax. The poolside porch and screened in porch are perfect for morning coffee with plenty of seating. The front porch is great for happy hour! Kitchen is well equipped.
The neighborhood amenities are a huge plus with access to tennis, basketball, volleyball, nature trails and a pool.
Deer, hawks, tree frogs and coyotes for the nature lovers.
Courtney and Matthew are great to work with. I love the new keyless entry.
I could go on and on about how much we love Southern Comfort and Holden Beach.

A fantastic getaway
Great house with easy access to a very nice and quiet stretch of beach. We enjoyed how private the pool is compared to others we've seen. Great communication with the property owners made for a seamless and enjoyable experience.

The home was very spacious and comfortable as the 8 of us never felt cramped for space and had plenty of room.
Comfortably would accommodate 12 guests.
The beds and furnishings were all very comfortable and the only suggestion we would make is to consider updating the sofas in the main living area.
There was an ample supply of kitchenware and utensils. We brought our own beach chairs and umbrellas, but was pleasantly surprised to see plenty of beach chairs, toys and games available and the provided beach cart made it very easy transporting our things back and forth from the beach..
The beach area was great and not overcrowded at all. The general public did not occupy this section of the beach as there was no public parking available.
Lastly, the community center was also very nice and well maintained. A little long to walk, but just a short drive from the house. And the driveway easily accommodated our 3 vehicles.
Overall, 5 stars. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we will be looking to rebook for a future vacation.
