Nestled in Avon, this lovely house for $159 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Three Sheets to the Wind is a perfect place for a Hatteras Island vacation. Three Sheets is nestled into a beautiful, natural, dune-top location on a quiet street in Kinnakeet Shores. The ground level has ample parking, a gas grill, and a private beach walkway. The first living level has four bedrooms (main with private bath), a hall bath, and a laundry room with a private washer/dryer. Vacationers will lose themselves in the large second-level great room with expansive cathedral ceilings, exposed cedar beams, window benches, and a room-top reading nook. An additional third bathroom plus a well-thought-out design will allow for entertaining a good vacation crowd. The open, well-equipped kitchen is readily accessible to the oceanfront dining area. The six-person hot tub is located outside on the mid-level deck overlooking the ocean with views to the west for spectacular sunsets. The third level bedroom with a private deck has a bird's eye view of the ocean and sound. Three Sheets catches the best Avon has to offer. Things to know: You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement. Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather. This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 5 vehicles. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This home is a great value for a beach front property. While this home isn't updated, it works perfectly for the small amount my family was in the home. So if you are booking understand the bathrooms are dated. But everything inside the home functions. Couldn't get the propane grill to work, but the charcoal one was perfect. What I wasn't pleased about was Vacasa. My family reunion was scheduled a year and half ahead of time when the beach nourishment project was not scheduled to be in front of this house. The scheduled was changed and unfortunately I lost my beach access and had lights and noises nonstop for 5 days. Vacasa never notified me of any changes and would not offer anything to alleviate the premium paid for beach access. I have decided not to book with Vacasa again but now that the nourishment is done I do recommend this house. You will have plenty of beach for your family.

Grammy and Grandpa took 3 grandchildren to OBX. After much research we chose 3 sheets to the wind. There is some truth in all the negative observations. In spite of that, due to the location, we would recommend this rental to anyone. If we get to return to OBX I hope to rent this property again.

We enjoyed the house and especially the oceanfront location! The hot tub was wonderful, the kitchen is well stocked, and the porches looked out at the ocean were lovely. Everything was comfortable.
It would be nice if they'd fix the hot tub cover and the toilet paper holder in the downstairs middle bathroom.
We would stay there again.

House was okay for an older home but the prior renters didn’t put out trash for pickup and maggots in the trash along with a dead animal smell. House had crumbs receipts from prior renters , burnt food on stove top along with I picked up over 4 gallon bag of trash outside.

What a great location! Easy walkway out to the beautiful beaches from this ocean front house. Also very close to the pier and walking distance to grocery store, markets and restaurants. Views from the decks are spectacular. Kitchen very usable and comfortable sleeping.

Slightly dated, but enjoyable
The bathroom on the main living floor needs some TLC. My wife and I stayed in the lovely loft and that was our main bathroom. Some peeling drywall and old dingy shower controls. But useable.
Lots of OLD electronics in the main living area. I donated a fiber optic cable so that the stereo system provided better sound for our movies and TV.
The biggest negative was the state of the home when we arrived. The cleaning crew needed more time and vacasa was polite and generous because of the late entry. While that was highly appreciated, we still expected a somewhat clean house. I think all they did was put sheets on the beds. Maybe our expectations are too high. Food on the steps, vacuumed 4 to 5 cups of sand out of the carpet. So doubt they vacuumed at all. Sand on a bedspread too. Doubt anyone has cleaned the ladder nook in a long time. There will be sand everywhere. Parking area is sand. So sand comes in easily.
Oh, and there was no screened area of hammock like the pictures showed.
Once we got passed all that, we had a great time. Great views of the beach. Nice hot tub. AC works really well.

When you arrive at the location, you are greeted by the beautiful scene. Ocean front!! The house is massive from the outside but set up very comfortably inside. The wall of windows on the second level showcased the ocean. The house has everything you need and has all the supply’s You will ever need in a rental kitchen.
The floors had just been steam cleaned and a tad wet when we arrived, the hot tub was empty and being refilled by the staff. They have a linen service bring clean stuff and take out the used. *NO* bugs in the house at all!! Very impressive.

the hot tub top was broken, very difficult opening and closing the tub. Still usable. I emailed but no one responded.
The hot tub jets need work, a few didn’t operate at all.
The bathrooms need a upgrade. A little paint goes a long way! Replace the master bath toilet.

This is a dated home but it was clean and had everything we needed. It’s not a hotel, so things will go wrong. It’s worth it!! The ocean and outside decks are impressive!!! I will definitely rent again!!!

the house was large, had everything we needed. Great area on the beach, lots of windows with ocean views, the house and listing was as described, big, clean house. We enjoyed our stay very much and would come here again.

We had the best week! Great house, great location. The house could have been cleaner and the property definately needs more than one trash barrel. That being said, everything else was fabulous and we can’t wait to go back to three sheets to the wind next year!!

We loved the location and so much about the house. But there were unsafe things that caused us worry and harm. The banister was not safe, some of the rungs were out in more than one place making a gap, the floor at a doorway had a screw sticking up and my daughter cut her foot which affected the rest of her vacation. When they came to fix it, they ended it by putting duct tape along the floor connection of the room/hallway-unprofessional. The outside steps had nailes sticking up multiple places. The hottub did not keep the heat once opened, was reported right away, didn't come for days, then the first guy didn't fix it, had to report again, by our last night there a 2nd guy came and fixed it completely but we were very disappointed since this was a big feature of this. Some old glass was not swept up and cleaned and my foot got a tiny piece of glass stuck on the bottom. These things, combined made a stressful stay. The management company was very responsive, I just don't think they knew what was going on at this house. Also, there were cobwebs in the house and the downstairs bedrooms were hot and did not have ceiling fans. But, even with all of this we had a very nice family reunion. The view and decks were wonderful and the nice open Living Room was neat, as well as the loft.

This property is beautiful. Location on the beach and in the town for conveniences is perfect. We could walk to the grocery store and to local restaurants.
There were very few trivial negatives. Under the house was not cleaned up. Boards from building walkway to beach were laying around. Chairs and knee boards were scattered. The house itself was clean except for the vents and light fixtures were quite dusty. When it came time to check out you are required to call from the house phone to the rental agency. The house phones were not connected.
Everyone in our party are already talking about coming back next year.
