Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located within the gates of Yosemite National Park in the tiny community of Foresta. It is hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful place like this exists just fifteen minutes from the sometimes bustling Yosemite Valley. NOTE – This listing is for the Sage Cabin. The listing and availability calendar for the Lupin Cabin is also on VRBO/HomeAway under property number 115073. Both cabins are on the same property, have the same floor plan, and are furnished almost identically. Our cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin Cabins are located next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. There is also a foldout sofa bed that is the size of a full mattress. The cabin has a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items. Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins. Unfortunately no pets or dogs are allowed. Yosemite is not very dog friendly. You won't be able to take your dog with you on hikes. Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. The TV has no programming, DVD only. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies. The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker. The cabins are heated in the winter by propane heaters that look like wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have evaporative coolers that work great to keep the cabins cool during the summer. Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay. There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU. We've stayed here several times, it's perfect for us, small and very livable for a family of four. I'd stay here again.

This is our second winter stay at Hilltop Cabins. The draw for us is the location, affordability, and comfortable king-sized bed. The accommodations are simple and need updating but are entirely sufficient for a couple who spends most of the day outdoors; the cabin is clean, the neighborhood is quiet, and the neighbors are friendly. The host is easily reached and quickly responds to messages. There's a lovely sunset walk to a nearby waterfall. Across Oak Flat Road is Old Big Oak Flat Road trailhead; a peaceful four-mile hike to Yosemite's first paved road--now abandoned--and a 17-mile hike to Yosemite Falls. The valley is close and Hetch Hetchy is an hour away. We love the winter season here.

Sage cabin is in a lovely and peaceful remote area inside Yosemite! It is the perfect place to enjoy the park and get away from the crowds. Comfy king bed and well equipped kitchen and bath. Loved watching the stars at night and having coffee on the covered patio in the morning.

We loved our stay here! Was perfect being in YNP and so close to the valley, yet far enough away to feel secluded. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Comfy King size bed and nice hot shower. Highly recommend!

Overall the stay was good, location is central to a lot of tourist attractions in the park. The cabin was clean and had cooking supplies. The check out process was a bit confusing as the maid was frustrated with us putting all linens outside as instructed. Recommend changing the verbiage on the check out linen process.

We spend an amazing 4 nights at Sage cabin. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location while still being really convenient for Yosemite valley trails. The size of the cabin was perfect for our family on 3 and our son (aged 17!) spent a lot of time chilling up in the reading loft. The outdoor patio was spacious and very private and we grilled every night on the gas bbq. I would recommend this property (or the one next door) to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway within the park!

We loved our home in the woods. The area is so peaceful and quiet which made it an awesome escape from the valley floor chaos. Steve was amazingly helpful and his response was immediate always. The place was extremely clean, classy and had everything we needed. I will definitely visit again!

My partner and I stayed in the Sage cabin for a few nights and spent 2 days hiking and exploring Yosemite. It has a super comfy king sized bed and plenty of space to relax and full kitchen to cook dinner after a day of adventures. We travelled from overseas and initially didn’t know much about how busy the traffic can get in Yosemite during summer, so we were happy to discover that the cabin is actually just inside the national park. This meant that on the morning of our hike we didn’t have to queue at the ranger booth, and it was only a 30min drive to Yosemite valley and we were able to find a park easily. This makes the cabin a great option for anyone wanting to do a day hike. Foresta is a peaceful location and the cabin has lovely aspen trees planted near the front door. Would recommend!

We had a great stay at the Sage Cabin. It was clean, easy to find using google maps GPS, and easy check in. The best part was it’s proximity to Yosemite Valley. Close enough where it was easy to go out hiking in the morning, head back for lunch, and back out for the afternoon.

We stayed here for a week while exploring Yosemite, it was about 20-25 minutes to get to the Village store and most trailheads which wasn’t bad. The biggest time saver is being inside the gates, you really can’t get lodging any closer unless you stay in a campground. Had everything we needed for cooking. Doesn’t have any spectacular views, but it is close to a stream and waterfall that you can hike to. The stream has a nice place to hang out as well if you just want a day to rest but need to stay cool. I would stay here again.

Wonderful location and cabin. Great place to stay especially as we had family in the adjacent cabin staying too!

It was a great location if you want to be inside the park but not in the busyness of the main attractions. Very comfortable accommodations and quiet The host is great about answering questions.. Do be prepared to drive a few miles on an unpaved road.

Right inside yosemite so you dont get stuck in HOURS of traffic trying to get in everyday!

This is the second year in a row we've stayed in the Sage cabin. I love how close it is to the Valley, while also far enough away to give us a quiet place to relax after a day of exploring. The space is comfortable and my twin boys love hanging out in the loft while I get ready for the day or prepare dinner. Steve is a very responsive and helpful host. Highly recommend this for couples, or families with young children.

Sage Cabin is a wonderful place to call home for a few days when visiting Yosemite NP. It’s cozy, quiet, very clean and has everything we need to make a good dinner at the end of the day, of course, we need to bring our own groceries with us. Otherwise, the kitchen is fully stocked with condiments and utensils. The road from and to the valley is very scenic. We were glad we stayed there so we got the chance to see the gorge and waterfalls along the way everyday. Communication with Steve was very easy and fast. We highly recommend this place.

My husband and I and are 2 adult children shared the cabin. It was small for all of us but, with the loft and sofa bed, we each had our own space, and it was wonderful to have a quiet place to come back to after the Memorial Day weekend crowds in the valley and was only about a 20 min drive away. The kitchen was small, but well furnished and had everything we needed and, we loved eating (or reading or hanging out) out on the deck. It was like our own private refuge in the park.
Steve was a great host and was always quick to respond to questions or concerns or to offer helpful suggestions.
We loved our stay there and would definitely recommend it to to others.

We had a great time. It was a perfect location and was a perfect size for us. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. My kids loved it too.

Easy 20-30 drive into the valley depending upon destination, without waiting at entry booths. Super quiet after park crowds. Great king bed. Grilling on covered patio was great (have to buy groceries ahead of time on the way up)

We really enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Cabins, Sage!! It was conveniently located close to Yosemite valley sites, but away from the crowds and chaos. We felt like we were coming back to a peaceful oasis after enjoying a day seeing the sites. It was close enough for me to go early morning sunrise photography shooting, stop back at the cabin for breakfast and then head on to our days plan of hiking and exploring.
There is a grocery market in the valley, but we stopped at Pioneer Supermarket in Mariposa on our way to Yosemite. It was so nice to have our own full kitchen to prepare meals for dinner and picnic lunches for our hikes.
The cabin is clean, as described in the listing and Steve was always very responsive! We had no issues during our stay. Highly recommend!!

Had to delay our stay because of the snow this year but had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Hilltop Sage Cabin! Hiked around that area thanks to Steve's directions to find a beautiful waterfall and also enjoyed late evenings in the Yosemite Valley watching light change through the evening. Being so close, only 15 minutes and we were back to the cabin before dark. The BEST way to enjoy Yosemite... Hope to return soon!!!

Perfect size for two; cozy. Has all the essentials, including all the cooking utensils, pots & pans, linens. The host was kind enough to have soap and shampoo in the shower. Wifi was good. No real cell service, but what do you expect for "glamping?" We loved everything about this place! Oh -- and the host was very communicative, which was very helpful for us!

Outstanding cabin, clean and comfortable. Felt some solitude and great walks down Crane Creek and in the meadow.

Sage Cabin was a welcome retreat from busy Yosemite Valley. This comfy cabin had all the conveniences of home and with quiet and few neighbors. Our host Steve was beyond gracious, doing that extra bit to make our stay ever better. Foresta Falls, a short hike from us, we're raging with Spring runoff, and with scarely a soul in sight. We'll be back!

A nice quiet peaceful scenic setting about 30 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Yosemite and Curry Village. The cabin was perfect with everything you need. Take a short 1hr hike to Foresta Falls which was flowing real fast in April and well worth the hike.

It was the perfect location for the perfect experience in Yosemite. It was close to The Valley and it is a really beautiful cabin. I will come back with my kids for sure!
