About this cabin rental

Free farm fresh eggs during your stay! New Hot Tub! The cottage and hot tub are sanitized between each use according to the BC Centre for Disease Control. All linens and towels are washed on the sanitized cycle. Due to the nature of the terrain, the property is only suited for adults. No pets or smoking on the property please. We provide scent free shower products. This is an intimate cottage on the ocean. You can fish for salmon and halibut, kayak among seals, mountain bike as far as you like, surf , go whale watching or enjoy a quiet evening in the hot tub or in front of the indoor fireplace. We have a 1.2 acre south facing property on Sooke Basin, a protected bay off of the Pacific. It's salt water but you'd think that it was a lake. Calm as a mill pond most days. You'll wake to the sounds of ducks, geese, swans, eagles and snorting seals. We're located in Saseenos which is in a microclimate known to have the sunniest and mildest winters in Canada. The cottage is set on an oceanfront corner of our property, with the main house set further back and on the other side of a fence. Although this is a shared property, you'll have lots of privacy. The cottage is suitable for a maximum of 2 adults. The bedroom has a queen bed. The main room consists of a kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, except food. Coffee and tea are provided. There is a dishwasher. The bathroom has a soaker tub and a separate shower. Linens and towels are provided. There is a new private hot tub on the cottage deck on the ocean side. We have a large 220 foot dock and a smaller deck that you are welcome to utilize. There is a rocky beach when it's low tide. The kayaks and lifejackets are available to use. Lots of charters available nearby if you'd like to go whale watching or fishing. If you like to stay busy, there's lots to do. The Galloping Goose Trail is at the end of our street and is perfect for a morning run, bike ride or hike. The town of Sooke has fabulous restaurants and the nearby beaches are breathtaking. You'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but we're 5 minutes from the town of Sooke where you'll find grocery and liquor stores, Shopper's Drug Mart, banks, Tim Horton's and a variety of other stores/restaurants. Costco and other favorite stores are about 20 minutes away. We're 25 minutes to downtown Victoria. This is truly paradise. The cabin can be used year round. This specific area of Sooke is known to have milder winters and the summers are often warm and sunny.

We had a wonderful stay at Danny & Tami's cottage. Everything you need is there and it was the perfect location for a 4 night getaway. Very peaceful location with a great view from the hot tub. We would not hesitate to stay there again!

We had an awesome relaxing stay at this amazing waterfront cottage, the only problem is our stay was too short! Wish we could stay there longer and we are planning on booking again soon for a longer stay. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and watching the otters and seals from the comfort of the hot tub. The cottage had everything we needed and is exactly as advertised. We met the owner briefly and he was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable if we needed anything or had any questions. Looking forward to our next stay!

The property was just what we were looking for: peaceful, private, beautiful views, excellent accommodation, helpful hosts, and great access to everything that we wanted to do. This was our first visit to Vancouver Island and will not be our last. We were celebrating an anniversary, so wanted more than just a hotel room and Sooke Ocean Retreat was perfect. It is first on our list for a return trip to the Island.

Before arriving we were worried that the cabin might not live up to our expectations, on arrival we were blown away. The cabins position among the trees, overlooking the bay was perfect. Inside it was spotless and everything provided was top quality. We met the owners who were lovely and quickly showed us how everything worked then left us to enjoy our stay. We spent the evenings in the hot tub with a drink or two and the days exploring, kayaking and whale watching. It was bliss. If we ever return to the island we wouldn't hesitate to book again, perfect. Dave and Nat

My partner and I chose this spot for a weekend getaway for our anniversary and it was close to perfect. The guest house is so cute and cozy and the views were amazing. If you’re a fan of wildlife like we are, this is an excellent location. We saw seals, sea lions, otters, bald eagles, herons, kingfishers, and even a hooded nudibranch!!!!! While we were there we drove up to Botanical Beach to go tidepooling and hiked to see the petroglyphs at Aylard Farms, in addition to lounging in the hot tub and kayaking around the property. It was truly a wonderful and romantic getaway.

Exactly as advertised. Quiet, secluded location with ease of access to the Galloping Goose Trail and other Sooke attractions. Exceptional amenities including kayaks, private hot tub with great views, stocked kitchen essentials and provided fresh eggs. Morning coffee's and evening beers on the deck enhance the relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Very attentive property owners if required, otherwise fully respectful of your privacy.
