It's about 60 steps on a shell road to the beach path and just a one-block walk to all the best of the Siesta Village - fresh oysters, seafood, tropical drinks, ice cream, entertainment, and even gourmet donuts. The rooftop has views of Siesta Beach and the Gulf of Mexico with chaise loungers and dining. It's just right for enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, good book, cocktail(s), or an al-fresco meal. The beaches here are the widest on the island, have panoramic views of the gulf to the North-West-and-South, and are the top spot in North America for viewing sunsets. The water is shallow clear and calm with white quartz-sand tide-pools perfect for sleeping drinking or playing. You can swim or “often” wade to Sand Dollar Island, a naturally occurring white sand cay popular with dolphin's sand-dollars and “occasionally” giant-conch.
