Location.
1. F&B was not upto other Taj or equivalent properties. Primarily from the buffet-spread aspect.
2. The water in the 'canals' between the rooms, appeared unclean.
Presumably, both, due to the immediately-post-covid situation. :)

the hospitality was world class. Sandanam the staff in the restaurant took good care of us and ensured that we enjoyed every meal there during our stay. Overall it was a memorable stay. Keep it up Taj Team

Dec 2022We loved the hospitality, especially Ankur made the trip very special. He catered to all our needs and makes incredible soy milk cappuccinos. He made sure we had a great stay. Manoj the executive chef was incredible and Senthil from house keeping made the room very special for our honeymoon stay.

Excellent place to stay in Kumarakom
Apr 2023Well trained staffs , Beautiful big property , Traditional kerala architecture, Nice Outdoor activities, Lake front property, Family and kids friendly, upgraded my room free of cost, Clean swimming pool , superb Spa.
Taste of the food when compared to the price , I will rate as Good .(Not excellent).Its not a big issue. . You can find loads of local restaurants very close to this property. Also the bicycles, my 2 daughters got was not for girls , but for boys. Still my overall experience in this property, I will rate as excellent.

Little far away from city. Local conveyance is bit difficult. To hire taxis of the Hotel is very expensive.

May 2023The staff were friendly and the landscape / flora was very pretty. The historical main building was charming as well.
Mid to junior staff while friendly were found inefficient/lacking in many respects. Given they don't service more than 28 rooms/units were slow to most requests.

Jan 2022The property is well maintained and the rooms although a bit old are well maintained with good air conditioning. The open feel of the Bath area was nice . The small open verandah outside our room facing the small lake within the property was a nice place to lounge all day - would be better if a fan could have been provided in the verandah area as there is a stark difference in temperature when you step out of the air conditioned room to the warm verandah.
The resort had interesting paid activities like Kayaking and Zipllines operated and managed by an external agency ‘Muddy Boots’ with well trained staff who briefed us well and took all necessary precautions to keep us safe. We also enjoyed using the cycles for free for one hour as it is easy to go around the 16 acre property
The room should have powerful torches for guests to use while moving around at night as the paths are not lit brightly and one doesn’t want to be surprised by any creepy crawly on the paths at night.
Choice of food at the buffet was limited and of average quality. The staff at the buffet section needed to be told to replenish the empty dishes and took a lot of time to replenish the dishes available. Some of the dishes were cold and some of the Indian breads like Naan and Rotis were cold and burnt. We heard other guests also complain about the same.
Kind people who made sure all my needs were met and the amazing that carries a story and identity.

There were no additional plug points, some were not usable .
The daily cleaning could have been better eg floor moping etc

the checkin is at 2 pm and check out is by 12 noon. you always want that late check out which you don’t get 😀
Exceeded all expectations
Jun 2021Taj never disappoints. Had a fantabulous experience. Got a private pool villa upgrade for a very small price margin. And a surprise cake for my husband as I had booked the stay as a birthday gift for him. The staff were super courteous and helpful. Beautiful surroundings and ambience. Not a minus point to give. Extremely joyous 💓💓💓
