Oct 2022Views and surrounding areas. Hotel grounds are well maintained.
Inflexible slow staff. That are very pleasant but not much useful. We could not cancel (due to sunburn) 8pm massage at 11am - late.
After day on hotel food and drinks most of our group got sick, some vomiting.

The room wasn’t as nice as I was expecting - next time will pay more for a bigger room.

Actually, the only thing was very poor air conditioner in my room (sundari 3), it was impossible to cool the room down properly.

May 2022The whole resort gave a Pinterest western vibe. The view was amazing especially from the pool. During our entire honeymoon trip we went to 5 different hotel and this had the best English speaking staff. The environment do brings you to peace. In the evening the view is so breath taking.
We had booked the superior villa for 150/night and tbh it was a little bit cramped. Open our luggage was not easy thing todo in the villa.

Aug 2022The two stand out points are the breathtaking views and super friendly staff. The dumplings were also delicious. We also loved all of the responsible tourism policies they have in place, (and only employing from the local village). It makes sense why this place gets such high reviews.
I was surprised by how small the room was (we had the standard room), it wasn’t a big problem as we only stayed one night, but if we’d been staying for a few nights there was limited space to put belongings and move around in.
Also, we found the staff interaction a bit wearing: we were asked three times in 5 minutes “how did you sleep” at breakfast by different staff; and were also asked several times by the pool if we wanted happy hour drinks when we did not. Sometimes people just want a bit of peace and quiet!

The place is very much expensive and the food quality is average. The green towels outside on the sofa do smell. The price doesn't match its expectations.

-The Joglo villa (biggest one) had lots of large bugs (can’t be helped)! It was amazing but doesn’t have that ‘cosy’ feel
-We ordered a fruit bowl with ‘happy anniversary’. It would of been a nice touch if they didn’t charge us for it as other hotels have done nice small things for us in other years when we have travelled for this occasion.
- small menu for room service and pizza cannot be ordered until after 5pm. The food was GREAT but if we stayed there more than 2-3 nights we would of good bored for choice as there are no specials that change and the menu is the same for lunch, room service, and dinner
-This was the 4th hotel we stayed at in Bali and we we wer supposed to be informed they do not have any free yoga classes for guests. Only on Saturdays. The other places we stayed offered at least morning or evening free of charge.

Jul 2022The entire hotel was built overlooking a rice field and we could see it in our bed over the balcony. It was one of the most peaceful and beautiful thing I've ever seen. I felt so relaxed and didn't want it to end. The service at the hotel was impeccable and everyone was so friendly and nice. The hotel has everything you'll ever need and was extremely clean. The decor was tasteful and done with great attention to details.
We ran out of hot water for shower on both nights.
Excellent staff, light and serene design. A place to relax your mind and feed your soul.
Oct 2022The Ananda Spa treatment is such an amazing spa experience. We arrived for the spa ended up booking on the spot to stay at the resort. Props to the design team of this place, every single detail is elegant, light and aesthetic. We did a three hour couple package and probably one of the most relaxing spa treatment we ever had, The Traveler's Rejuvenation. Thank you to the spa team.
The yoga mats was dirty and could use some new replacement. The massage area needs to have its own room and not be in the yoga room. If you have Sundari room, your balcony is right in front of the cabana pool. Not much going on in the reception/bar area. I would add that accoustic would be nice at dining or bar area. Also notice, some dining staff must aware that not just westerners but all walks of life comes to Samanvaya.
Overall an exceptional stay and we would definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to visit again!! Spec

Hardly anything! but if we were to be critical, and just as a potential areas for further improvement would be to sound proof the rooms if at all possible as the villa next door is quite close and we could hear our neighbouring guests coughing all night.

Oct 2019Such a beautiful resort, with a great view and cozy villas. The premises are beautiful, we loved just chilling in front of the villa in one of the many little nests and enjoying the view with a cocktail. Very interesting chakra massage with the village's holy man.
Everything was great until our check out experience. We booked a taxi for 6am and he arrived only at 6:30, even if we had to take a boat for Nusa Penida and were in a hurry. When you pay 400 000 rupiah for a short taxi ride you might expect it to be on time, we could have just get a local taxi for half the price if we knew. It was the most stressful 30mn wait thinking about everything we'll had to rebook because of that if we missed the boat, no information from staff...
Boxed breakfast was also below average, hard to understand when you compare to the breakfast served at the restaurant.
Vegetarian menu is also only 3 options, it would be good to have more for people staying a few nights like us.
