Niraamaya Retreats Backwaters And Beyond

The staff, very courteous and friendly Upgraded my room to luxury pool villa, when complained about the water leakage from A/c .Hats off to Operations Manager Mr. Sasidharan and team.The villa with backwater view was really exceptional.

Lack of iron box.Even though it was provided when requested, would have been better if it was part of the room facilities.

The property is surrounded by lush greenery, the staffs are courteous, rooms are massive. Suggest going with a private pool villa. Special thanks to Mr Mridul the manager who made sure the stay was comfortable.

The outdoor shower needs to be cleaner, Bedding needs improvements as it was attached with two twins which kept moving around.

The property is lush green and the backwater view is breathtaking.

Sunset cruise is not avaialble as an option.

The property is beautiful with lovely landscaping and spacious rooms and bathrooms. The beds were super comfy and wifi was good. The breakfast offered a great spread. From the grounds of the resort, we enjoyed soaking up the sunsets over the backwaters.

Service was a bit late. No buffet and limited or no Keralite sea foods

The buffet breakfast was awesome! Additionally, the bathroom size and the toileteries were wonderful. All the necessary items were provided.

The flush wasn't working properly but this was fixed as soon as the message was passed on to the housekeeping staff. It would be better if the housekeeping staff can check for leakages (one of the taps was leaking) and issues with the flush and get them fixed before the guests arrive.

Rooms with great views of the Lake. Staff is very courteous and helpfull. Overall a great experience.

I booked a Superier Lake View Villa (Base Category Room). The room and balcony were huge and kind of felt emplty. So, the next day we changed to Premium Waterfront Villa with Private Pool and it is just perfect for a family getaway or a honeymoon. I paid the room difference of 6,000Indian Rupees, which was not expected as the resort was at a 20-25% occupany.

Room Size and location

Very limited breakfast spread. The staff is not trained how to talk to customers. The property had requested advance payment which was already done. On arrival they asked for payment confirmation which was duly shared. Even after that during the checkout they kept asking for payment confirmation email as they could not locate the payment records of the same which I found to be quite ridiculous. On confrontation the reception staff says we receive a lot of payments and cannot locate the money without the confirmation email.

The location and view were average. Room was also spacious but could be better maintained. Very average property if they consider it to be 5-star wellness. The staff were also under-qualified in terms of hospitality. Would not recommend anyone to stay there or visit ! They did not guide properly regarding the resort, they kept emphasizing the complimentary things like early check-in ; which is actually not complimentary since the rooms were available. Anyway due to the pandemic the resort was hardly 50% occupied on the day we checked in. Still for the early check-in the staff made it seem as if they did us a great favour. Overall attitude of the staff and the facilities of the resort are average and below average if you want to compare it to 5 star standards. Thoroughly disappointed with the experience. It was a huge waste of money. The spa is something they claim to be world-class and great luxury wellness. Again a big disappointment ! We needed to monitor the time i.e. 60 / 90 minutes which they mentioned as massage time. Also then if they had spent lesser time, they did not accept it. It is quite sad and pathetic that they do not have professional decency to keep up the proper massage time. All the massage towels smell oily, and it is not a clean space to shower and change after the massage. We had told the hotel staff our feedback very frankly and honestly. They also gave us some nominal discount as a compensation for our bad experience. However nobody can replace an experience right? We had spent 4 wonderful days before this at a homestay beach house in Alleppey for hardly INR 2,000 approx per night - but it was a world-class stay with a Super Host! I felt treated better and had a memorable time worth every rupee there, compared to the stay at Niraamaya. Do try out the other resorts nearby i.e. Taj or CGH Earth if you want to stay in Kumarakom. Niraamaya has a long way to go before it can call itself a 5-star let alone luxury or wellness resort !
