What I like about the facilities were that it was very clean!! As soon as we arrived everyone from the security, bellboys receptionist , and the bartenders at the Lobby bar were extremely friendly & welcoming! we also had a Booking.com concierge that would call us to make sure everything was going okay! His name is Antonio Martin.
What I didn’t like about the property was that the selections at the buffet needs to be more fresher! Sometimes the mangu was super dry or old. That also happened with the neat! The selection in general was limited! So at times it was hard to find something to eat! But the specialty restaurants were excellent!! what I noticed about this time the minibar was not refilled with soft drinks after the 1st day. That also happened to my daughter who had a rooftop room.

What a beautiful hotel from the moment you arrived. Staff members are very friendly and helpful and make you feel special. We stayed in the Privilege Junior Suite with Pool view and was amazed with the size of the room (and how beautiful it is) and the view from the room was amazing. Entertainment at the main pool area was good but only limited to certain hours. The restaurants that was open in our short stay were good. We loved the coffee shop and went there a lot !!! Will highly recommend the Spa - the ladies are so friendly and professional - we booked the aroma massage and the ladies done an amazing job - well done!
A few negative points: As soon as you arrived you are bombarded with people to welcome you - thats overwhelming - people want your name where you from an how long you staying - its way to much - just to realize they take all this information and fake friendliness to get you to attend the next morning a Club Share meeting and then the whole entire day of arrival everywhere you walk there are people asking you if its your first day they just want to “quickly talk to you” WE DID NOT LIKE IT!! We were only there for 2 days !! The next concern is there is not enough cleaning staff /waiters around the buffet restaurant - tables weren’t clean after guest finished, there weren’t glasses available for juice or cups to get coffee. There are not enough waiters to provide you with water of coffee and if you ask you wait for a long period. On our second day we only used the Privilege area and service in this area was very limited. No lights are on therefor we did not use it on our first day because no one used this area. The next negative comment will be the lack on cleanliness in the “public bathrooms” - Im sure they only clean it once a day - its unacceptable. The next negative is the lack / non existence of waiters at the pool areas - there are no waiters walking around to provide you with drinks. You have to stand in a line at the pool bar to get a drink where there is only one person to serve you and he is very unhelpful and unfriendly. For the size of the pool area they need more waiters at the bar and people around the pool area. Last complain - there is not enough shade around the pool areas - only 6 umbrellas for 50 chairs - please we need more shade for the sun here in the DR.

We love it!!Very Nice!!
7Don’t go unless you get a Privillage room! Otherwise, you will need to fight for your food.

We had the Roof Top room with the ocean view. It was great, the only highlight of the stay in the Ocean El Faro.
- Don’t go unless you get a Privilege room! You won’t have access to many services in the hotel like book a table in a restaurant, room service, access to some areas in the hotel. For your information, the hotel has three options: general, adults only (although there are children everywhere) and privilege. - Food was the main disappointment (not five start hotel level): limited options, almost always cold and salty. They didn’t refill any food in the buffet (e.g. breakfast was from 7AM to 11AM, all plates were almost empty by 9AM). - The dinner time was always stressful time for us. We didn’t like the main buffet, so other options were to get a room servers or go to one of the restaurants. 1) Room service - you need to pay $16 to get the dinner unless you are Privilege. Wait time between 1-2 hours and always cold food. 2) Restaurants open at 6PM: French (adults only), Italian, Japanese, Steakhouse, American, Mexican and Brazilian (adults only). There was always a line up which started at 5:30PM or earlier. Even if you come early, it doesn’t give you a certainty that you get in. We’ve never got the chance to visit Steakhouse. It was always booked by Privilege guests.
6Resort looks good, overall disappointing experience

We had a rooftop suite, with 2 bathrooms and nice facilities/decor. The lazy river was great, there were several pools and several snack bars. The hotel offers in-house Covid testing (60 USD for PCR tests and 35 for antigen).
- the food was not very good, good variety but tasteless - the beach was unusable - there were mountains of seaweed - the service was bad and unreliable. I spent a long time on the phone trying to book airport transportation, just to be told that the hotel can't arrange it, despite an airport shuttle being listed on booking.com and on their website. We were told to book it at the airport, which was a hassle, since there are tens of companies that work directly with hotel and do not book transportation directly there. Similar story on the way back to the airport - we tried booking it at the hotel, but the operator got defensive when we asked for a receipt on an advance payment and decided to deny us the service alltogether. - we kept being told we were going to get a tour of the property and a welcome gift by employees who were approaching us everyday with questions on our arrival and departure day, asking for our name and room number: every single day. That was frustrating. - the AC system in our room was very loud and we it was hard to get a good rest. - we did not think the privilege package was worth it. We got access to a separate area in the buffet restaurant and separate check in and out. Other perks included discounts at the spa, preferential table booking (was not offered despite mentioning the "privilege" status, or private lounges - which no one was checking for. We do not recommend this add on. - the waiting time to have our order taken and brought to us at the a la carte restaurant we managed to get into (Margarita) was very long and the food was not better then the buffet. The meal selection was also limited. - it took a long time to walk to the restaurant area from the room (10 min). The are occasional carts driving there, but need to be booked in advance.
8Nice place to stay if you are into average.

We had a penthouse room with the rooftop Jacuzzi. The property was very pretty and the Lobby was my most enjoyable area to relax and hang out. However, the music is only ambient like getting a massage vs music with some bit of energy to at least groove along.
The restaurants and food selections were very boring and average at best. The pool music was not a party energy during the day. The entertainment at night could have easily been much better with just the addition of a DJ in the sports bar. But, any higher energy music was changed for lower energy music. Very disappointing. The overall energy of the Resort was too low day and night compared to other resorts in Punta Cana. Also, the train transportation service was very some timey at best... We ended up having to walk with our bags to the lobby area to leave, because of the poor transportation organization.
7Overall, the resort was satisfactory.

We ate breakfast at the buffet. What was available on the line varied from day to day. Some days there would be a potato option for example, and the next 3 days there wouldn't be. Dinner options at the various restaurants was excellent. Reservations are required at all restaurants even though when you check in they tell you otherwise. Overall, satisfactory. Staff throughout the property were extremely helpful and great at their roles.
The solicitation was ridiculous throughout the whole stay. We checked in Monday afternoon and had scheduled what we thought was a tour of the property followed by breakfast the next morning at 0800. We were taken to the lobby and sat down for what would have been a multi-hour sales pitch (on our first morning there!). I politely told them I wasn't interested in anything they had to offer/sell, I simply wanted to enjoy my first morning at the property with my wife. The individual who cornered us the afternoon we got there when seeing us leave the lobby asked what happened and didn't seem happy we weren't interested in listening to the pitch. Additionally, these "white shirts" (that's what they wear) individuals would stake outside the restaurants and the pools all throughout the day continuing to try and sell you on future bookings and excursions. It's incredibly annoying to continually be pestered while trying to simply enjoy a vacation. Also, when booking our room the pictures listed on your website for the Rooftop Privelege with Hot Tub rooms showed the balconies having a swinging chair that hung from the ceiling. Our room, nor any room in our building had these while all the other buildings did. This is poor advertising on booking.com's behalf as well as the resort. My wife was looking forward to utilizing this chair for comfort. You need to correct this inconsistency so other guests are not tricked as well.
