Oct 2019What a beautiful retreat to just get away from it all. "Off the Grid", was exactly what we were looking for and this adorable spot offered that and more. My husband and I can't wait to return. We are thinking a visit during the snowy season to explore the trails while cross country skiing.

Sep 2017We wanted a weekend getaway to celebrate an anniversary, and this was the perfect spot. We loved that it was "off the grid", so we could really unplug and enjoy one another. Our dog Max loved it too, and the owners were very gracious in sharing the pond and grounds with him.

Jun 2018We had perfect weather and gorgeous views. There’s a beautiful trail leading to two beaver colonies. We sat there a couple nights and watched them for quite a while. Alice was always prompt in getting back to us with even our most trivial questions. Our pups loved the big back yard and our Labrador Lucy loved the pond. It was about an hours drive from various places we wanted to go but we would also have been just as happy staying at the loft. Everything was perfect and a great getaway for us. Weiterlesen

May 2018We had a great stay at Alice and Gary's solar-powered cabin over Memorial Day weekend.The cabin is very comfortable and has everything we needed to cook our meals and relax. We were pleasantly surprised how refreshing it is not to have wifi or cellular data. We enjoyed playing with our dog on the massive lawn, grilled dinner and made pizza on the deck and caught up on our reading. The cabin is also also easily accessible to larger towns 10 minutes away for any groceries or shopping needs. Alice and Gary are great hosts and we enjoyed learning more about their love of pizza and how Gary built his own pizza oven! Thank you for a great stay! Weiterlesen

Oct 2020This trip was by far the best thing I've done for myself this year. This place is amazing and beautiful. Walking my dogs through fields and up trails was great. The hosts were extremely kind, they thought of everything. Well stocked with pots and pans. I love the lighting in the loft , again they thought of evrything. Sep 2018This place was great. My wife and I stayed there a couple nights for an event in Northfield. It is so quiet here and the view is marvelous. The only noise we heard was some wildlife carrying on but it didn't bother us. We're also far enough away from the main road that we don't hear traffic. We look forward to returning next year. This would be a great place in a few weeks when the leaves are changing. You wouldn't even know you were "off the grid" at this location. if you can't get away from your phone then this may not be the place for you. There's very little cell service. Oct 2019This loft was just perfect. We loved it, 2 dogs loved it. Town was close if you even need anything. Trails were great and we even saw a Moose at the Rocheater gap! Only things that would have increased the perfection would have been easier to find printed trail and end of stay directions since it really is off the grid. The house and property were clean, but utensils, plates and pans had to be washed before using and glasses had lip marks still, which was disappointing.
We really were so extremely happy with our stay though! we hope to come back to the loft for future getaways!!!!! Weiterlesen

Jul 2020The cottage was exactly as described. Alice was great at communicating and answering all of my questions leading up to the arrival date. It rained most of the days we were there but it honestly didn't matter because it was so nice to get away and we had everything we needed in the cottage. Only regret not staying longer... aka will be going back again for sure!! :)

Jul 2018The barn is very relaxing and private. I stayed with my dog while up there for a wedding. we had a great time hiking nearby and walking the path. The space is beautifully decorated as well.
One night it was very hot and the windows don't open all the way so make sure they include a fan if you go during the very hot season. All other nights it was perfectly comfortable.

Nov 2018My husband, myself, and our springer spaniel Sadie spent two peaceful nights in this adorable, CLEAN, loft!
Although the weather didn't cooperate it didn't matter. We were cozy in front of the gas stove:) We loved being off the grid and unplugged for a couple of days. We enjoyed a visit from our daughter, and her dog North and Sadie loved running in the back yard! We read books, listened to the rain on the metal roof, napped, played chess, and made a great meal and even an apple pie in the adorable kitchen.
Thank you so much Alice for sharing this great space with us. And, we were so impressed with the off-the-grid technology everywhere on the property!
I am sure we'll visit again :)

Jul 2018I wanted to get out of the city with my dog and let her get some time in nature. We hiked, swam and napped outside. The barn had everything you could need and the bed was extremely comfortable. Alice provided detailed recommendations on local hiking trails and other things to do in the area. Aug 2018It was just myself for a mini getaway. The cabinnis very comfortabe and well out. Was really hot the 2 days that I was there, so nice to have the fan. The pond was a freshing treat and the campfire pit was relaxing at end of day. Loved walking down to beaver ponds in the mornings and evenings to see what was going on. A very peaceful stay for someone just 3 wks out of full knee repmacement surgery.. I really needed a break, and the loft was perfect. I will be back when knee is able to enjoy more of the hiking around. Beautiful property and setting. Weiterlesen
