Jan 2022We just stayed for 2 nights in Ginko Cottage, Trentham. The house was perfect for the dogs, with the wonderful bonus of the delightful Stony Creek Reserve /track just over the road. The bedrooms were very large and the beds all very comfortable. The house was very clean but the lounge cover on the front porch is horribly old and stained and is a true eyesore on arrival- please replace! It would be lovely to sit and watch the sunset if the Lounge was clean and inviting! The lounge room lounges also need replacement - they are very old and uncomfortable. As another review said, the window sills need good cleaning of webs and dead flies - but inside the house was extremely clean. The garden is very unloved- some easy care natives/garden and clothes line would be a big improvement. Location was excellent - walk 2 blocks to the lovely pub for dinner/Main Street and reserve over the road with gorgeous flocks of resident corellas. No Wi-Fi. It would be appreciated to have more serving dishes etc in the kitchen and there was only one teaspoon for 5 people! Would stay again and loved Trentham but hope the house and furnishings might be given a little TLC. Many of the windows don’t lock - so be aware - but I think it is a lovely quiet and safe little village. The local Red Beard Bakery was smashingly good and there is a great little vegan food truck set up opposite, too. Weiterlesen

Sep 2021We had a great stay in Trentham, it was just what we all needed. Great location to main street.
Property was very clean, however appears run down and could do with a refresh/fixing up - especially the outdoor cushion on the front verandah as it was not inviting at all to sit on. Photos were not true to the property, decor in bedrooms was different. When a fire place is provided at a holiday property, wood should be supplied - small touches add to the experience and should be included. Having to take firewood was a bit of a hassle when we wanted to just arrive. Thanks Weiterlesen

Mar 2021We had a fantastic stay here, the cottage is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of town and also close to bushwalk trails. Rooms were cosy and comfortable and lounge room was great for an evening chillax with the wood burner. Kitchen has everything you'd need. The front porch is a real sun trap in the evening, and the yard is a great size. Would definitely stay here again. Weiterlesen

The cottage is really quaint, the doors are all the originals. Updated bathrooms Are great. Only thing missing are locks on the bathroom doors, other than that the beds are super comfy and the property was clean.
The heaters in the rooms are amazing, so it would be a great place to stay in winter.

Jan 2021The cottage was perfect for our long awaited family get-together. Good sized bedrooms with modern bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. The garden was great for the 2 small dogs, although the grass and trees could do with a trim! The village is lovely and there is plenty to do in and around the area, particularly in nearby Daylesford.
A broom and dustpan would have been useful (perhaps there was one somewhere but we couldn't find it) just to keep the entrance hall tidy, and some new clothes pegs wouldn't go amiss either (we were travelling so made use of the washing machine). However these are minor points - we loved the cottage and the location and would happily return. Weiterlesen

Aug 2021Really lovely 3 bedroom cottage, with each bedroom being very spacious with very comfortable QS beds.
Well equipped kitchen with some basic pantry staples in the cupboard which was handy
Lovely open fire (Coonara) in the lounge room along with panel heaters in every room made the house very cosy during our mid-winter stay. Fire wood is not included in the rental price so allow an extra $20 per day to cover the cost of firewood
The house is a very easy walk into Trentham (5 min) which was very convenient, especially after a beautiful meal at the Trentham pub.
Remember to get to Redbeard's Sourdough bakery for a fresh loaf each day

Feb 2021Property was not as presented online. Photos are of a property we did not recognise - rooms had been cleverly “styled” online.
House surrounded by overgrown grass (no garden as such as described online), large overgrown magnolia tree prevented access to the carport, even if it was possible to avoid the significant and dangerous “sink hole” subsidence against the side fence!
Rooms only slightly resembled the heavily “styled” photos.
Kitchen had cabinet doors that were out of adjustment, oven was dirty, exhaust fan canopy covered in greasy dust.
Bedroom side lamps did not work and one had exposed live wires. Did not even slightly resemble the lamps in photos.
Rear bedroom windows had flaking paint, rotting frames and cobwebs/dead flies.
Presentation of the property was generally disappointing and quite deceptive when compared with online photos.
No Wifi or dishwasher which are essentials in 2021. Weiterlesen

Feb 2021Overall, we had a very positive experience. The location is superb, opposite a lovely park and quiet. The kitchen was well- supplied with cutlery and cooking pots plus the beds were comfy and the bedrooms spacious. As well, there were plenty of towels and generally it was clean. However, there are a few secondary issues that could be improved: one of the bedroom lamps was burned out; a couple of glasses were cracked. There should be a lamp in the lounge room for extra light and a more ambient atmosphere. Looking at the backyard area, I saw that the trees were badly in need of pruning plus the grass needed cutting. The furniture on the front porch is dilapidated and dirty. It should be replaced. Obviously, the house has seen better days because the outside needs painting, etc. Weiterlesen

Jun 2020My partner and I booked this place for a quiet romantic get away. We felt at home here, the owner has good communication while still giving us complete privacy. The house was very clean and well laid out, the photos match perfectly. The beds are comfy and they have well working heaters in every room. The fire place is awesome, just be sure to bring your own fire wood (plenty of local places near by to get it) they have beautiful vintage furniture but also added a big modern couch for comfort. The backyard and front yard are secure for pets, our dog loved it. There’s a beautiful view opposite this house, Its a large park you can walk through that leads to a lake with ducks. Great spot to have a picnic. We are already planning to come back soon, I highly recommend staying! Thanks again :) Weiterlesen

For example, we would have appreciated rugs on the bedroom floors, some firewood provided, throw rugs, lamps in the lounge, tissues, a teapot, some plastic containers for picnics.
