Die Lage unseres Hauses in Sand Pointe Cove ermöglicht es unseren Gästen, nachts mit dem Kajak die Biolumineszenz der Bucht zu beobachten, die nur an wenigen Orten auf der Welt zu finden ist (siehe Fotos). Die Biolumineszenz tritt auf, wenn die Bewegung Ihres Kajaks und der Paddel die Mikroorganismen im Wasser stört, wodurch sie leuchten oder Licht emittieren. Dieses Phänomen lässt sich am besten in einer dunklen Nacht beobachten, in der es keinen Mond gibt und sich nicht in der Nähe der Docklichter der Häuser in der Bucht befindet.

Das Inselhaus verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche in voller Größe und die Aussicht von der Küche ist atemberaubend. Die beste Eigenschaft des Inselhauses ist die geräumige zweistöckige Veranda, die einen Blick auf die Bucht bietet, ein perfekter Ort für Unterhaltung. Gleich neben der Küche befindet sich eine Waschküche mit Waschmaschine und Trockner sowie eine separate Gästetoilette. Nehmen Sie ein paar Schritte außerhalb der Veranda und es gibt eine Außendusche und Ihren eigenen Holzkohlegrill.
Im Obergeschoss finden Sie ein Hauptschlafzimmer mit einem Kingsize-Bett, Kabel-TV, einen großen begehbaren Kleiderschrank mit einer Gepäckablage und ein komplettes Badezimmer mit Dusche / Badewanne. Jun 2022What a place! Ideal setup. Very few people around. The pictures don't lie. Every time I looked around it was like "Wow this is Paradise." So many things you can do. So many restaurants to try local food. My family had a blast.

Aug 2019We stayed at Dream Kai for a week in July with our two teenage sons. The condo was sparkling clean and was perfectly suited for us, with the two bedrooms upstairs, each with their own bathroom. The layout is fantastic, with the two story lanai. If you are looking for a quiet vacation, this is your spot. The bioluminescent bay right outside your doorstep is a truly unique experience; we took the kayaks out most nights. Starfish beach is only a couple minutes’ drive away. We loved walking across the street to Rum Point Beach; wonderful place to watch the sunset with a frozen drink!
Be prepared for those coming in the summer; it is extremely hot and humid, and really doesn’t even cool down at night. We were thankful for the air conditioning, especially in the bedrooms, and the pool was a nice way to cool off.
Our favorite experience on Grand Carmen was the resort dive we all did with the dive resort at Compass Point - amazing! Not many restaurants in the area, so you need to stop and get groceries before leaving Georgetown. Our favorite restaurant was Tukka on the east end.

The check-in process and directions were super easy and very detailed. ...and the home was super clean with all the necessary equipment needed for a beach vacation, such as snorkeling gear, cooler, beach towels, toys, etc. Also, having the kayaks right on the bay was an awesome bonus along with the use of the bikes. Nigel really thought of everything.Also, being so close to Rum Point we walked over and for a drink and the nice lounge chairs on the beach. We also walked to Kaibo and Starfish Point. It truly was one of our best vacations as a family and we will hopefully be back in the very near future!!

Aug 2019We had the most wonderful vacation at Dream Kai. The Island Houses have an amazing location. I seriously could not have been more pleased. Dream Kaibwas super clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was above equipped, the furnishings and decor were inviting, and the lanai was my favorite room! The bay behind the house is a dream. We were in it daily either snorkeling, kayaking or enjoying the bioluminescence (one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen). From the pictures you can’t tell, but just like the ocean, the bay is crystal clear. From the Dream Kai lanai, you have a perfect view of the bay yet only steps away from the pool which also has an incredible view of the bay, so when the kids want to be in the pool, the view makes you feel like your not missing out on your beloved beach time. Right out the front or back door and few steps, you arrive at Rum Point. Rum Point has such a fun vibe and a very unique setting. We were able to booked a glass bottom boat to Sting Ray City with Red Sail Sports located at Rum Point. With the bar and grill, restaurant and Red Sail sports right there, we were able to stay at an Airbnb, but feel like we had the amenities of a resort. My son and husband booked several scuba trips while we were there and they can’t wait to go back. Nigel and Jayne, thank you so much for offering your lovely Island House. We would love to return some day!

Jun 2022We had a great stay at Cayman Kai. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the pots/pans, dishes, glasses and silverware we could possibly need. We loved having the kayaks to use and while we wished there was a good up beach chair, the Adirondack chairs were light and easy to carry to the beach. Would definitely book again!!

Jan 2020We brought three adults and two teenage boys. The house had everything we needed! It’s a quieter part of the island, which is what we were after. We enjoyed the kayaks and the bay right at our back door. We made dinner almost every night. The very best grocery store is close to the fancy hotels on 7 mile beach. Do not buy any coffee filters because there are literally 1000 of them at the house! The drive to 7 mile beach is about 45 minutes so next time we would go to that particular Fosters upon arrival.
We spent another day at 7 mile beach and were able to rent a cabana and find free parking at the Royal Palms. The house conveniently had snorkels, fins, and beach towels that we could take with us.
The only thing we could suggest for improvement is regarding the bikes. They both need some maintenance to be able to enjoy.
We would certainly return to this house. Thank you for sharing it with us!

May 2019This was our first time using VRBO, I chose the property due to rave reviews. I’m SO GLAD we did! I want to start by saying Nigel was a wonderful host, super fast and clear communication. We had a special request due to a child’s allergy and he made sure it was honored.
The location was absolutely perfect for us! We wanted an area that was close to food and beach but not full of tourists. If that is what you are seeking, look no further. Rum Point beach, restaurants and bar/grill and beach all across the street. However, the cove of Bio bay location just out the back doorstep was beyond beautiful and perfect view for an island getaway! The house was so clean and extremely comfortable. Decorations were fun and kitchen was equipped for everything you could need. The beds were comfortable and plenty of extra sheets/blankets and towels. Nigel went above and beyond to make sure guests have a wonderful time. Kayaks, cooler, life vests and sand toys as well as a few float toys are all available for beach and pool ( also just out back by bay) this was an absolutely amazing stay and I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Our two kids 10 and 13 didn’t want to leave!

Aug 2020This was a lovely property, well maintained and stocked with all the items you need to feel at home. Very spacious and open floor plan and comfortable for 4 adults and 2 older children. Great spot on the property looking out into the bay and lots of water toys too. We would definitely rent this unit again.

Jan 2020The Dream Kai property delivered what it promised. Located across the street from Rum Point, we were in walking distance to two restaurants, the beach and the Treasure Chest souvenir shop. The complex and grounds were well maintained and quiet - the pool overlooking the bay was great! Kayaking on the bay was a breeze and the equipment was in good shape. The TV in the master suite didn't work, but the property manager came by to fix it within a day (however the mainfloor TV no longer worked after that, and the property manager did not take our call again). There is a wonderful breeze through the building, but one of the window mechanisms seemed to be broken and it wouldn't close again. We would highly recommend this property!

Jun 2019Once we found it and got in the experience was just as advertised. I would add a picture of the front entrance to make it easier to find and the lock was difficult to use. Tom the neighbor was extremely welcoming but not at all intrusive in our stay. The lanai/porch is where we spent the majority of our mornings. Sun up at 5:45-6:00. It was a relief to find Rum Point only a short walk from the condo. (250 yds approximately) The condo clean, well supplied, and lots of comfortable space! Truly enjoyed the special soaps from beach Bubbles!!! Bought some at the shop to take home as souvenirs. Be sure to read through Cayman history book provided! Made our trips around the island more meaningful. The bioluminescent bay at night was gorgeous! Kayaks in good shape as well as the snorkeling gear. What out for the Lion fish that lives right outside our condo. Thank you Mitten family!! One of our top vacations for sure!

Aug 2022Nous avons séjourné deux semaines à Dream Kai. Nous étions deux couples. L’endroit est paisible et peu achalandé en cette fin de juillet. Nous avons parcouru l’île au complet et découvert plusieurs sites magnifiques pour la plongée apnée. Nous avons pu observer une faune variée ( tortue, étoile de mer, coraux, poissons multicolores, raie…). Nous avions loué une voiture.

Mar 2019My family and I stayed at Dream Kai the week of March 9-16. It truly was the best vacation we have taken as a family! The house was beautiful and exactly as we expected. The kitchen was fully stocked with all we could need. The one suggestion I have is to pack a few bottle/can coozies. There were none in the house, and they are easy to pack. We had a problem with the ac in the master, but Nigel was quick to respond and have the situation fixed.
You must go kayaking in the bio-luminescent cove. It was an experience we'll never forget. It's tough to describe just how amazing it is to see the water light up!
The location of the property was perfect as well! We traveled during spring break, and knew we wanted to stay away from the busy tourist side of the island. The north side was so calm and relaxing! We were nearly always the only people at the pool, which was warm, clean and inviting just steps from the back door. When we wanted a change of scenery, we walked three minutes to Rum Point and enjoyed the beaches and lounge chairs there. It was never crowded. We were always able to find chairs and relax near the ocean. The drinks there were great too!
We booked a three hour excursion with Captain Marvin's for Stingray City, Coral Gardens and the Barrier Reef. Their pricing was great and the excursion did not feel packed. We saw other outfitters with twice the number of people on their boats. Captain Marvin's was great and our photos were amazing!
I would highly recommend eating at Macabuca, near the sea turtle farm. The food was delicious and you can go diving or snorkeling off their back deck!
We also took a drive around the east side of the island to see the blow holes. There was local there sharing info about the fossils and the blow holes. He was great! No charge, but a few bucks for a tip would be nice. We then continued that drive and came across a small sculpture garden. Totally worth a stop for some fun photos!
We ate at Kaibo (a short 5 minute drive) twice! The red snapper was amazing! We went back on Tuesday for the beach BBQ and live music. It was a great night! The kids even found starfish near the shore!
Starfish Point is worth a quick stop to check out the starfish, however, there really isn't a beach to hang out on.
You'll want to stop for groceries before heading to the house. However, avoid the Fosters near the airport. It was super busy and the isles were cramped. There are better ones on the island.

Mar 2019I’m sitting in the airport about to head back to NY and my family wants to cry at the thought of going back to a snow storm. Dream Kai was the best vacation home we’ve stayed in. Can’t beat the location and literally everything you need is provided for you. We came with my husband and three kids age 15,13,7 and we were all entertained for 6 days straight. We loved drinking coffee and having breakfast on the lanai and then heading a few steps over to rum point for the day. On a few occasions we hung out in the pool and met quite a few of Nigel’s lovely neighbors. Spend an entire day on the kayaks provided and headed to a beautiful isolated beach around the corner of the bay and then over to starfish point. I could go on and on but we had the best time ever. Thank you for allowing us the use of your home. We can’t wait to come back

Just 2 suggestions
1. Entire circuits in circuits box panel should be replaced while we were here 2 of the 220 circuit breakers had to be replaced. When we were asked to flip all the circuits to see which one controlled the hot water heater there were 4 of the circuit breakers that sizzled audibly
2. Mattresses and linens need to be replaced. Sheets have been washed so often that they ripped
Again, everything else was absolutely wonderful. Truly enjoyed our stay in Paradise

Jan 2020Everything is just as described in the listing. Home was very clean, location wonderful if you want to be away from the crowds. Our family had a great time. Reading the other reviews will give you an idea of things to do, location, etc. Renting from Nigel was very easy with no complications. Thank you!

May 2019Bioluminescent Bay was Beautiful. The Rum point area was a quite place good to run every morning and relax during the day. It was a nice 40 min drive to town. Nice beach to swim and snorkel within steps away. Restaurants and convenient store near by. Clean and well kept house.

Apr 2019At the end of the week we hated to go home. This house was in a perfect location far from the commercial side of the island. It allowed us the opportunity to go to local stores and restaurants that did not have a single tourist in them. The house was in great condition and has all the amenities that you could need for a week or a month. The cove is beautiful and getting to kayak and snorkel in the bioluminescent water every night was awesome. The setting was even more beautiful than the pics online. Can't wait to go back.

Dec 2019As biologists, this was a perfect landing spot to take in all the natural beauty of Grand Cayman. The kids learned to snorkel at Rum Point, which was an easy 5 minute walk and a great place to learn. Was great having good snorkeling equipment available at the condo so we didn't have to pack it or rent it. Went twice to Spotts beach to snorkel with sea turtles. Went out with Red Sail Sports from the Rum Point dock to Stingray City (amazinng!) and to snorkel at the Coral Garden. Was so easy from the condo. Also did some birding and hiking at the Mastic Trail, which we loved-- parrots, doves, tanagers, banaquits, snakes, hermit crabs, awesome cacti and cool rock formations. And, of course, taking the kayaks out on the bay was also great. The kids loved having their own boats. The bioluminescent bay was spectacular to see and an easy night paddle. And the condo was wonderful. Grocery store was nearby (Chisholms) with some easy, locally made frozen meals to cook at the condo and Island Jerk across the street from the grocery store was the best food we had. We appreciated the well-stocked pantry too, so I didn't need to buy coffee filters or sugar, etc. Overall, just a great stay. Thanks so much!!
