Just WOW! We are raising our 13 year old granddaughter, thus we are BUSY! We were looking to unplug with our pup Tenley after dropping our granddaughter off at camp. We have a family cottage nearby, but are always looking for new experiences. The couples retreat checked ALL THE BOXES.! The cabin is immaculate with so many unique special touches, from the personal greeting to the welcome gift. Jason and Bernice were excellent hosts and always responsive to my MANY questions. The views of nature are beyond compare! The stay was a birthday gift to my boyfriend of 25 years 🥰, and his response was he felt like he was watching a Disney movie. We cannot wait to rebook! This place was beyond our expectations! It was easy to get to & had everything we needed. Watching the animals from the river room was so relaxing and great entertainment. The extra thoughtful things, information, and advice made it that much more perfect. They are wonderful hosts, communicate great, and go out of there way to make it special. We would definitely return again if they'd have us!

Everything was as expected!! Perfection

You’ll not understand the beauty of the home or property until you’ve been there. This stay was solely for my husband and I, being unplugged from internet, email, and phones were what we needed. As well as the peaceful river view enjoying wildlife up close! Thank you for sharing your place for our experience!!

It seemed like it was too good to be true even when we were there. My boyfriend even said it felt like a set of a movie. The yard and cabin were incredibly well maintained. You could feel the love. I honestly can't wait to go back. It was PERFECT.

With all the woodland animals, stunning views from the river room, and being immersed in nature, I believe this is what it feels like to be Snow White. Every detail has been carefully thought out for their visitors. Your entire vacation is at this very spot, and you do not need to go anywhere else. Whether dropping in the kayaks Sable River right off the backyard or going over the bridge to hike the state forest. And this property is dog friendly too. The wildlife watching from the river room will wear them out. After being here and relaxing for a bit, it will click...this is what it truly means to unplug and recharge. The only concern is for Verizon cell customers. You will get zero reception for miles around this cabin. The cabin does have a booster, but reception is so low it does not help. Have maps and places to go already researched and downloaded; if you forget, head over to Na Ta Ka restaurant and jump on their wifi.

Well worth the money

We were looking for a secluded, romantic getaway and we found heaven! Pictures and simple words cannot explain how breathtaking this location is. The cottage is roomy yet cozy. The hosts were gracious and great communicators as well. No there's little to no cell service, no Internet or cable TV, but if that's what you're looking for, you shouldn't be here. This is for those who want to leave the life behind for a few days and reconnect with nature and one another. Less than an hour drive to the Dunes at Ludington State Park was a huge perk! Already planning our return.

This cabin and property are a slice of heaven! It is a perfect get-away from the busyness of everyday life. It is immaculate and so well taken care of; you can tell the owners take pride in it. The details inside the cabin make it so cozy and welcoming, and all of "extras", from supplying plenty of firewood and corn to feed the forest animals, to the sugar packets (much appreciated since I forgot to bring sugar!) for coffee and the bottled water, were the icing on the cake. We spent hours in the front room every morning with our coffee watching the animals feed or wade in the river. The stress just slips away... we are already looking at our calendar for when we can book again! Thank you for such an amazing weekend!

Just walking in we were stunned by the view of the river! After looking at several listings on VRBO I haven’t seen a river view to match, as you can see the river (and fireplace) while cozied on the large plush sectional. The cabin was very clean and perfectly appointed….plenty of wood for burning fires, kitchen stocked with plenty of items for cooking meals and for serving. Also extras for the forgetful guest. Lots of wildlife to view, we were always attentive when it was time for the wildlife feeder to spread seed/corn, since plenty of deer, birds, ducks and funny squirrels were at play. This was a wonderful stay at a relaxing cabin in the woods by the river….sublime. Can’t wait for the next visit, thanks for sharing this wonderful place.

This property and owners are awesome! From the moment we drove in the driveway we knew we would love it here. The cabin is beautiful and immaculate. Plenty of dishes, app appliances work perfectly. The river room and comfy chairs provided hours of critter watching. With the river so close there were always birds, squirrels, ducks and deer to watch. This place is perfect! Thank you for such a great birthday weekend, the “extras” were especially nice and thoughtful! We will be back.

Truly a one-of-kind experience. My partner, dog and I came for a winter getaway and were blown away by how special this cabin and property were. First and foremost, Bernice and Jason are amazingly accommodating, patient and responsive! Jason even gave us a later check-out to allow us time to enjoy the morning before heading out! The actual property is out-of-this-world gorgeous, immaculately clean and wonderfully peaceful. Because the property is fairly remote, you can tell the hosts stock everything you may forget at home. There were tons of thoughtful touches to that end, including and absolutely adorable welcome gift. They provided a very detailed list of things to do and places to visit, which we definitely used. We had a blast on the trails recommended by Jason and hanging out on the river and indoors watching all the wildlife outside. If you need to unplug and recharge, I don’t think there is a better place to visit. It was truly a winter wonderland. We will certainly be back!

Great place to relax and enjoy nature. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. We're looking forward to returning in the summer for a kayaking and fishing trip.

My friend and I wanted a getaway where we could hole up and be cozy and have a nice girls trip. This place was great and suited us well! The cabin was nicely decorated and very clean. The abundance of nature was definitely the best part. We got to see a family of four deer twice a day everyday, the sunroom offered an excellent view of all the wild life. Would love to come back with my husband!

If this place ever goes up for sale, we call dibs! We wanted a quiet weekend getaway amongst the trees and that is exactly what we got. Knotty pine, cozy fireplace, and a free wildlife show every morning and evening. What more could you want! Not really close to any attractions, but isn't that kind of the point?
