Ultimately, before I break it down. I had a great month in LA and after it's all said and done, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Though, it took some time to get comfortable. The house was not clean, it was not to the standards of a person who is spending this amount of money to stay in a luxury villa at the top of Hollywood Hills. The cleaning checklist was out and was not met to say the least. One of the selling points to me was the hot tub on the balcony. This was absolutely disgusting and insanitary, so we wrote the company to come clean it. They poured bleach in it, that's about it. That does not clean a hot tub that's gunky and full of funk! So we did not use it. The power kicked off quite a few times, the owner thought it was because of our very minimal studio equipment, but it was because of the hot tub. I believe that, and the laundry, and the lighting were all in the same circuit. We got along well with the owner, who stays just across the street from us, until he got irritated for our having company over one night. He seemed to believe we were having parties and a ton of people over, but I believe it was the people renting below us. They had parties, dinners, daytime gatherings, and took up ALL the parking on our street including our designated spot. We never complained, but the moment we had more than one car over, it became a problem. So we laid low for the most part. Any who, the view, and the inspiration was well worth the stay here, it's not the most heavenly picture perfect rental, but it's realistic.

The whole unit is set up with a grand sliding door that opens up the entire living area to this epic view of LA. It’s quiet, warm, and breezy (at least it was during our stay), and the aesthetic was so interesting and really brought us out of our usual routine (in a good way). The furniture and electronics were a bit strange and dated, but we got prompt help from the very kind property manager, and everything went smoothly from there. Would highly recommend overall.

The outdoor hot was not functioning properly, the property was not in the greatest condition and not very cleanly. There was old food still in the refrigerator opened. The tub in the bedroom was not functioning and there was no functioning fireplace as indicated. I’m not sure what I paid for with the exception of the view but it was my birthday so we made the best of it.

The house was amazing and I can't say enough about the view of the city. We changed our plans so we could spend more time in the house. Everything was as promised. It's a great place to stay for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl - just a $5 Uber ride!

Thank you James and Bruno for a wonderful stay! The home sits wonderfully up top Hollywood Hills. Perfect driving distance to all areas in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the beach. The views were outstanding. The property was clean and furnish upon arrival. James and Bruno were easy to work with and assisted with what we needed. A great place to stay! Will definitely be back, thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Truly unbelievable views, the pictures don't do the view justice. At least a few times a day we'd be blown away just glancing in the direction of downtown. Very comfortable bed.

Pros:1. The View 2. Jacuzzi 3. DecorCons:1. The WiFi was the worst! Omg I could understand that the cell connection wasn’t going to be the best due to the location, but then at least have high speed internet. Like that should be standard by now. I had also mentioned I intended to work from the property and I needed internet for it and I couldn’t really get anything done. 2. It got really cold at night and in the manual it said the fireplace heats the home but then I was told it doesn’t so I just ended up shivering my butt off. The first night I just went to sleep at 8:00 PM because that’s how cold I was. Overall I had a nice stay, but it’s more of a summer vacation rental. Maybe I’ll be back in the spring or summer for vacation. I haven’t decided yet.

My wife, son and I spent a week here and loved every minute of the stay! The views were astounding and even my cousin, who lives in West Hollywood, was amazed with the views. James and Lisa were very communicative every step and delivered every promise. The photos on VRBO were a very good representation of the property with the following differences: 1) the view cannot be captured accurately in photos - it's much better in person! 2) the location is great. While it's not truly a walk to everything due to the hilltop location, you are literally a 10 minute drive to the Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood, Sunset strip and West Hollywood. It's a 30/50 minute drive (traffic dependent) to Venice, LAX, downtown LA and Malibu. 3) The shower is very cool 4) no bugs! We come from the Midwest where mosquitos are horrible. Here, we slept with the 30 foot window open and had no problems. 5) James and Lisa are extremely professional. We met James briefly upon arrival and he was very cordial and fun to talk with. 6) The bed was comfortable. 7) James was very responsive to questions and requests throughout our stay. 8) on the ever so slightly negative side - 8.a) some of the outdoor linens were slightly sun worn (discolored) but they functioned perfectly. Oh yes, the daybed on the patio was really relaxing both day and night. 8.b) the hot tub needed to be run a day or so to get clean but, again, was of very minor concern. 8.c) the air conditioning was a window type and in the bedroom. Coming from hot and humid Chicago, we thought this would be a problem but it, the three fans and the cool nights were perfect and we actually used blankets to stay warm. Would I stay here again? Yes, in an instant! The owner is wonderful and it's one of the most unique places I have stayed in all of our journeys. My wife actually stayed home for a day simply to enjoy the view and solitude while I took my son to visit a college.

My wife and I stayed here while we visited family and loved this cozy home! The outdoor patio was a great place to relax and unwind. The home is located in an amazing neighborhood with spectacular views and not far from Hollywood. Overall we felt that we had found a diamond in the Hollywood Hills and hope to rebook next time we go to LA.

Let’s start at the beginning: “… to work the lights, there is a remote which should be on the coffee table or kitchen table.” – There’s no remote “Also, there should be a binder of house information in the kitchen.” – There’s no binder Hot water? We had no hot water for two days TV’s? – Weren’t hooked up Huge bath tub?- Faucet was broken and the tub was cracked and covered in dust. Bathroom?- One showerhead is broken, there’s cobwebs and you’ll need to ignore the VERY personal toiletries left in the bathroom vanity. Clean? Dead bugs on stairs, deck loungers and grill. Mouse and bird feces covered the deck and the kitchen cabinets. We had to clean the utensils and pans upon arrival. Dresser? You can leave fingerprints in the dust on the top. You’re also going to share the drawers with leftover clothes. Beautiful lounger or soak in the hot tub? Hot tub was lukewarm and full of dirt. The jets kick on at random times and won’t turn off. Loungers are metal, oil stained and full of dead bugs. The deck is covered in cobwebs, dead plants and bird’s nests. “…onsite housekeeper and property manager who can help you with any of your needs, should something be missing or not to your satisfaction.” The housekeeper supposedly came back, (she’s not on site) but we saw NO difference. Wondering how did they clean when there was no hot water? Rest assured, we were charged for cleaning. The property manager was not willing to look at the condition of the house, even though he “lived right across the street”. He stopped responding to our messages. Full kitchen amenities? Dining dishes, glasses, silverware, 2 frying pans and cookie sheets. No utensils, pots, bowls, etc., but there is leftover food in the refrigerator and cupboards. “The owner lives next door.” And parks his loud Range Rover right outside the bedroom window all hours of the day and night. “It is very important to the owner that there are no parties or events!” Didn’t apply when we finally gave up and left at 3:30 in the morning… or rather tried to leave by driving through the party goers and cars blocking the street. DISREPAIR and DISGUSTING: Overall, the house needs several upgrades, repairs and to be thoroughly cleaned. The sliding glass door doesn’t close entirely, curtains were rigged with metal poles taped together, etc. We were refunded a portion of the two nights promised. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, comfortable, place, this isn’t it. I wish I could upload the pictures.

James, When we first walked through the doors at 3pm we were a little taken back - and I'm sorry to say, not for a good reason. The space appeared smaller than we thought it would be and the view was nice, but... Then the sun set, the lights were turned on and magic happened. The space, is almost spiritual. The daytime views nice, but the night time view, STUNNING. The pictures cannot do them justice. We spent three nights in this lovely place and by the third day we were so sad knowing we would have to leave in the AM. We went on to spend 7 days in Palm Springs and I can genuinely say our time in this space was BY FAR our best and most treasured memories. The house is a short distance (5 miles can take 45min in LA...but still LOVE it!!) to lots of hiking. We did the Griffith Observatory on day and the Hollywood Sign, (front & back!,) the other. Both hikes were less than 5 miles away. We spent a day on Santa Monica Blvd. in the restaurant/bars of West Hollywood and had the time of our lives. The bed was SUPER comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was perfect (two very important things for me!). They had everything you would need to be comfortable, and if you needed anything, or couldn't find something James would be there in ONE MINUTE to help. He was great!! I would go there again in a heartbeat!! Thank you so much for having us and allowing us to have the amazing memories we now hold dear! Cheers, Scott

I've had a lifelong infatuation with LA. The photos of this place look almost too good to be true. But the location is simply amazing, and the views breathtaking. I had trouble going to bed at night because you just want to stay on the patio & look at this view forever. We had a couple issues, but James is very responsive. It would probably have taken a fire or earthquake to make this stay negative... the property is simply stunning. I could definitely live there! (It's above my budget, but so glad I splurged). THANK YOU James, I meant to post this 6 months ago. This was my most memorable LA experience after 25 years of visits... We hope to come back some day.

I have been lucky enough to stay here twice and completely agree with the other reviews. There's no better place in Hollywood to watch the sunset, bar none. Just sat on the patio at the end of a long day and had a great time, close enough to the action, but still felt secluded.

I have been in many Hollywood Hills homes in this area...this is my favorite. It has a great feel, wonderful views in an isolated location. I feel so relaxed in this nice 1 story layout, looking forward to my next visit.

Hosts were very kind & helpful. They are very prompt at addressing any needs. The property could use a little updating & sprucing up. Overall it was a great stay.

Everything was spectacular. Anything we needed was right there. Only suggestion I would make it gettin a couple of smart tvs bc the cable is a bit outdated. Andit might even be more cost effective

Did a weekend girls trip here and it was stunning!! Beautifully designed and very cozy - perfect size for the three of us. None of us had ever seen a view quite like this. Lisa was always available by email if we had any questions. Thanks for a great trip!

Couldn’t get the TVs to work properly even after contacting the property manager so I ended up having 1 tv that worked which only had 1 channel, but the view made up for that. Make sure you use the extra floor heater along with the fire place because the fire place only heats a portion of the room. All in all it was a great experience especially if you want that Hollywood vibe.
