Eingebettet in Penobscot , dieses charming entire house für EUR 173 pro Nacht ist ein fantastic Auswahl für Ihr nächstes break. Das Haus liegt an einem ruhigen privaten Ort mit Blick auf Penobscot Bay. Western Blick auf Penobscot Bay für schöne Sonnenuntergänge über dem Wasser. 900 Fuß Uferfront, ruhige Lage mit privatem Deck. Ein Leuchtturm über die Bucht führt weiter einige große Schiffe nach Bucksport. Im Nebel hörst du den Nebelhorn alle 7 Sekunden. Der Strand ist ein toller Ort zum Wandern, Sammeln von Strandglas und Treibholz. Unsere Stammgäste mögen am Strand mit den vielen Formen und Größen von Treibholz, die sich waschen, bauen. Es gibt auch ein paar Seen in der Gegend, wenn Sie gerne etwas Süßwasser besuchen möchten.
Wir sind gleich Abstand zu Belfast, Bangor und Ellsworth. Kurze Fahrt zu vielen Küsten-Maine-Städten; 12 min zum Blue Hill, 7 min nach Castine, 45 min zum Acadia Nationalpark und 60 min nach Camden / Rockport.
Ich mache meine großen Lebensmittelgeschäfte Einkaufen in Bucksport, eine komfortable 10 Meile Land fahren.

Oct 2020We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Venessa’s cottage! Both she and her son Matt were very sweet and helpful to inform us about places to go in the area. The view is spectacular, and we were well situated to visit many wonderful towns in about an hour give or take. Nov 2020We had such a lovely time at Venessa's cottage! It was a last minute trip and Venessa was very accommodating. We were there to celebrate our 1st anniversary and the cottage allowed us everything we needed. The water view was simply splendid, especially at sunset!!! We took a walk on the beach and made some cool finds including a rock with etchings and a giant animal bone that washed ashore (and later washed away). Location was great with a grocery store and a few restaurants 10 minutes one way and Acadia National Park about 45 minutes the other direction with more shops and restaurants in between (just note, for those used to being in the city, coupled with right now being the off season and covid, things close earlier). We spent several days exploring and a few days just relaxing and enjoying the cottage. At the cottage you will find some books and games. There are a few tv channels that come in when the signal is good so if you have kids and plan on any tube time, bring along some dvds. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen had everything we needed. The layout is open and airy with a bedroom that opens up into the living room and two bedrooms upstairs overlooking the living room/kitchen. There were a few lady bugs in the cottage that greeted us which we took as a sign of good luck for our anniversary :) It is quiet, clean and beautiful. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat, this is the place. Venessa could not have been any nicer or more helpful. I would highly recommend her beachfront retreat and definitely hope to return sometime in the future! Thank you for having us and being such a wonderful host!! Weiterlesen

Sep 2020We had an amazing time here. The family was lovely, attentive, helpful, and the space was absolutely relaxing. We hardly left— we found we didn’t need to. The view from the porch was perfect, the beach was our own to wander across, the bed comfortable, the kitchen well supplied. Aug 2019We enjoyed the quiet cottage located at the end of the drive. Sitting on the deck that over looks the tide coming in or going out. Sep 2021We certainly enjoyed our week at Venessa's cottage. Once we unpacked and settled in Venessa came over and to show us little details of the cottage. She was very nice and welcoming as were her son Matt and his family who were visiting her.
The cottage isn't fancy but it is very comfortable and certainly fulfilled all our needs. As mentioned by others there are a lot of stairs down to the beach, however they are easy to go down. They are double wide which makes for great footing. Even at high tide you can walk the beach, and it feels very private. Only met people twice on the beach all week. The beach walk is great but do wear something on your feet as it is not a sand beach. On your walk you will find sea glass and see beautiful driftwood. While at the cottage we saw eagles and watched 3 seals playing in the water. We brought books with us, but didn't need to because of the great selection in the cottage. There are also kids books, puzzles and some games.
We did take some short trips to Bucksport, Castine and Deer Isle/Stonington but mostly were content to stay at the cottage. We had a great stay and know others will too! Weiterlesen

Oct 2021We absolutely fell in love with this place! It is equipped with everything you need, the view is unbelievable. About 40 minutes from Acadia, but it is nice to get away from the crowds and back to this peaceful place. Would absolutely recommend and stay again. Jul 2021This was our second stay. Last year when we came our grandson, then two, could not say Venessa and so she became ‘Messy’ to us. We love staying here. So peaceful and away from the crowds. Took walks on the beach each day, watched the Bald Eagles from the deck. Not far from towns if you need anything. If you want a holiday that has a little bit of everything. This is the place. Vanessa, we loved being able to spend some time with you and get to know you a little more. Needless to say our grandson loves you! Staying here with a little one is perfect. Everything you need is here the kitchen has it all too!

Aug 2020This was a Our first whole family vacation to Maine. We were looking for something quiet and on the water, but close enough to drive and explore other areas. Communication was perfect from the get go, checkin easy, anything we needed was provided and Venessa is next door for any other questions. The house was perfect for out 2 little boys, there’s a baby gate for the stairs, our 14 year old had her own room, there are books, games puzzles, toys, WiFi, dvd/vhs combo and a charcoal grill. The view from the deck is superb Great for sitting while the kids were napping and was idealfor stargazing when they went to bed.Our days were spent walking the beach looking for sea glass, stacking and skipping rocks with a family evening fire directly on the water watching sunsets and catching a glimpse of all the wildlife. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for out trip and would love to come back making more memories with the kids at what Mason calls his Camp house. So thank you Matt and Venessa for everything. Aug 2021This is our second stay here 2 weeks this time. Each visit has left a lasting impression on the whole family. The sunsets, berries, large deck, well kept property and having Venessa next door whom is always accommodating, knowledgeable about the area and great with our kids. They just loved Memessa as they called her and their camp house as they called it. The perfect place to unwind and the perfect place for exploring. Nov 2018This house is in the most beautiful location, right on the water. It's well equipped, quite comfortable, attractive, and well kept. If you tire of watching the water, you can watch the flames in the cozy wood stove, which was well stocked with wood. The view is gorgeous. There is solitude here and an otherworldy feeling (in a good way!), but it's very close to small towns and neighboring houses (although you don't see them). There is lots to see and do in the area. Oct 2021Our only disappointment was that we couldn’t get to the beach because the fifty steps to it were steep and not great. We were looking forward to that. Jun 2022My family of six (2 adults, 4 kids age 5–16) thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this lovely small cottage. As long as you do not come expecting modern amenities/furnishings or to have any privacy from your other guests, this is a perfect, off-the-beaten-path rental. It is a drive to hot spots like Bar Harbor & Deer Isle, but most of the roads are scenic with plenty of lobster shacks along the way. My younger children loved combing the shoreline for beach glass & there is plenty to be found. By the end of the week we were so relaxed, we didn’t want to leave. Jul 2019I stayed here for a week with my two kids 5 & 7. We had a fabulous time- endless exploring on the beach, trips to Bucksport for a movie, Castine for exploring and eating out, Ellsworth on a rainy day, pond swimming at the hatchery pond. It's a great location.
The internet was basically useless but I'm not complaining because it was nice to take a break from it but be prepared for spotty service. All in all a great time and a lovely hostess.
