Das Haus war auf Kanabs 2011 historischer Heimreise.
Das Haus befindet sich zwei Blocks von der Innenstadt von Kanab entfernt auf neun Zehntel Morgen. Das Haus wurde 1929 von Brigham Adelbert Riggs Jr. erbaut, einem Mitglied einer der ersten Pionierfamilien in der Region. Er war Rancher und handwerklich auch Steinmetz und formte jeden Ziegelstein aus dem roten Lehm, der am Kanab Creek gefunden wurde.
Das Haus verfügt über vier Schlafzimmer (drei mit Königinnen und eines mit zwei Zwillingen) und ein Bad, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, ein Esszimmer (Tisch wird auf 12 erweitert) und ein Wohnzimmer im Erdgeschoss. Auf der zweiten Ebene befindet sich ein Schlafzimmer Suite mit Queensize-Bett, Sitzecke mit Futon und neuem Bad. Entspannen Sie auf der Veranda oder auf der Terrasse, wo Sie grillen und den Bergblick genießen können.
In den 1920er bis 1990er Jahren wurden im Gebiet Kanab Hunderte von Filmen und Fernsehserien gedreht.
Der Regisseur William Wellman soll Kanab Little Hollywood genannt haben, weil die Anwohner bereit waren, in seinen Filmen mitzuwirken. Viele Riggs Familienmitglieder hatten diese Gelegenheit. In einer ruhigen Nacht können sich die Gäste entspannen und einige der Filme auf DVD ansehen.
Kanab ist ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt, um Süd-Utah zu erkunden. Der Nordrand des Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce und das Best Friends Animal Sanctuary sind nur einige der vielen landschaftlich reizvollen Gebiete, die es zu besuchen gilt. Eine besondere Zeit für einen Besuch in Kanab ist während des Western Legends Roundup normalerweise das letzte Wochenende im August.

Jul 2019What an awesome house! We were impressed with the cleanliness of the house and the ease it was to rent the property. Our grandchildren enjoyed the games and activities that were found in the cupboards. The yard was well keep and next time we rent this house, we will need to bring lawn games to take advantage of the beautiful weather!

Aug 2019We spent 8 days in Lynn’s house with my wife and our 3 children. The house is just great! First of all, it is really clean and well handled: the house is very charming and in very very good condition, it is all equipped with everything you need in a rental. Then it is big, inside and outside, with plenty of space. The garden is beautiful and very large, our kids loved it. You will see a lot of hummingbirds which we loved taking multiple pictures of :-). Our kids really loved playing outside in the garden.
Also, we were afraid of the heat before coming but we actually did not not suffer at all, thanks to the huge trees in the gardens, much appreciated!
The location of the house is great: in Kanab, close to everything, but in a quiet area.
Yes we loved this house and we we would definitely rent it again if we come back in the region :-)

Nov 2021We loved staying in this beautiful historic home. It was perfectly situated for our sight seeing at the Grand Canyon, hiking in nearby Vermilion cliffs and Paria canyon. All the comforts of home.

Mar 2021We had an amazing time at this beautiful home. It was perfect for our family (1 baby & 1 dog), close to many hikes, exploring and convenient to town for any necessities. The kitchen was fully stocked so we really enjoyed cooking meals in, relaxing and admiring the surrounding red rocks from the front patio & backyard. We have an excellent time!! Weiterlesen

May 2019We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful older home that reminded me of my Grandmother's house. The only reason I gave this home a four star rating is that the two downstairs double mattresses were old and sagging in the middle and a couple of the pillows were lumpy. The other mattresses were OK.
I'd also like to suggest that the microwave be replaced as the display no longer functions making it difficult to use and your cleaning crew needs to remember to clean the top of the range exhaust hood as it had a layer of grease and dust on it.
I hope to stay here again.

Oct 2021Very nice house to stay in. Plenty of space for everyone. There were only 4 of us an a dog so we only used two of the 4 bedrooms. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans and even has some spices! The yard is nice and spacious and feels very private, but if you have pets it is not enclosed. I am hoping to stay again. Jul 2021Very much enjoyed this house. Everything as advertised. Tons of room for our family of four. My daughter appreciated having her own private upstairs suite. We particularly enjoyed dinners on the patio, with an easy stroll to town afterwards. We used as a base for Bryce, Zion and Grand Canyon. Kanab seems about as a good a location as there is to access these National parks. Zero negatives with this rental, and I would highly recommend. Weiterlesen

Mar 2019This was a very comfortable home and we had everything we needed. There is a lot of space and everyone loved it. The location was great for driving to Zion and Bryce Canyon. Jul 2021This property is a perfect central location for a southern Utah/northern Arizona adventure. We were able to walk everywhere in Kanab from the house which as an added bonus (restaurants, grocery store, drug store etc). Additionally, it has loads of charm and everything you need for a perfect stay. Just a note that the property lists "air conditioner" but there probably isn't an option to check swamp cooler. It's not a big deal, just know it's kind of all or nothing in terms of cold or hot since the thermostat doesn't work great. You'll need to play with it, but it's certainly not a deal breaker - we would still choose this house again. Also, just a helpful note for the owner that the freezer smells a bit like mold and needs a deeper clean. The rest of the house was spotless and very clean. Weiterlesen

We stayed 5 nights and during the days managed to travel to multiple parks and historical sites, all within a 3 hr drive, and still had time to wander around Kanab shops and restaurants. Highly recommend the Sand Caves (Rte 89), the Navajo tour of Antelope Canyon AZ, and the virtual helicopter tour of the area at Wigwam shop in Kanab! Weiterlesen

Sep 2021Six of us stayed at the house over Labor Day weekend and had a great time. The house has a nice yard and outdoor tables and we spent most of our time out there. Great location- pretty neighborhood, quiet, and walking distance to downtown. We are planning another trip there next year and will hopefully rent the same house! Weiterlesen

Note: This house has central evaporative cooling (not air conditioning). Not a problem for us in May since it was cool at night but could be an issue on a hot and humid day in July/August. Also, the dish washer is very small (like from an RV) so expect to be doing dishes by hand if you have more than 2-3 people. Still a 5-star place though. Weiterlesen

Jul 2020My family stayed here for four nights. It was nice and convenient. There were enough beds for our family and the yard was large enough for our extended family. We arrived late afternoon and found that the house had not been cleaned from the previous guests. A call to Lynn and the problem was promptly resolved. The beds were comfortable although we found the cloth bedding to be restrictive and grabbed at our pajamas. The main floor bathroom slopes a little. The central evaporative air conditioning worked well and kept the home cool and comfortable. Overall we liked this VRBO and would stay here again when we’re back in Kanab. Weiterlesen

Aug 2020Had a great time at this charming home! Came to Kanab for a small music festival and to get away from Las Vegas. The house was warm and felt like home after a day of being there. Being able to sit on the front porch and watch the road and drink coffee was a simple but welcomed joy. The best highlight was watching the hummingbirds cone to the feeder ,right outside the kitchen window.
The people in town were very nice ,especially at Glazier's grocery . Everything does close early though, so plan to be in around 10pm or midnight at the latest! Weiterlesen

Quiet, easy check in, and had everything we needed and more.

(Though we did not get any time to watch). Kids enjoyed the Loft made it their own. The owner gave us the instructions which were very accurate.

Feb 20204 adults and 2 young children- we stayed here for the Hot Air Balloon Festival. It was the perfect place to settle and explore from. Close to downtown (walking distance) and a short drive to other area attractions (Zion Nat'l Park, Page, Horseshoe Canyon, etc).
