Jul 2019While the location was great, and the size of the home perfect, the stains on carpet and furniture were a bit off-setting. Some of the stains were from food, and there were "chunks" left behind on couch, etc. Also, who puts carpet in bathroom? Smells moldy and musty in master bath because of this. Was unable to use what would have been a great deck because of the state of disrepair, and grounds (2.5 Acres advertised) were unwalkable, as it was covered with overgrown weeds. I guess the worst was the blood stain on master bedroom matress pad when we went to put on sheets...I mean, I understand if you couldn't get the stain out (as company said), but then leave off, or buy a new one. For the amount of money spend, would have stayed at a resort instead. Place needs A LOT of TLC.

Jul 2020Upon our arrival I emailed the owner about the condition of the house however they never responded or acknowledged that there was a issue.
Does not appears that they owners have a professional cleaning company that cleans the house?
Renters SHOULD NOT be charged a cleaning fee especially when the renters have to clean the house when they arrive.
The owner emailed me and asked if we could check in a couple hours late & we
were very understanding when the owner asked if we could check in a couple hours later then the normal check in so that that house could get cleaned. It is very disappointing to find The sofa is broken, stuff on the living room floor, stains on the sofa, the master bathroom shower has mold, bathroom counters & toilets were Very dirty & the grill is not something I would cook on. The deck is very unsafe to walk on & the grass needs to be cut, at least a path to the firepit.
This is not the first time that we have rented homes & we never experienced anything like this before.
The owners, Home away from home (Envolve, VRSBO) Should be ashamed of themselves to allow a home in such bad condition to be listed for vacation rentals!
Especially with COVID-19 this is really unacceptable.

Michael thought that the guest before us may have downloaded lots of movies. He was right and within an hour we were ready to go!House met all our needs. Past reviews stated that supplies were minimal- no way - there was an abundance of supplies. House is tired and could easily be made top notch. As we left I called Michael to report that a ceiling light in the master was hanging by a wire. Michael was so concerned that I feel sure it has already been repaired.

Jan 2022This was a very comfortable place to stay for a long weekend. It's central to Door County, on a very quiet wooded street. Fully equipped kitchen. We were here in winter, but it was clear the house has great outdoor space. We rarely watch TV but we loved watching movies on the big screen TV, using the DVD player, and sitting on the sectional sofa. The house could use a little sprucing up in spots, but overall very comfortable. I would not count on having someone sleep in the loft if you're nearing retirement age like we are.

Jul 2018This home has so much potential but is not being taken care of. When we arrived it looked like it had been vacuumed but our granddaughter was picking up food she found on the floor, the kitchen had not been scrubbed either. There was macaroni spilled in the living room which we cleaned up. I vacuumed the kitchen floor but we had to clean out the vacuum cleaner first. The refrigerator had to be wiped out and something was spilled in the freezer also. There is a big wrap around deck but it desperately needs to be stained. We liked having a garage to put the car in but that has not been swept out in a very long time. The side yard has some room to play in but the front yard needs landscaping. Also the one grill is broken and unusable. It is close to town and we liked the space the house has, the kids had their own bathroom and bedroom upstairs which was nice. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. Also the TV in the living room is huge but using pot holders to keep it in place is not safe. There is a large master bedroom and bathroom but it is time to get rid of the carpet in the bathroom. We have stayed in several VRBO homes and they were all very nice places. Unfortunately this was not one of them. We love Door County and were really excited as this was our first vacation with our granddaughter. Other than the condition of the home we had a wonderful time as we love this area!

Jul 2018This Charming house, has a lot of potential but needs a handyman. The kitchen island counter top was not attached to the cabinet below and kept sliding off. The screen door was broken. The hot & cold water in the upstairs bathroom shower was connected backwards. The keypad electronic entrance had a low battery and did not function.
The beautiful wrap around porch , had numerous deck boards that were rotten and needed replacement. Both Bar-B- Que outdoor gas grills were not functioning. Water dripping under kitchen sink. The outdoor fire pit was filled with broken glass.
We e-mailed the contact on arrival with this list of issues but "She was would not be back in town for 4 more days."

Jul 2022This cabin was perfect for my wife and I and our dog. We booked it somewhat last minute and picked it because it allows pets. About 5 minutes from town and the water. Fire pit out back was nice. There was some wood on-site which was great, but there is wood for sale on just about every road you go on if you need more. You aren't too close to another house either. Would recommend.

Oct 2018The location of this cabin is outstanding. Very secluded and in the woods. Great proximity to the downtown of Egg Harbor. The bedrooms are very comfortable and it's nice to have two masters with bathroom attached. The kitchen was adequate and the family room had a nice large screen TV with great seating. The Wi-Fi was slow, but the cellular services in Door County are terrible in general. Cabin can use a little updating with some additional kitchen items, and maintenance needed on the porch. But very clean overall and I would stay here again.

There were a few issues we encountered the first day including a gas smell coming from the outside hose which we emailed about but never got a response. The rest of our stay was nice and the location was great for being away from the busy town but close enough that we could get anywhere without a lot of drive time. Once we were home, I emailed the contact again with issues we had and they had a quick response and were already looking into the gas leak. Aside from the few issues we had, the house was ready for guests and was a good place to get away to!

Oct 2018The house was nice and matches the description on the site. Being away from the touristy areas was nice and the trees were beautiful. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove, though it might be in the owner's best interest to include some sort of little guide manual on how to operate it properly. We ended up googling instructions to make sure we used it correctly. Also - if you want to use this awesome feature you need to get your own firewood. Kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were fine (though there is carpet in the master bath...). The first day we ended up without hot water in our showers, so be careful in planning who can shower when because the boiler can't handle more than one person at a time - if that.

Aug 2018The house is great and it sits on a lovely parcel of land. It's located close enough to civilization but remote enough for total quiet and relaxation. We spent lots of time relaxing on the spacious deck - coffee in the morning and wine in the evening... where we were visited several times by hummingbirds. Great that we could bring along our Labradork, who found plenty of great things to sniff. Almost got a wild turkey! Property appears to be well managed and clean. Loved that we could park in the attached garage. We would definitely consider booking this property again.

Jan 2018The house is absolutely beautiful and had all the conveniences to make for a perfect stay. We stayed with our two dogs who enjoyed the dog park nearby. Special thank you to the owners for sharing their home with us and being so responsive. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Aug 2018Setting was nice and peaceful but the property needs love. Generally speaking it was unkempt and unclean. Main level flooring dirty. Sectional sofa covered with stains. When coming up steps visualize leaves and dirt under futon. Nail holes all over that haven’t been repaired or painted. Blinds in downstairs damaged. Deck UNSAFE to walk on with a few holes and one area outside the door covered with a rug that could feel boards give when walking across. Steps leading off deck uneven and a couple of us nearly fell. TV held in place with rubber oven mits. Decor a combination of beach and cowboys with a little Christmas still hanging out. Dead plants on deck. We stay at many VRBO and found it lacking in the amenities .....one towel for each person, that didn’t match. NO washcloths, No dishcloth. One dish towel only. Internet very slow. Garage door opener would have been helpful. So...not. Up to our standards and wouldn’t recommend to my friends.

Oct 2018Only negative comment is I tripped in your driveway over a green wire that was partially buried. I have banged up knee and sore ribs. May want to bury that wire completely. Also, maybe stock kitchen with zip lockbags. We really enjoyed your place. Thank you.

Jun 2018Nice home but need a few updates like painting the patio, making sure the fire pit is cleaned up. We had to rake a bunch of glass bottles, tim cans and light bulbs with broken glass out and away from pit so the dogs and we didn't get cut or hurt. The kitchen floor wasn't clean when we got there. The TV in the living room is propped up against the wall and with rubber oven mitts. Overall the place was beautiful but just needs a few things tweaked and it will be perfect!

Sep 2022My spouse and I have made a trip up to Door County almost annually since 2001. We’ve never had a bad rental property, EVER. This year we went to Door County with our neighbors for an extended weekend - their first time to Door County. The house was just…I don’t even know where to start, it was dirty…crumbs on the kitchen floor, the stove was filthy, and dirty dishrags were left in the sink. It smelled clean, but then I noticed several air fresheners throughout the house. I’m fairly certain the flooring is rotten beneath the carpeting bevy it doesn’t feel secure and you feel yourself sinking into holes in both the primary and upstairs bedroom. We couldn’t enjoy the deck for fear of further breaking the already broken slider in the main room. We couldn’t use the other slider for fresh air due to there being a golf ball sized hole in the screen door. Neither the home or the property appear as in the pictures on VRBO. The house has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but whomever the handyman or caretaker is could benefit from either watching some YouTube videos or hiring a good contractor to repair the house. Doors didn’t fit the door frames, decking screws were used for the baseboards, decking screws held up the fan in the bathroom, baseboards were used as as crown molding around the ceiling. Outside garbage cans were so full, we could barely fit the garage we had accumulated from our short time there. On a positive note, the air conditioning wasn’t working upon our arrival. I called the property contact and he responded immediately. The issue was promptly resolved. Mind you, we didn’t go to Door County to sit inside all weekend, this was simply a place to sleep, but it wasn’t comfortable and it ABSOLUTELY wasn’t worth the money we had to pay for a few short days. I feel like the joke was on us. It’s too bad I didn’t see the other reviews that were on VRBO until after I had booked this home.

Oct 2018Loved the fact that the cleaning service texted us to tell us the house was ready. That being said, the house was not only perfectly clean, but even smelled clean! Kitchen was well stocked and both beds were very comfortable. Loved both the area and the privacy.

Nov 2017I loved this home. It was beautiful inside. Needed a few minor fixes. The owner was great to deal with. I sent her some pictures and she was happy to have them. There was a little snafu with the cleaning service-something totally out of the owners and management companies hands however there was not back up plan. They did however make it right for me and I appreciated that.
The location is great-about 12-15 minutes to either bay or lake side. There is a sizable master suit on the main floor. Upstairs has a great bedroom with two either queen or double beds with a private bath. There is also a futon on the loft. The outside porch was a great place for coffee in the AM and a glass of wine in the evening. The description states there is an outside fir pit, which actually just is some stones around an area in the grass. Not very appealing so we did not use. There is a working wood burning stove inside. I recommended to the owner & management company to have a booklet of how tos: work some of the lighting, the TV.... I went with my two dogs-place is dog friendly for an extra fee. Jun 2019House is very nice. Master bed and bath very nice, coffee maker did not work correctly, took over an hour to brew. Need a rocker in the living room, I love to rock while I relaxe after a fun day in door county. The wicker one is shot.

May 2018Excellent place to stay for a weekend away. It was convienently located near Egg Harbor for things to do yet secluded for privacy and space for our group to enjoy ourselves. Everything was clean, bedding/linens/kitchen supplies fully stocked making it easy to come and stay without having to bring all of that with. Very clear contact information, check in/check out for ease of that as well. Highly recommend if you are in need of lodging for a family or group of friends to check it out. Very reasonably priced for the accommodations!

Oct 2022Big disappointment. Overpriced property. Sloppy paint job, poor tiling and floor installation, exposed drywall, screens that don’t slide, poor quality workmanship throughout. List goes on.
