Castaway Duval Straße Reihenhaus

This location was at the quieter end of Duval Street, a 20 minute walk to Mallory Square and surrounded by options for food, bike rentals and cuban coffee! This was spacious and had plenty of towels and basic amenities to make this a comfortable experience.

The townhouse is close to the southern most point, so it is at the end of “the action,” but still a great location. The listing states this property has A/C and ice maker. It has A/C, but upstairs bedrooms have individual units to supplement the main A/C. The master has a window unit that barely cools and the other bedroom has a standing unit that cools very well! No ice maker on property, but there are ice cube trays and they freeze quickly. Hair dryer in the master bath did not work. Everything else was great. Yes, it is a bit dated, but we weren’t there to sit inside! Great location, great unit, had a wonderful time!

The property needs updating. It took us quite a while to get the tv working. The AC downstairs didn't get very cold. The owners were very responsive, and the price was good.

The place was very comfortable. The pool area was nice. There was an issue with the tv in the smaller bedroom. We called the owner and he sent a person to try to fix it, but the issue couldn't be resolved during our stay.

The place is in a nice location. The directions were easy to follow. The elevator was broken the entire stay so that caused some problems. The pool was nice.

The location is spectacular. We walked everywhere. Everything was in perfect working order and the one small problem we had was quickly resolved when I called the number they provided. The only complaint is that the decor could stand to be updated. It’s very 80s. But for a week long getaway, it worked perfect!

The location is on a second level above retail. Which is safe and secluded but painful at checkin time. The location is f really nice with access to all things in Duval St. Yes, the decor is totally out of date but the cost and location trump the decor. Unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the condo…it is less of an issue.

Prior communication regarding the rental was great. Directions to the condo were spot on. The directions stated to access the key from lockbox C. The lockbox was not labeled with a C, it was blank. All seemed well when we arrived. The condo could use a thorough cleaning. It is only surface clean at best and you really can't even say that. Our first morning, we noted many sugar ants in the kitchen and living area. If the condo was clean, the ants wouldn't be present because there would be nothing for them to eat. A load of clothing was done and gum was either previously in the washer or dryer as it got on clothing we washed. There were six of us and none of us chew gum, so it didn't come from our pockets. We also had a cockroach that greeted us upon awaking. The hot tub had not been properly cared for as it smelled like a minnow bucket with dead minnows. We are familiar with hot tubs as two of us have them. Needless to say, no one used the hot tub. I called and left a message with the person I previously corresponded with at 8:09 am our first day of a 3 day stay. I asked if it was possible to get some ant killer and let her know about the cockroach and the gum. We never heard back from her. I would not stay or recommend staying here due to the uncleanliness of the condo, the bugs and the poor communication after check we checked in.

Plan to have the directions at hand when you get there. The condo is tucked away but the directions made sense once we arrived at the Duval Square shopping area (pull all the way in to the back of the parking area). It can be a little noisy in the morning, but the roosters will be making noise anyway! It is an older condo, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The pool area was nice and all common areas were well maintained. I called the number we were given with a quick question as we were leaving and got an answer right away - very helpful!

Overall our stay was good. Place is roomy. Only complaints were that the MBR ceiling fan did not work and we were woken up one morning very early by the trash dumpster being emptied. Other than that, the owners were responsive, the place has everything you could need, great location, for a 2 bedroom condo in Key West, it is worth it!

Loved our stay! Close to everything and still felt like home. Pool was a nice amenity. Will be back!

Location can't be beat. Quiet, yet close to everything. Perfect for our getaway.

Just the right place to stay if your going to party or drink everything there in walking distance . Fun time.

If we were going back to Key West I would stay here again. The property is in an excellent location for almost any Key West Activity. The accommodations were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was better than expected as we had it almost entirely to ourselves the whole time. Only a couple small issues. The checkin process or arrival process is a bit complicated but the owners did a terrific job of communicating with us so we had no issue. The light on the stairway did not work. I changed the bulb and this did not fix it. I notified the owner so I suspect they fixed it by now. Finally, my wife and I had the back bedroom and whatever is back there began making loud banging noises @ 4 am every morning.. we could hear loud voices and metal banging but it usually didn’t last long. On our last morning it did keep going for quite a while. In fairness I believe this is beyond the owners control. I am a morning person anyhow so not a deal breaker for me.

Great owner to book with , but cleanliness is a issue , spare room sheets never washed, stunk had to wash at 9pm that night. Shower curtain moldy something brown all over kitchen and dining room floor. No light bulbs working,{ bought and replaced} dishwasher falling out of cabinet, refrigerator handle falling off.....I do understand being booked but for what you are charged it needs paint, a deep cleaning, and some Maintenace.Great location and condo could be really nice .

Great location. Wonderful restaurants close by. So was a Circle K and a CVS. Directions on how to park the car were confusing and incomplete, but we figured it out. The townhome was comfortable and clean.

Good experience except for continuous ants in the kitchen and living room

First time in Key West for a family of 5 adults. We loved everything, had a great time. In same complex as our stay was a bottomless mimosas for $8. So for $40 the entire clan got bombed for the whole day. Priceless!!!!!

Exceptional location with easy access to everything. Perfect if you’re looking to walk & bike without driving. Master bedroom is somewhat noisy from street noise. Signs for tree iguana are real! I saw him! He’s big!

Everything was as described. Clean and functional. Great location. Nice facility with pool. I would book again.

Cute property in the heart of Key West. A bargain for location, 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths!!
