Aug 2022We killed a number of ANTS in the cottage. They seem to be able to get under the outside door from the kitchen . I was also surprised there was no fire extinguisher. It should have been made clear that one must supply their own bed pillows.

Sep 2021We had a fantastic time at the cabin. It was very close to the beach and the lake was perfect. Shelly and Scott were great hosts and every time we had a question they answered quickly. Zero complaints. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Sep 2020We found that the cottage was good for a group who liked varied activities. There was easy access to sightseeing, the lake and groceries. Scott was very helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed the peddle boat. It would be helpful if directions for parking included turning down Nagaya street to get to back parking at the cottage.

Jul 2022This was our first time staying in a cottage with our 2 and 5 year old and it was stunning! The beach is a 30 sec walk and it's a lovely spot. The cottage is beautiful and so cozy, it flet like home to us. We love how the cottage had everything we needed! So we didn't have to pack much. Shelly and Scott are amazing people and very helpful, it was super easy to get ahold of them if we needed anything! It was a pleasure to stay at uncle Tom's and we hope we can again soon!

Aug 2021The satellite TV was a lot of fun, the fire pit set up is very nice, and the dock two minutes walk away is just beautiful for a moonlight stroll. The cottage is also very first to Gravenhurst, which my spouse and I explored for the first time.However, I’m not sure how well the place is cleaned between guests because we found tons of pet hair when we’d sweep at night and there was pet hair on a bunch of cushions in the front room. Also, there were mice - we ended up using the second fridge on the property as a ‘pantry’ but that didn’t deter them from scurrying around and making noise at night and leaving surprises for us in the morning.Also, the wi-fi cut off after a stormy day early into our stay, so that was frustrating, with no fix despite texts from the owner saying he’d check the antenna, etc.

We got to go to Santa's Village and the Elmvale Zoo! Lots of activities around to explore and have fun with the kids!Thank you so much for a great cabin experience. We will absolutely be returning

Aug 2021The owners of this cottage, Shelley and Scott were wonderful to deal with. The cottage was extremely clean, well appointed, cosy, lots of room, and only 10 minutes to Gravenhurst, which is a pretty town. The beach is a 3 minute walk, and the water is very clear and warm! We LOVED our stay, and are booking for 2 weeks next summer. We can’t wait. We loved everything about our stay, except it wasn’t long enough!!! Thank you Shelley and Scott.

Sep 2021The cottage was very clean & easy to get to. However there is no direct lake view as advertised in the ad. To get to the lake was a good 5 min walk from the cottage. We were a bit disappointed there were only enough logs for 1 night and we ended up buying more for the 2nd night. However communication wasn’t too difficult with the host.

Sep 2021No complaints everything was perfect! It was very relaxing. Loved “uncle Tom’s” cabin. Had a comfortable warm feel to it. Such a nice beach area too. Everything is conveniently located. We only wished we booked a longer stay. We will definitely be back to this property next summer.

Oct 2021Had a great stay here, cottage was well equipped and had lots of space and things to do nearby. Went fishing, hikes, boats, canoes. Beach is literally a 2 min walk from the cottage. Could see all the stars at night! Had bbq and full nights of fire. Highly recommened, location is a gem :)

Oct 2022For the first time in years, my husband and I felt like we were actually on vacation. We were able to bring our two golden retreivers, Jewel & Marlie who are 13 & 10. Only being 1.5 hrs from home but you are far enough out of your area that you feel miles away. You would never know from the hwy that there was a small community of cottages/homes in this location. We are definitely booking again for next year.Absolutely a beautiful location, close to Gravenhurst, Bracebridge & Huntsville. Even did some Christmas shopping while we were there... Jul 2021Easy to find, easy to communicate with managers. Check-in process a breeze and they were very accommodating to us on short-notice. Cottage is as described - great for a rustic stay (this is not a "glamour" cottage - but also that's not what we wanted). Lake is great to swim - and literally 2 minutes walk away.
