We enjoyed our stay here. Alex was very friendly and responsive with whatever questions we had, he even helped my hubby set up bonfire, fishing/crab-catching cages. My 5 years old always wanted to go fishing, now with all the setups he was totally beside himself. If we went deeper into the beach there were horseshoe crabs, mussels, clams, and kid could pick up seashells/‘crystals’ as well.The room is mostly clean, we brought our own linens and kitchen stuff, nothing really worth our concern. Overall it is a great getaway for my family.

Very nice location for wildlife - turtles, horseshoe crabs. Can swim in bay from the house at low tide.

This was a great private getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Awesome views and layout! Loved the access to the private beach. We would definitely rent again.

Rented a weekend for a bachelor party and it was the perfect hang out spot. The photographs do not do it justice, this place is a hidden gem. Alex was very responsive and had all the essentials ready for our arrival. Members in our group absolutely loved the set up, i imagine they will keep this listing in their back pocket for future getaways. Five Stars. Thank you Alex

Really nice, comfortable house with multiple baths and beds, well-appointed kitchen, and a fantastic dock over the Delaware Bay. Backs onto a wildlife management area, so pretty secluded. A bird watchers delight.

Really a gem of a place on the bay at the end of a long road, really feel like you're at the tip of where the world ends. Secluded and quiet, sound of the waves at high tide at night. Lot's of bird life, Bald Eagles all day long. A real treasure of a place. Owner is helpful and full of good things to do, house is well appointed with everything you'll need.

Property is well stocked for basic cooking. Has more than enough towels, blankets, etc. Beautiful view of bay, outdoor tables/chairs. Good for families with older children.

Peaceful easy feeling

Our stay was very relaxing despite the fact that the tropical storm Isaias was making the water very rough. We were hanging out on the deck and fishing most of the time (not much luck, only caught a baby shark). We went into Cape May one day and had dinner at the Lobster House. Alex was very responsive to our inquiries (fixed the cable for the kids that the storm knocked out). Overall we had a great time!!!! Would recommend it.

Our family was delighted to find a place that would accommodate 7 adults comfortably along with 3 dogs. This house is at the end of a gravel road, with a conservation wildlife area on one side and the Delaware Bay on the other. There is a huge fabulous deck with plenty of seating. It was wonderful to sit and read and visit outdoors. Because it is a marshland it was often hot, muggy, and buggy... but not on the water. The ocean breezes made it quite comfortable to be outdoors. The youngsters in our group enjoyed going to nearby beaches and resort areas. The interior of the home was not as fabulous. The bathrooms were clean, but the rest of the place, including the kitchen felt like there was a thin layer of grime. We cleaned as we went and washed every dish before using it, making it work for us. The furniture is shabby, but adequate. Bring your own towels. There is a good dishwasher and washer and dryer as well. We had a wonderful time. The deck and being surrounded by water was fabulous. If you can handle the less than pristine interior and love sitting near the water or fishing or beachcombing, this might be the place for you.

New Jersey’s Best kept secret is on the Bayside. My husband and I had a most marvelous time here. I thought I had to go to Panama to be able to see the sunrise and the sunset from standing in the same place, but to my surprise you could watch the sunrise and then the sunset from the same spot. We had the most marvelous weather that week. The house was perfect everything one would need to have a excellent vacation. If you get the opportunity to stay here at Waterfront home on the ocean/bay you should definitely take advantage of it. Lifetime memories can be made here.

My family loved the location of the house. Truly a great place if you like to be away from it all. Very private and picturesque However, the owner sent me a bill on our last night for an extra $400. I paid my bill 100%. His extra bill ruined our last night of fun and relaxation. I spent an hour on the phone with VRBO and contacted he owner and he was was not helpful. All the owner told me was the price was too cheap and it was a mistake. If he told me this prior to our last night, I would have cancelled. He waited until the last night to tell us he wanted an extra $100 a night. I have rented many vacation properties and never had an issue or had to deal with an owner like this. The place was not clean (bring tour own pans and plates..), the cable was not turned on and instead of the owner dealing with it he gave us the account number and we had to wait on the phone for 40 minutes to get his service turned. The location was nice enough that we wanted to return. However, I will not rent from this owner again.

So peacefully tucked away at the end of Bay Ave. Our short weekend we saw it all; Bald eagles soaring, beautiful lighthouse, Monarch's, sea glass treasures, town of Cape May, and wind that brought in quite formidable waves for the Bay, but made for some awesome pictures. The smell of burning wood outside mixed with the sound of the waves brought back memories of fires on the beach. The home was very clean and had the same granite that I had in a prior home so, of course, I loved it. Thank you for sharing your home Alex. We were blessed to have a lovely fall weekend.

I would say that our family had one of the best vacations we can remember at Alex's property. The description of the house is accurate, and when we arrived the house was very clean. On the main floor is the "master" bedroom with a queen bed and the second bedroom is in an alcove off of the main living space behind a large pocket door which gives it privacy. There is also a full bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor there is a bedroom with a queen and one single bed, another bedroom with three single beds, and a full bathroom. We opted to rent the shed on the side of the house for a little bit of extra privacy (since we had a decent amount of people), and it was a great experience. There was an air conditioner, but we slept with the sliding door opened with the screen closed and enjoyed the sound of the water and the night wind. The house is amazing and Alex has thought of everything you could possibly need. There are plenty of chairs for lounging on the deck (sunning, reading, etc.), several umbrellas, stands for fishing poles at the end of the pier (as well as a cleaning station), a firepit right by the water, several kayaks underneath the house for guest use- the list goes on and on. Most of our days were spent just hanging out on the pier, fishing, kayaking, exploring the trails in the wildlife management area behind the house, watching both the beautiful sunrises and the sunsets from the deck, and the occasional dip in the bay. We also visited the East Point Lighthouse right down the street. Alex was a very responsive host and promptly answered any questions that I asked. He also gave great advice about places to visit, restaurants to order from, and things to do. If you are at all on the fence about renting this property I would suggest going for it. It was a perfect getaway and bonding experience for my family and we will definitely be looking to rent again.

I would love to rent this property again it was so relaxing we could fish, crab and just sit and watch the beautiful view while drinking our coffee.

It was such a nice getaway for us. We were looking for peace and quiet with shore towns were only 30 minutes away. We also were able to bring our dog.

It was great to get away from the everyday routine and visit this property. We were able to successfully disconnect from our day to day lives and enjoy crabbing, fishing, and bird watching (we saw a number of bald eagles!). The location of the property makes you feel like you are at the edge of the world and the views from the house are fantastic. We were also able to make use of the fire pit and enjoy some s'mores. However, there were a couple of things that would need to be improved for an even more enjoyable experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by a handy person who just finished staining the deck. While he was at the property, he managed to leave both sets of doors to the house open, which resulted in a huge swarm of about 40 flies inside. It took us about 2 days to kill them all. Second, the house was not very clean. There were crumbs on the table, the stairs and floors looked like they had not been swept or vacuumed in a long time, and the inside of the garbage can smelled terrible. I will say that both bathrooms were clean. Be aware that the property does not offer linens or towels. We did not see this posted in the listing but happened to ask the owner ahead of our trip. Finally, this property is deep within Trump country with countless flags and banners everywhere on the drive down. Just something to be prepared to encounter. On the flip side, we were able to bring 2 small dogs with us on the vacation and they had an enjoyable time and some new encounters with crabs. The owner of the property was very responsive to our questions and allowed us to check out 1 hour later than required, which was a very nice gesture.
