Vom Haus aus haben wir einen wunderschönen Blick auf den Berg Ruapehu. Die ruhige Umgebung bietet wichtige Trocknungsmöglichkeiten für Ihre Skiausrüstung und ein gemütliches Feuer für diese kalte Winternächte. <br><br>Das örtliche Schwimmbad, der Spielplatz, das Café "Angel Louise" und das neu eröffnete Dinosaurierhaus befinden sich alle im Dorf Raetihi. Aug 2021We really enjoyed our stay at the Barracks. We had everything we needed. The fireplace heats all the rooms really well and plenty of firewood was supplied. The check in and check out process was really easy.I would recommend this accommodation and we will stay here again.

Sep 2020We love the spaciousness of this house. The location is also nice eith a great mountain view and it's peaceful too. Kids enjoy the garden and bunk beds.

Aug 2020We had a couple of nights in 'The Barracks' in August and it was a great little place to stay. It's simple, but has everything you need, it's fully fenced, and super cosy. Get the fire cranking and follow the heat transfer system instructions and the whole place will be toasty even when it's sub-zero outside!

Jul 2020We enjoyed our second stay at Janet’s bach in Raetihi. This house is spacious and equipped with everything we needed, which is great for a hassle-free family holiday. The woodburner and heat transfer system kept us nice and toasty. A bonus is that there is enough space to dry all the ski gear by the fire. Thanks again Janet, we’ll be back.

Jul 2020Very happy with this accommodation for our short family ski getaway during the school hols. Property was spacious, warm and had everything we needed. Access was easy and communication with the manager was second-to-none. Extremely good value, and highly recommended for a group/family who don't mind being a short drive out of the thick of things in Ohakune.
One star dropped for cleanliness only due to the previous tenants not quite leaving it to the requested standard, but nothing we couldn't immediately rectify ourselves.

Aug 2021Our Family had a fantastic time staying here. The house had everything you'd want, we even found heaps of cool games and dvds. The kids now want to buy Twister. It was super warm and cozy and only 10 minutes from Ohakune which was a bonus for getting to Turoa Skifield.

Oct 2019Home is comfortable has all amenities needed, fire heats whole house really well, well stocked with crockery etc - everything needed.
Driveway to house is VERY rutted - it would not manage some cars.
An occasional full clean would not go amiss (not much dusting been done)
Overall very pleasant stay in quiet neighbourhood, great view of the mountain. :)

This would have been understandable (if not survivable) but two aspects of our booking were not done accurately.The house itself was adequate (they provided real coffee which the motel we moved to for our second night in Raetihi did not) but the driveway has very large stones which make driving on to the property difficult.
