Dec 2020We were looking for an easy Thanksgiving getaway, and this was exactly what we got. The place is easy to get to, but feels very secluded. There was plenty of room for a family of 5. We brought a lot of stuff for our Thanksgiving dinner, but we never felt cramped. The view of the lake is wonderful, and there's enough room in the driveway for the kids to play. Overall, we had a great time, and this place has gone on our list of places to come back to.

Feb 2020We spent Christmas week here with our teenagers and dog. The kids each had their own bedroom. We used the fireplace every day of our stay; plenty of firewood was provided. The property is secluded, but it is simple to get into town as needed. The frozen lake was beautiful. We had a great stay!

Sep 2021We really enjoyed our six summer nights at this cabin. Convenient to all and well-appointed. Great communication with hosts. Ogontz Resort really cool too! We'll return and recommend to friends!

Mar 2020We loved having plenty of sleeping space, spread out so everyone had privacy. The remote, yet convenient location made for excellent star gazing although Mother Nature only gave us one night of clear skies! Well stocked kitchen - loved having access to a dishwasher - not many cabins in the woods have this feature. Hope it's available next year for our annual get away with friends.

Jan 2021We had THE most wonderful time at the cabin. The house really is HUGE and comfortable, but we still felt extremely cozy. The view of the frozen lake was breathtaking, and the fireplace was a highlight of every night. There was certainly way more wood that we could ever burn, and the fireplace was ready to go when we arrived. Rick was quick to respond to all our questions, and Dave was readily available to come help us when we accidentally locked ourselves out of a bedroom. The kitchen is very very well-stocked, and there are plenty of places nearby to do winter activities. The pictures on this property's profile simply DO NOT do it justice. In fact, we took the liberty of taking a bunch of high quality pictures of the cabin that we would be happy to share with Rick should he reach out to us. THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY! and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Dec 2020We had a multigenerational stay. I appreciated handrails in one bathroom by the shower and toilet. Kitchen had crockpot, blender, coffee pot, electric tea kettle.
The wood was perfectly set up for the fireplace (bring your own matches) Most importantly a beautiful outdoors and lovely view.
We had some special needs and management was acomidating just enough time for a back and forth.

Mar 2021We felt instantly cozy and at home in this spacious cabin. The fireplace was all set up for us when we arrived, and while we were only 3 people there would have been ample space for a larger group. Would love to come back!

Dec 2020We enjoyed the private atmosphere of the property with the spectacular scenery. The house is spacious for a large family but was also cozy for the two of us with our dogs. The fireplace was set and ready to go when we arrived which was very impressive. House was clean and bed was comfortable. Littleton is about 15 -20 mins away and has everything you need along with some cool local shops. We definitely didn’t want to leave and would love to stay again!

Feb 2020View of the lake was really nice, many rooms, the bathroom and whole downstairs was recently done and very nice. The fireplace and supply of wood was a nice touch. Close enough to skiing and many other attractions. We visited Dog Mountain and stayed at this dog friendly house. Thanks.

Jan 2020Very relaxing, plenty of room for the whole family. We enjoyed sitting by the fire each night after busy winter fun. The only improvement that I would recommend is to replace the downstairs TV. The kids were looking forward to having a space to call their own but the TV is missing from the downstairs. Also if you have young children, be cautioned that the downstairs has several unfinished projects that may not be safe for very young children. Lastly, it was strange that there were no small pots to cook things like pasta or sauce.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. It was very cozy and comfortable, while still providing everyone their own space. There was snow during our stay and the plow truck came to plow the driveway in the morning, thank you for that! We would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the trails and lake.

Oct 2020This was a great place to relax in a beautiful setting and enjoy friends, nature, good food, and peace and quiet. The property was very spacious inside (lots of room for 4 adults and a child) and homey. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything we needed to cook, and we loved having beers by the fire place. Having the lake right there with trails and the canoe and kayak was great, and we also enjoyed exploring the local area. Would absolutely recommend and would visit again!

Aug 2020This was a good place for a summer getaway, especially in the midst of the pandemic. Sitting near Lake Ogontz, it is property owned and managed by Camp Ogontz, across the lake. The camp provided a canoe and kayak docked at the lake below the cabin, and the manager, Rick Doucette, was very responsive in helping with other items, such as additional life jackets. The path down to the lake is *very* steep and not for the physically challenged, but there is a good place at the swimming area on the west side of the lake to dock, so some of us would bring the canoe over there and others would drive around to the swim area (the lakefront near the cabin is not suitable for swimming). The cabin fit the 10 of us comfortably. It shows a bit of age, but Rick was very open to feedback for some maintenance suggestions, so I trust this area will show improvements. We had a great time cooking Smores over the outside firepit each evening and watching the stars, and the grandkids (3 to 12) had a ball swimming, canoeing and kayaking. One tip - to work the overhead fan in the living area, stand just a little off to the side of under the fan and point the remote control up near the center of the fan. Very enjoyable vacation time. Cell phone reception was pretty poor, but there was a landline phone that was usable, and the DSL wifi worked okay for moderate Internet access.

I would 100 percent run to this house every year and csnt wait to come again. The lake was awesome and so wasn't the ice fishing thsnks again to the property owners and we r excited to rent from u again in the near future.

Jan 2021This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this property during the winter. This is a beautiful place to spend with family/friends. It is the perfect get-away to unplug and enjoy nature and the quiet beauty that you find yourself surrounded by. I can no recommend this property enough. Perfect is an understatement!!

It was 0 degrees outside but the gigantic fireplace (with a plethora of wood on hand) kept us warm and cozy. Everyone from age 7 to 77 had such a memorable experience. Plenty of space to socially distance too! We will be back again and again!

Aug 2020This is a quintessential cabin in the woods. It’s peaceful, private and has beautiful views. The house is spacious and the layout is great for families (my 3 kids loved the downstairs game room and kept themselves busy there while my husband and I could drink coffee on the screened in porch). As other reciews have noted, the path to the canoe is very steep (too steep for one of my kids who has mobility issues) but it’s a short scenic drive to the camp which had lots of fun activities and views of the water. Rick is really responsive and the property is in good shape. We will plan to return for sure!

Jul 2020This is a beautiful property. The screened in porch looking out over the lake was a favorite spot for us. The cabin is gorgeous and spacious. The owners were very responsive and gracious. We loved the secluded spot and did a lot of walking. The firepit was all set up and ready to light! The lake is small, but beautiful. The loons visited every day! As did the deer! No AC, but there are plenty of fans. The hike down to the dock is very steep and the dock itself is small and not easy to maneuver. But that did not spoil our stay. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely consider returning.

Because it is part of the Ogontz Resort, we had access to all the resort amenities including canoes, kayaks, wood burning hot tub, all the hiking trails and much more. The views from the house of the lake and mountains are serene. As mentioned in previous reviews, the walk from the house down to the lake is rather steep but manageable. Although, this particular access to the water isn't suitable for swimming, it was easy to find spots for the dogs to jump in along the trails that surround the lake.We used the large stone fireplace many times and had plenty of wood for that and the fire pit outside. Overall it was a great experience and we will be returning. Don't forget your fishing pole...there are some monster bass in there!

We used electric oil heaters after that provided by the owners, but they kept tripping the breakers. It wasn't the owners fault, though we did lose a full day of our vacation waiting at the home for service to arrive and it could not be fixed.

Aug 2020The log cabin with a working fireplace and wood stove on a same level is located On the hill with a superb panorama of the lake and mountains. The property surrounding by trees is very neat with two kayaks and a canoe which are left with safe on a small port. That’s my recommendation for a family who wants a peace and privacy to stay for a.vacation as well.

Aug 2020The location is isolated as are most New Hampshire rentals - but that is what we come for. The home is roomy and well stocked, the view is beautiful and the lake access is wonderful. We hope to return!

Aug 2020The house could be amazing but it was dirty, (kitchen and bathroom) and one of the 2 showers didn't function. The bedrooms were clean and the place between lake and forest is amazing.
