Jun 2019What a great place to wake up to, the tranquility and seclusion of having the whole bay to ourselves and the great views made a wonderful setting. Cushla was very organised and also passed on a lot of knowledge for things to do (also loved the yoga session)
Great holiday had by all of us in a brilliant location.

Jun 2020We had a wonderful holiday with our young children at the Beach House. The house was immaculate and very well set up for a great holiday with everything you could need. The view was stunning and the location was fantastic just down the road from Russell. Cushla and Bruce were wonderful hosts even providing DUPLO for our youngest to play with. Highly recommended as a great base for exploring the Bay of Islands. We would love to come back!

Jan 2020We had an amazing week at this stunning property. The location is beautiful and the house immaculate. The children had a ball swimming and playing on the private beach. We enjoyed the full sun and quiet peach. Chushla and Bruce could not have been more welcoming. Loved it.

Oct 2022We had a fantastic stay at Cushla's property. The house was beautiful and well equipped. We weren't lucky with the weather but that didn't detract from our stay as the house was very comfortable with plenty of entertainment options provided (movies, books, games etc). Cushla kindly provided a cot and high chair for our toddler which was much appreciated. Communication was excellent and non-intrusive. It was lovely being able to just pop down to the beach right out the front of the house.

Apr 2021We could not have asked for a more beautiful or perfect place to explore the Bay of Islands. Comfortable, clean, spacious, private and the most beautiful view and glorious sunsets. We took walks, swam, and visited the sweetest donkeys. The incredible massages at the on-site studio set the tone for a relaxing weekend. We didn’t want to leave.

Jan 2019This is a gorgeous property. We enjoyed making full use of the waterfront, swimming, paddle boards and kayaks. The beds and linens were very comfortable and there was a high standard of cleanliness. This was a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the views of the Bay!

Oct 2017This is a fantastic property, with its own private beach and magnificent views. A high quality home, presented beautifully. Lovely furnishings, very clean and tidy. Great to have access to awesome kayaks and SUP boards too. Cushla was wonderful to deal with. We will definitely be back!

Oct 2022The whole experience and staying at the property was fantastic. From booking to the check-in our experience while we were there was perfect and we would not have changed a thing. For those love design the property is very well done. Every detail has been thought out and provided for - we really loved it I can’t wait to come back. We made use of the stand up paddle boards and personal yoga session and it made our stay very special.

Mar 2020The only negative thing I have to say is that I didn’t allow myself time to enjoy a massage. Location suited us perfectly, great views, lots of things to do, restful, beautifully furnished and appointed. We read some of the books, used the BBQ, did some day tours and generally had a wonderful five days. Would have loved a coffee pod machine but then it would probably be difficult to restock it. Thanks to the hosts.

Jan 2018The house was great for our family of 6. Very quiet (apart from the Weka’s and Kiwi’s at night) and super relaxing. The paddle boards and kayaks were well liked and well used. Bruce and Cushla were very helpful.

Feb 2018Lily Bay Retreat is an absolutely stunning location and like many other reviews, the photos just don't do it justice - you need to see it for yourself! The accommodation was a special occasion for us and had everything we needed including a few little extras. It's very private , peaceful and everything is immaculate. Highly recommend. you don't need to stay anywhere else!

Jan 2018Cushla Bruce and Family are truly awesome and could nt do enough for us! This truly idyllic place will be forever etched on our hearts. Such a private special piece of heaven. We will be returning when we can. My yoga and massage time with Cushla was amazing and was a real highlight for me in such beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend Lily Bay Retreat. A true piece of Heaven in the North.
