OVR Martha's Retreat-Cosy Rückzug mit 2 Häusern, Whirlpool und Pool! Min zu Ohiopyle!

The area we stayed in at Ohiopyle was great. Our family enjoyed Cucumber Falls, the Natural Water Slides, Kentuck Knob and Fort Necessity, all of which were very near to Martha's Retreat. The pool was WONDERFUL and very clean. However...1. Hot tub did not work2. Property overall is shabby and run down3. Fire pit area was a mess -- bear cans, broken glass, etc.4. No water pressure in large house -- one person couldn't shower and someone do dishes at the same time5. Small house -- no hot water; Maintenance did come twice, but were unable to fix6. Washer/dryer not working: did laundry in one house, then carried to other house to dry7. No towel racks or hooks in smaller house8. Water had a lot of iron was VERY rustyIf our family were to return to this area we would not stay at Martha's Retreat.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family traveled from 4 different states to spend a few days at Ohiopyle from July 5-July 9, 2017. We chose this rental because of the pool and location. We were definitely disappointed for a couple of reasons: The pool was not usable. When we arrived, it was about a 1.5 feet low and dirty. A hose was pumping water from the creek behind the property into the pool. The hot tub water was also too low to use. By the end of the weekend, the pool had filled almost to the top and was brown/green like pond water. Seeing as this is the lead image of the listing, I think this is absolutely inaccurate and should be fixed. Customer service is poor. I called the service line about the pool and was told I would receive a call promptly. I then called 3 additional times and was never contacted. I called a 5th time because of low water pressure in the small cabin and no hot water. Again, I received no call back. Someone did come about 1.5 hours later and changed the water filters. However, after that the water was brownish in the cabin. They wasted my time. After not receiving any callbacks, I requested a physical address so I could talk to someone in person. The service line gave me an incorrect address in Uniontown, which ended up being an unrelated business. I also went to the address on my reservation, which was a sort of run down house. So, I spent over an hour of my vacation driving around in addition to the hour total I spent trying to get a response about the pool. Some other notes about the property: The small cabin is musty. They have a dehumidifier, but it doesn't keep up. Otherwise, the cabins were clean and in a good location. Overall, I would definitely not recommend that people rent from OVR. They are great at marketing and getting you to rent, but not all that interested in your experience once you get there. We won't rent from them again.

Reviewer Comments: OVR was easy to work with, and kind enough to add a 'birthday balloon' decoration to the entrance to the driveway (which isn't otherwise terribly well marked). The property is very nice, but definitely more of a 'cabin' experience than a luxury stay. Like many mountain-type of houses, some of the rooms are musty and made a bit worse by chemical air freshener. The 'high speed' internet advertised was definitely not: don't count on being able to access things (I had noted a few hikes and restaurants, but didn't print details or directions ahead of time, assuming I would be able to download them while there) and both Verizon and AT&T signals are pretty weak. The pool is in good working order and quite lovely. The hot tub never got very hot. The road is slightly busier than I expected, and we could hear a party in the distance Saturday night - so not super remote, but we had a nice view of the stars on a clear night. We were all okay with the place, but I wouldn't necessarily rush back - just nice to have separate but nearly adjoined houses.

The house was pristine and well stocked. We just had to bring food and drink. We spent hours in the hot tub and pool after long days on the river, and made good use of the living rooms for game nights. The smaller cabin is absolutely gorgeous and everyone slept well, relaxed a lot, and we're impressed with the property.

The houses, pool, and hot tub were pristine. One of the kids looked my vehicle with the keys in it. Two men working for OVR management retrieved a coat hanger and were able to unlock the door in a few minutes. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit. My daughter told me that this was her best birthday ever. I truly want to return to Martha's Retreat.

Having never rented through OVR, we were not sure exactly what to expect, but upon arrival, we realized that we had nothing to worry about. <br/>The houses are in a great location and were both clean and maintained very well. Each house is bigger than they seem to appear in the photos! There is plenty of space for parking, and the shaded area under the large carport was nice. Kitchens were stocked with anything that we needed, and my husband loved the charcoal grill! The pool and hot tub were clean and there were plenty of chairs around the pool. <br/>We only had one very minor issue, which was resolved almost immediately. Realizing that two bedrooms had no air conditioning in the larger house, we called, and a window unit was delivered within an hour or so.<br/>Overall we were all very happy with our stay, and will likely rent from OVR again.

Plenty of room for all of us, clean, close to Ohiopyle, and also close to a small store. From first contact and answering questions to receiving our arrival information OVR was excellent to deal with. We also booked our rafting trip through them. Already looking forward to next year!

Family from Ohio and Philadelphia were hoping to chill in the pool and enjoy the homes. To our dismay, the pool was filled with algea and hadn't been cleaned in a while. The hot tub heating element had to be replaced. The property was listed as having a/c. The one home did. The other used window units and inefficient floor a/c units. One bedroom had only a fan and dehumidifier. The newer house lost water pressure during the week because the filters had not been changed and clogged.<br/>To their credit, the property managers were very responsive and in the end everything that could be fixed was. We looked beyond the issues and had a meaningful, fun reunion. The model of a central pool/hot tub was perfect. The quality of the parts was not. We liked the area and may return, but not to Marths's Retreat.

It is a good set up for bigger groups, we were 3 families with 9 people. I feel that was max. occupancy for us, it would have been to tight otherwise. I was a bit disappointed when we arrived how old the bigger house was and it was kind of musty and a bit dirty. It was ok for a three day stay and we had a good time but I probably wouldn't stay here longer than that. I felt the price was very high for how old and run down the house was. The smaller house seems to be nicer and newer. Kids loved the pool but there was a light missing and wire was sticking out right next to it. This property needs some updates and TLC than it could shine again.

Property was very hard to locate. Two houses; description online did not say two buildings. Communication & customer service was almost nonexistent; no reply when I called. House was dirty & musty smelling. Could not find controls for pool. Road sign needs to be perpendicular to roadway for easier location. Very expensive for what the property offered.
