Oct 2016You feel at home from the minute you step onto the front porch; grab your book and sit back in one of the rocking chairs. The bedrooms are pristine and the backyard a haven for gardeners. Roast marshmallows at night and watch hummimgbirds and finches at sunrise. This home will be your summer home and a place where your families' memories are built and recalled for years to come.

Aug 2017What a quaint comfortable home! The owner was so friendly and easy to work with and made us genuinely feel like she wanted us to enjoy the home as if it was ours - which we certainly did! I can't say there was anything we needed that wasn't there (except maybe a vegetable peeler - haha). The house is a bit of a walk down to the water, so be prepared for that, but once you get down there it's a lovely area with ample green space for picnicking, lawn games and swimming, We did not have a boat but if you did, there was space for that too! The weather was regularly cloudy during our stay so we did not get a clear view of a sunset down by the water but the one glimpse we did wet showed promise for a spectacular show if only the sky was clear!

Aug 2017We spent a week here with our college-age kids and really loved the house. It is very clean and nicely decorated. The owners put a lot of thought into providing everything we needed. We especially liked spending time on the front porch and in the back yard. We were glad we brought bikes for the short trip to the lake, tennis court, etc. We brought our boat for fishing and tubing/skiing and although we had to moor it away from the dock, which was a first for us, it worked out okay. We enjoyed the church service at Chautauqua Institution on Sunday morning. Our favorite activity away from the lake was hiking at Panama Rocks. We would definitely recommend this rental property!

Oct 2016We had a wonderful vacation at this home! It was perfect for our 2 families (including 4 kids)-- we especially appreciated the games/books/toys that were available, and having a pack and play on property definitely cut down on packing for our friends with 2 babies. The fenced in yard was safe for our kids to explore in, and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in the beautiful garden and bird feeders. My kids would say their favorite part was fishing off the dock and going for a boat ride in the dingy.
This is our 2nd year staying in this area, and I really loved the location. My husband and daughter took advantage of the nearby golf course. We spent lots of time on the swings by the lake, and my friend and I took a mom's afternoon at nearby wineries. It was a great stay, and we loved staying at this house.

Oct 2016We had a great 1 month vacation at this lovely, well appointed home. The decorating gave it a cozy, homey feel. The home is equipped with just about anything needed. The backyard was great for family barbecues and relaxing. The front porch was another wonderful place to gather. Reason for 4 stars is because it happened to be was one of the hottest summers for western New York and with no air conditioning it was very uncomfortable at times, but fans did help some. Despite the no air conditioning we are considering returning next year.

The house stayed at a very comfortable temperature even in July. The kitchen is stocked with most anything you need from dishes to pans and spices. There is a large front porch that is very pretty and has comfortable seating. There is a back patio where we ate dinner (family of 6 seated comfortably) a number of nights. The garden and backyard is beautiful. It is a very quiet, friendly neighborhood. The lake is clean and there is a floating dock for kids who can swim. The beach is not sandy. It is small rocks, but they are very smooth and rounded so dont really hurt your feet. There is a tennis court a block away that also has a pickleball net and racquets. There are lots of great restaurants fairly close. Between the lake and other outdoor activities fairly nearby, we had plenty of fun things to do for a week. I wish we had longer than a week.

Supplies were plentiful and the owners did a great job communicating and providing a wonderful place for our family reunion members to stay.Drawbacks were some of the mattresses were uncomfortable; was unusually hot and there was no air conditioning, and there were tons of bugs at the back door. But some of that cannot be helped and the charm of the house would bring us back again; we recommend!

Sep 2017The house is nice and there is plenty of room. The location is beautiful. We would stay here again. If traveling from afar - make sure to read the whole listing and decide whether you will bring your own linens, as there is an extra fee for linens.

Aug 2018Our week at this property was a wonderful experience. Although not on the waterfront, it did not matter one bit - we saw a lot of the lake while there. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and my sister who visited and is an avid gardener, spent a lot of time surveying the many flowers. The house is nicely decorated and well-maintained, the kitchen well-equipped. Thanks for the opportunity.

Nov 2015My parents, children, husband, and I took our first Chautauqua vacation in mid-October during the peak season for fall colors, and we had a wonderful time! The house was very spacious for the 6 of us, and cozy and comfortable at the same time. It was extremely clean (so my mother was happy), it had wifi (so my children were happy), it had cable (so my husband and father were happy), and it had a great, updated kitchen (so I was happy)! The house was very charming and well-decorated; I REALLY loved the curtains and rugs. It had everything we needed. The walk to the lake was short and beautiful on the brisk mornings. Staying at the Paul home at Point Chautauqua was just like staying at home...only cleaner and nicer! I would not hesitate to rent it again, especially since the price is such a great value for the area.

Oct 2017House is clean and has lots of character to it. We were all in a wedding, so we were pretty busy and didnt get to enjoy the house or the lake enough. We opted for the $75 'linen service' out of convenience. Its not really a service, its just linens are provided for you to make your own beds. Wasnt aware of that and made for a long day after traveling. Not sure why they couldnt already be made when we arrived, but not a huge deal. One upstairs bed wasn't comfy for the guests - they chose to leave after one night. For the rest of us, we were fine. Overall, this was our first HomeAway rental. Nancy made the process very easy to understand the rules and policies. She always replied very quickly which I appreciated! We were really glad she was able to squeeze us in her busy calendar for a short weekend. I would definitely recommend her and this house to other guests!
