Jan 2019Wonderfull setting, close enough to town yet far enough awa, lovleg warm accom, great walks and views, recommend you pack sandfly spray, totally recommend greaf for 2-4 people

Jan 2019We loved the house and its surroundings. A nest among beautiful trees close to Kaikoura. We were there for 2 days only, going in and out but the place deserves that you stay longer to enjoy it.

Dec 2018We loved the area very quite but the neighbours dog was a pain barking and the noise of the pump one night keep on going every ten minutes through the night didn't get much sleep over all its was good loved the goat had my toast with him

Jan 2019We had a great stay in this spacious and convenient location just a short dive outside of Kaikoura. The fire place was a hit, and our kids loved to feed Billyboy the goat. We also really appreciate the large garage to park our car. Very private section and safe garden for young kids

There is a little bit if maintenance needed we noticed from last time to now only minor but worth looking at ( lots of spider webs on windows) seal on shower door hanging off, bathroom sink needs the waste replacing, the heated towel rail bracket is cracked and will fall down soon, the range hood fan didn’t work and had oil dripping into the stove , everything else was great Thank You

Feb 2019We had a great couple of days in Kaikoura. Our 20mth old son loved the goat and sheep that were a couple of meters away from of the cottage! Its a great base only few minutes drive out of the township, well equipped! Thank u

Jan 2021We enjoyed our stay, and appreciated being able to bring our fur baby with us too! We loved the quietness of the country but nice and close to the town. Very comfortable. We did notice a lot of dead bugs inside, but other than that, very satisfied with our stay. Thank you so much!Shane & Hannah.

Jul 2020The house, location, and hosts were fantastic! Our kids loved visiting the friendly goat. The only downside was that we found the house hard to heat. I think the wood wasn’t fully dry (and it’s a large space for a column heater) - others have commented on how well the fire heats the house though, so it doesn’t sound like it’s usually a problem. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, thanks :-)

Apr 2019The house is well set up with comfortable furniture and good facilities. The good log fire with plenty of dry firewood warmed the house nicely in this cooler weather. For summer visitors the surrounding trees would provide welcome shade but did limit the winter sun.
Communication with Clare was helpful and easy.
We enjoyed our stay,climbed Mt Fyfe and explored the post-quake shoreline.

Dec 2018Since we had to endure five consecutive days of constant rain while in Kaikoura we were confined indoors most of the time. Hence we were enormously grateful this spacious cottage in its pretty rural setting was warm, comfortable, and so well appointed. Given the inclement weather having Sky TV and a log-burner with plenty of wood just outside the door were two big pluses. We would rate this accommodation 10 out of 10.

Enjoyed every bit of it. Location is situated well close enough to town and yet far enough away the city stress and traffic.
Cottage has everything needed, very well kept and organised.

We would not hesitate to stay here again, Billy boy (the goat) was a nice settler for the kids and also us adults. Thanks team for an excellent place to stay

Oct 2021Nice place. Just out of Kaikoura. Most things you need are there. Lovely setting. Could do with some net curtains of frosted glass in the bathroom. Also a few new bulbs would be nice. All in all had a great weekend.

A few extra amenities like a bath mat / handtowel would have been handy, but the basics are all there, including a coffee plunger hooray! Thanks for having us

Jan 2022Loved our stay at Magnolia cottage, lovely private rural setting amongst trees, friendly fantails and resident goat.Not far out of town, just far enough and equal distance between the northern and south of the peninsula beaches.Plenty of space, good facilities and friendly hosts and management.Would definately stay again.

It was so peaceful and idyllic, that we would have liked to have stayed longer than the 3 nights we had. We had everything we needed. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant!
