Jul 2020We were able to hike, boat, explore Deadwood, and visit Rushmore and Bear Country all from this location. Nice house, easy to find. We had a great time!

Sep 2022We rent from VRBO almost every where we go because we love a home feel and the convinces of a laundry and kitchen. The washer was broken the whole week we were there, so no laundry. The kitchen pots and pans were not suitable to use. The grill was filthy and unusable. The handle fell of the freezer with the first use. The upstairs bathroom has urine on the walls and the whole place needed a deep clean. It really needs a facelift from the interior paint that’s dinged around the doorways to the patio umbrella that was ripped and very faded. We paid twice as much as most units we usually rent because we wanted something extra nice for our family to enjoy together. It was barely just ok. This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, we debated to leave this one but I wish we would have known what we were getting for that price!

Oct 2020We really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice and clean and they had everything available a person could possibly need for making meals. Every appliance, kitchen utensil, foil, baggies, containers for left overs. I can't think of anything more they could have provided to make the stay better. Everything was as comfortable as home. They had a cabinet full of games and puzzles for all ages, my grandchildren loved it. We could have spent the whole time there and they would have been happy. The layout of the house was great for us to all have our own floor with our own bathroom. Plenty of towels, pillows, etc. The location was perfect for us with plenty of parking. Nice outdoor seating for nice days. They really put some thought into thinking of everything to make your stay wonderful. Thank you for allowing us to stay and make our vacation so fun!

Jun 2021We had a lot of trouble contacting Evolve. It was very inconvenient: The money was taken from my account almost immediately one month before and a confirmation was sent. But after that, no one contacted me. I patiently waited until 24 hours out. Call after call gave me the run-around. Finally, while en route and only four hours away, we were able to make contact. Hopefully, the conduit between VRBO and Evolve needs to improve. It shouldn't have been that difficult. I am praying that others do not have this same issue. The property itself, was awesome! We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Dec 2020We had a great visit. Loved the hot tub and the cozy atmosphere. It unexpectedly snowed 8 inches while we were there which was a fun treat! But, 4 wheel drive definitely needed to get up the hill with any amount of snow. This is a great house with lots of character.

Aug 2021We had a family of 7 and there was more than enough room. Everyone enjoyed the pool table and all the board games available in the pool room. We also enjoyed the spa in the evening and the kitchen was stocked with everything a normal kitchen would have which was very beneficial, since we cooked many meals. We even used the crock pot one day. We would definitely stay here again.

Jan 2020The place was very clean. Check in was simple with a code received a couple days before we arrived. Doug was very helpful informing us of things before we arrived, but the place was set up so well we did not need to contact him during our stay. The cabin had everything we needed. The four bedrooms were nice for some privacy for the adults. The pool table, dart board, and many games kept everyone busy when we were not skiing. The kitchen was large and it was easy to prepare meals for a large group. The garage allowed us a nice place to drop all of our boots and shoes to keep the house clear. Finally, the hot tub was great at the end of long days of skiing. We would definitely stay here again.

Aug 2019The house was as beautiful as the scenery out there. The pictures were a little deceiving in that, I thought the house and the rooms were bigger than they were. But, there was plenty of room for the eight of us (4 couples) to sleep and cohabitate freely.
The route to get to the house was gorgeous and the neighborhood was filled with beautiful houses. The roads however, being gravel, were not ideal for those of us on motorcycles, but they were not too bad.
Also, the app led me to believe that this was an air conditioned house; not the case. Although, the house stayed relatively cool during the day with windows open and fans on. Then the temperature dropped nicely during the evening hours and made for good sleeping.
The owners are great people who were easy to get ahold of and get along with.
In closing, if I were planning another trip to South Dakota, this would be where I’d want to stay. Definitely would recommend

Group 7 adults and 2 children. The home was comfortable, cozy, and had everything we needed. The deck was beautiful to sit on and enjoy the mountains. The hot tub was a bonus and the whole family enjoyed there time. We would highly recommend this home to stay.

Oct 2022Overall a nice place, No response to e-mails (not sure why they list it) fast response to phone call. Upon arriving (850 miles on motorcycle), dirty refrigerator, glasses struck to shelf in cabinet, handle on refrigerator broke. Wash machine didn't work and hot tub had dirt and smelt musty. Internet did not work. Vrbo add shows a pool table which isn't level and only 1 pool good cue to share, There was a dart board but no usable darts, Foosball table but no balls. Discussed with owner and believe most of these issues would be corrected (he even offered to have someone come in that week, but we were not interested in being disturb and used it as is). A little disappointed!!! for the price paid that some of the amenities advertise were not in good work order. I was offered a discount on my next trip but have no plans of returning to the area.My first time using Vrbo...

Our only complaint was it was difficult to keep all 3 levels at a comfortable temperature. The basement was too hot, and a couple of the bedrooms would get cold at night, even after setting the thermostats.

Jun 2020My husband and I took our 2 daughters and their families to the Black Hills for vacation. This cabin was great for 11 people. Great location and amenities. Doug our contact was easy to work with. The hot tub was a great plus. I would rent it again if we came back.

May 2021It was a beautiful house snuggled in the Black Hills. Everything was clean and great condition. Three different levels to spread out in and relax or play games. We really enjoyed the hot tube and the owners were super nice. We will definitely try to get back.
