Jan 2020We just came back from a 5 day ski trip and loved this cabin. We have rented cabins for many years in the North Shore area but this time wanted to try Truckee. The cabin has a great view as soon as you open the front door -- great open room with floor to ceiling windows. Tile floors make it much less stressful so there was no worries about getting the carpet dirty. Kitchen has beautiful counters and nice appliances, but would be nice touch if there could be some minimal bake ware to use in the oven. I was making a baked brie and just got creative with an oven-safe frying pan :)
The master is downstairs and is a nice, large room with a fireplace -- nice touch. The bathroom is beautiful with nice tile work and a curb-less shower. One suggestion for the master would be to put up some blinds or drapes for the master bathroom. Especially at night, it felt very exposed in the bathroom with no blinds.
There is some highway noise from I80 but in the winter, with the windows shut, it was not a big deal at all. Very nice that we were able to bring our dogs with us. Overall, super comfortable place to stay with high end remodel done recently. Owner was responsive when I reached out with a question about the TV. We will definitely be staying here again!

Jun 2022We had a very relaxing stay and found this spot to be close to everything we needed as well as places to hike and fish. The view is both captivating and relaxing, and really helped make our trip memorable.

Jun 2021We chose this property because of the gorgeous view of Donner Lake. Unfortunately, it was too hot to keep the shades open for most of our stay so we really couldn't enjoy it. The indoor temperature reached 88 degrees one day and was pretty unbearably hot. The owner suggested keeping screens open at night but we didn't feel particularly safe to do that. Fortunately, we found some fans we could use but it was brutally hot and there is no outdoor space to use in the height of day. I would not recommend bringing anyone sensitive to heat to this house. Also, we experienced a power outage for a few hours and therefore couldn't use fans. The kitchen was quite nice, though the floors could've used a cleaning. There were also no clean sponges available.

Sep 2021We came to the area for a wedding, little did we know the property would be one of the best places we have stayed in our lifetime. Beautiful and very comfortable for the six adults and a toddler under 2. This home is a must stay and we will be back!Kudos to the Property Manager.

Sep 2020We booked this home because it was listed as having TWO King beds (plus one Double). There were two couples traveling, and we both required King beds because one couple has sleeping issues and the other couple are sprawlers. Upon arrival, we discovered that there was ONE King bed, one Queen, one double. Because of this, one couple had to sleep in separate beds, which ruined the 'romantic' nature of a getaway to the mountains. We have photos of the listing, and of the bed situation, so there's proof.
Other issues:
* We emailed the 'property manager' Paul almost a week before arrival, asking to check in an hour or two early. NO response. Once in town, we called while waiting in a grocery store parking lot until check-in to see if we could check in 45 minutes early. NO response.
* There were dirty footprints on the couch when we arrived. When we went to clean them off, we discovered that the entire couch was FILTHY.
* Subsequent inspections of other surfaces (i.e. kitchen countertops) showed them to be dirty as well.
***Between the LIE about the beds in the listing, the dirty conditions and the lack of response from the property manager, we feel that we deserve a partial refund for our stay in conditions that were not as advertised. I have tried to contact the company, via email, phone and social media. My emails are ignored, phone calls unreturned and any post on social media is removed. I waited plenty of time between my complaint and writing this review, to give Evolve time to respond, but time is up. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau.

May 2019Very pretty cabin,too close to I 80, very loud road noise makes it hard to relax. Nice decor, bedding needs to be updated. The towel situation needs to be improved. A coffee table would be nice. The yard needs a clean up.

Aug 2022Very nice property. A few issues.. we were told no washer and dryer, but the house does have a washer and dryer. The fire alarm goes off, when you take a shower downstairs and the door is not cracked open and the fan is on. This alarm went on for several minuets. Very load and annoying. Maybe move the alarm?

Aug 2022Very nice Cabin close to everything in Truckee. The Main living area looks out over the Lake and is a spectacular view. Large beautiful well equipped kitchen. 2 very large TV screens in both the living area and master bedroom. Would stay there again.

Aug 2019This home is even more beautiful than it appears in the web pictures; it has an amazing kitchen and family room with spectacular views of the entire expanse of Donner Lake. They've truly thought of everything, with lots of clever touches that reflect the spirit of the surrounding area.
It's also just SUPER comfortable to "hang out" in. Great amenities. My husband and I have never seen a shower like the ones in this home - best showers we've ever had!
Also, our contact person was extremely responsive and helpful - and happy to answer our questions at any time. We've rented vacation homes for many years, but this was one of our best rental experiences. Wish we could give it more than 5 stars!

Jul 2021The stay was very mediocre for how much it cost. This place should not be rented out to customers on hot days. With almost 100F in Tahoe last few days and NO AIR CONDITIONER, it was very difficult to live in. The host asked us to keep the curtains closed during the day (which was unfortunate because the property has an amazing view). We had a baby with us and these conditions were really tough to stay in, even for adults. In addition to this, there were no soap/shampoo in the bathrooms, which is a basic amenity that is expected. The kitchen was also not very well equipped, but manageable. Evolve should audit properties they support. I am overall dissatisfied with this stay.

But even with these pros I wouldn't recommend this house to my friends or family. When we arrived it was HOT, it’s January. The sun really comes into the house and during the day very hot. But, in the evening it gets cold, and the tile makes it even colder. They do have in room heaters but with the heat during the day we left them off. The windows could use some updating, and with little kids it was a bummer to have a window without a screen and some broken. There are three TVs but only one worked the entire weekend. The person to reach out to tired to help but being pretty savvy myself I knew one of the boxes was just not working and one TV honestly seemed unusable. I don’t want to end on a bad note, we did have a great time and the house has some major positives It just wasn’t for our family.

Dec 2019The property is very clean and nicely updated high-end kitchen and bathrooms. Extremely quiet although there is little freeway noise. That didn't bother us when we were sleeping. One issue is that a kitchen gas stove knob is missing . I hope property manager knows it.

Jun 2022The house was nice inside. Kitchen and bathrooms are newly updated. The view is amazing! The traffic noise was horrible. You could not open the windows because it was so loud. The blinds in the bedroom upstairs are broken. It felt a little uncomfortable in the bathroom downstairs because there was a window with no blinds.

Jun 2021The house was amazing, the kitchen and great room made the home!! The views of the lake were beautiful, perfect get away house. Check in was simple and the house had everything you need. My family enjoyed the close proximity to everything and was perfect to escape the heat of the valley. Will definitely book here again

Jun 2021The house was amazing, the kitchen and great room made the home!! The views of the lake were beautiful, perfect get away house. Check in was simple and the house had everything you need. My family enjoyed the close proximity to everything and was perfect to escape the heat of the valley. Will definitely book here again

Oct 2020The home was just as described. The view of Donner Lake was magnificent. The home was clean, ample linens and towels. Very easy to find, close to shopping and restaurants. The owner was very responsive to a question. We enjoyed spending time in the area. We took a relaxing drive around North Shore. We would definitely come back again. I wanted to thank the owner for opening up his beautiful home for us to enjoy.
