Aug 2020We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Sugarloaf Dairy Cottage! The photos don't do it justice, what a beautifully restored old farm house with modern comforts. We loved relaxing in front of the fire & on the amazing deck watching the cows. It was so peaceful & set in such a beautiful country outlook. We can't wait to go back again & can't thank Ash enough for her hospitality & thoroughly enjoyable stay. We highly recommend this beautiful place!

Jul 2020We had such an incredible time and were so impressed by the property, the nature, the animals, the views...everything was absolutely spectacular! The pictures do not do it justice. We very highly recommend this place; Ash was such an incredible host, she made us feel so comfortable on arrival and had excellent communication with us during our stay. She gave us our privacy and helped us out whenever needed. We can not wait to go back again! =)

Jul 2018We (five adults) had a wonderful stay at Sugarloaf dairy - we felt at home immediately. The house is lovely with everything we could have wished - we wanted peace, quiet and family time in beautiful surrounds. We enjoyed the scenery, the sun-drenched verandah, the generous kitchen table and the comfortable places to sit together or read quietly. Ashley was welcoming and easy to communicate with. We'd definitely come again. Thank you!

Jan 2019We enjoyed our stay at Sugarloaf Dairy and found the house to be extremely comfortable and well-equiped. Ashley was very attentive, but very mindful of our privacy. She suggested an excellent swimming location in a local river which we very much enjoyed in the hot weather. We would return.

Dec 2022We cannot speak highly enough about this lovely home. It is a large, beautifully maintained farm house. It had everything we could ask for. The huge garden is a delight. Our hostess was 100% helpful and accomodating. The house is spacious, comfortable and bright. We could say much more, but I will finish saying we simply cant wait for our next visit.

Jul 2018This was our first stay at Sugarloaf Dairy and it certainly won't be our last. Our first glimpse of the restored cottage and gardens was everything we had hoped for. We stayed at the cottage for 5 nights with our 3 daughters, who loved tending to the chooks, feeding the horses, caring for the quails and playing in the creek. The home was beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable and the views of the surrounding countryside were superb. The wrap around verandah was not only perfect for breakfast in the morning, but even more perfect for champagne in the late afternoon. Ashleys lovely touches throughout the home, such as the fresh flowers from the garden in every room, were very much appreciated.
A beautiful hideaway that we will definitely escape to again. Thank you so much Ashley.

May 2021This is such a lovely place to stay. Ash, the host, is super helpful and made us feel right at home. The style and furnishings are very homely and the veranda is a fantastic place to while away an afternoon. It's also a very short drive from Dungog, so if you've worked up a hunger walking around the paddocks it's easy to pop down the road to grab something to eat at the local cafes or the Tinshed Brewery.Highly recommended and we'd love to go back.

Jul 2021The photos were incredibly accurate. This place is just so beautiful and set in a very quiet country setting. The house, whilst an old cottage with lots of character, was incredibly cosy and had all the mod cons, right down to air conditioning, internet, electric blankets, coffee machine and Netflix. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the quiet country walks. The host was very welcoming and left us fresh eggs and bunches of flowers from the garden. We would love to return again.

Aug 2020Sugarloaf is a delightful old farmhouse in a lovely peaceful setting. The house was spotless, the kitchen very well equipped, and the bathrooms recently updated. There is a variety of living spaces to accommodate a large group/family, either all together or enjoying the serenity alone. The garden is well loved, and is supervised by a benevolent horse and pony. Ashley, the hostess, went out of her way to make us feel very welcome and helped us reconnect with the area. We loved Sugarloaf and will be back!

Dec 2022It's tricky to write a review since the entire weekend and stay was sublime. The reason I gave one star less for accuracy of online description is that it's even more spacious than it looks. It is simply a beautiful property. Ash was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The property is Ash's home too, and therefore the kitchen is a dream in terms of applicances and everything you might want. There were some really lovely details, like we were 5 girls ( maybe more women since we are late 40's +!) and we were left 10 towels. There was face cleanser and moisturiser in the bathroom. We brought our own, but I have forgotten on occassion. The area of Dungog is a joy to explore. We will certainly go back. Please don't read this review as a green light to have a wrecking party, Ash is lovely and relaxed but still, it's a home that still needs to be respected.

Dec 2019Gorgeous house with beautiful interiors and an amazing wrap around verandah with loads of great spots to sit or eat while taking in the incredible views of beautiful rolling hills. Extremely peaceful and the owner was so accommodating and helpful. Dungog is a cute small country town with all the amenities you need and there are a few other very sweet historic towns to visit within a short drive of the house. We would definitely go again.

Jul 2020Fabulous property with everything you need and so much attention to detail to make it a really special place to stay. Ash was a perfect host making sure we were settled and answering all the kids questions! The kids had a ball exploring the property and meeting all the animals. Relaxing on the wrap around deck in the afternoon sun with a drink and listening to the cows was a real highlight and just what we needed to get away from our hectic lives. Thank you Ash for being such a great host and sharing your beautiful house with us.

Nov 2022Enjoyed our stay. A late withdrawal from one of our friends meant that the potential of the farm residence was not exploited (best set up for a group of ~4). Still it was a refreshing break, while still 5 minutes from Dungog.

Nov 2022Beautifully styled and appointed home, great for a relaxing weekend away . Lovely wide verandah as as well as a little pavilion in the garden. You won't want to leave however you are only 5 minutes from pubs and cafes in Dungog that also has an array of interesting shops.

Apr 2022Ash’s property is the perfect place to unwind and relax away from the city. She was so helpful and hospitable, taking our young kids out to look at the farm animals and feed the horses. She provided amazing honey that she made herself as well as some eggs from her hens. We had a great time there and would recommend it to all - I’m sure we’ll be back! Thanks Ash!
