We loved our stay! The owners, access to the beach, wonderful house and quiet location made our vacation wonderful. We were also able to bring our dogs with permission. We will definitely return again.

We had a wonderful week and enjoyed our stay as we did last year!!

We had a great week and the weather was perfect but I wanted to share our experience. Dishwasher and the trash were both half full when we arrived. The dog urine on the carpet downstairs made the entire lower level smell and it wasn’t until we searched around smelling that we were able to determine the cause. The owner was responsive trying to remediate the issue but also asked us to clean or remove it and put down new ones that she ordered to be delivered during our stay. There were dead flowers falling everywhere upstairs by the bed and on the dining room table which we had to clean. There is white dog hair everywhere including the sofas which we understand because it is dog friendly but there was a lot and it got on anything we wore that was dark in color. No dishwasher detergent-not sure if this was included but not something I typically would think I would have to pack. No air conditioning in the master bedroom made it very difficult and uncomfortable to sleep in for us and our 1 yr old son. The entire time we were pretty uncomfortable in there even with 3 fans running and the windows open at night. The bathroom sink is clogged or something and drains very, very slowly. I have emailed and messaged (Homeaway and the owner) regarding these issues and have not heard back in 72 hours….Hence the honest review on our stay. Spending the money we did we would not have expected to have issues like this during our vacation.

We are returning guests to this property, and we found it even cozier than before! The house has everything you need for your blissful and stress free stay, but it also has the right mood and feel. It's like a hug from a best friend or best relative, you feel at ease at once and you don't want to part. I hope we'll come back again soon!

Very large, spacious, and private house, with a great kitchen. The upstairs is one very large space. The location between a salt marsh and the ocean is unique and beautiful. Jen was a pleasure to work with. I almost hate to say this for fear of wrecking it....but Sandwich is a dream town with very little tourism. Quiet and idyllic with a beautiful and historic town center. Yet, there is an excellent, large, modern supermarket. The beach is a bit rocky, but very little to complain about in this dream location.

This was my second year staying at this newly renovated beach house in Sandwich. The house is exquisite with views of ocean or salt marsh from every window! There were some upgrades in furnishings since my stay last year. Brand new couch, coffee table and a larger dining table to accommodate larger groups. The beautiful kitchen, complete with a Kitchen Aid mixer and Keurig coffee maker was a pleasure to cook and bake for my family. Also a beautiful new grill outside was perfect for bbqs. The house is gorgeous inside. I love the openness of the upstairs with cathedral ceilings and hard wood floors. The slipper tub in the upstairs bathroom is divine. And the constant breeze from the oversized windows is nature’s air conditioning. Though there is AC when needed. We also love that it is pet friendly and we can bring our dogs. The beach is quiet and really a peaceful retreat from the craziness of life in a very sweet New England town. I highly recommend this location especially for the money. Laura is a pleasure to deal with!

This is a great property right on a private beach. Everything you need is conviently located at the house. A great place to relax and enjoy the ocean.

This beautiful house was perfect! You are off the beaten path here, it is a quick drive to nearby Sandwich, and sandwich has so much to offer and so many great restaurants! The porch, the views, the beach being just a staircase away is everything. The home has so much that you just need to bring yourself, towels and linens and everything else is at the house! Well stocked pantry and kitchen! The beds are great, the furniture available is perfect. The amazing breeze from the ocean is all you need to cool off the house. The salt marsh is the front of the house and the back is the bay/ocean! We loved walking on the beach. We even saw a few seals swimming! The area is very friendly and quiet!

The house had all of the amenities we have looked for over the years. The private peaceful beach with easy access and view, cleanliness, comfortable beds, ac, washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen and ability to bring our much loved dog! Laura answered any questions we had quickly and couldn’t have been more accommodating. We have some beautiful memories of our past week on the cape.

Thank you - your house and our vacation week were wonderful! We spent a lot of time at the house and on the beach because it was so comfortable and met our needs perfectly. It is nice to stay in a home that is well cared for, lived in and loved; we like all the art and knick knacks around! Plus the history of it all... we enjoyed visiting the Wing Fort house and learning about all (I presume) your ancestors. We’ve been coming to the Cape for 5 years but this is the first year where we’ve rented a home that has both the salt marsh and ocean. This combination is truly special! And because we were visiting during a new moon, the star gazing was out of this world! A special thanks for letting us bring our dog who was in heaven being on the beach when it's usually off limits to her during the summer. Thanks again and we can't wait to visit again.

Sitting here in the after glow of our perfect beach vacation we are a bit sad that it is over. We always thought living in the mountains was wonderful, but there is nothing that compares to the restfulness and peace of the ocean/beach. And the Wing House made it all the more special. We set up our annual jigsaw puzzle on the table in front of the "wall of windows" where we could keep an eye on the ocean's happenings while fitting in a few pieces off and on through out the day. Each day started with coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean and the nearly vacant beach! Then down to the sands with our kite, chairs and books. It was like our own slice of heaven. The wind blew a constant breeze keeping the house cool, and the bugs away - making beach combing comfortable as well. We tore ourselves away from the beach one evening for a seafood dinner at Sams, and a second day just for some sight seeing, adventuring and lunch in Barnstable. The kitchen made meal prep a breeze. It's the first vacation rental I've had where the knives could actually cut something. The fridge was huge and even had an ice maker (critical for a summer vacation). Every room had a view of the marsh or the ocean....I'm pretty sure my blood pressure dropped 10 points while there! We all agreed that it was perfect. Laura, you and Jen were wonderfully responsive to all of our questions and we couldn't have been happier. Of course, nature did help out as well, as we had only one night of rain -- all the rest was perfect sun and wispy clouds. Since we were prepared with our water shoes, even the rocks couldn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. If you are looking for a relaxing, rejuvenating beach experience this is it. Wish we were back there now! Thank you Laura and Jen for sharing your great escape!

PS, I almost forgot that the whole reason we picked this house is that my husband used to vacation on this beach during the 60's. His memories were very positive and I can say he relived so many of them during our vacation. From bird and boat watching to beach combing and kite flying, to just wiggling our toes in the sand...we enjoyed it all.

Overall a beautiful house in a great location. Incredible views of ocean and saltmarsh, I could sit on that deck and stare at the ocean for hours and never tire of the views. Jen was easy to deal with, we were actually allowed to stay there for tropical storm Irene which was quite the experience, but the house was well prepared with the hurricane shutters and plexiglass window coverings. I was able to bring my dog which not many cottages allow, a major factor in deciding where to stay for me. The only downfalls of this place, which is why i gave 4 stars and not 5, is that the oven didn"t work (very old) and the grill wouldn"t light, and we like to cook together on vacation. Also the livingroom furniture was not very comfortable and the dining table is too small only seating 4. Despite this, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the location and view.

My sister and I spent a glorious five days at Cape Cod this May. It was even more special than we expected; not just four nights at the beach, but also the experience of this wonderful beach house. We got a taste of Laura and Jen’s hospitality from several correspondences before we went and there was a lovely note from Laura at the house when we arrived. From the moment we walked in the door we felt “at home”. Even my sister’s dog was so relaxed! The house is beautiful. The ocean can be seen from three sides. Sunsets and rises were breathtaking. I slept in the bedroom downstairs and my sister in the queen upstairs (she woke to a view of the ocean each morning). Both of us have back issues, but not at this beach house. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were not only remodeled but also had special touches, the kitchen well equipped with wonderful appliances and everything you could possibly need to prepare a meal. There is even a new washer and dryer so we were able to pack light. When I looked for a place on the water that would let us bring a dog I feared that the house wouldn’t be clean. That wasn’t the case here; everything was spotless and there were no signs (smells, destruction, dog hairs) that dogs stay there. There was even a dog bed which our “Molly” enjoyed using as much as her own. The deck was so peaceful and we christened a new gas grill. The most interesting part of our stay was finding little treasures and surprises throughout the home. Artwork, little knick knacks, special treasures from the ocean, a fantastic tub upstairs and great shower down, books and games. You can feel the rich history and what seems like mementos of people who have stayed. If you are looking for a place where you can bring your family and dog, this is it! Not only do Laura and Jen go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, but it’s a unique beach house which will linger in your mind long after you have stayed there. My family of four (and small dog) just came back from a weeks rental. The house, beach, and everything about our stay was outstanding! The pictures do not due this place justice. Everything in the house was super modern, updated, and clean and the beach, although a bit rocky, was perfect for our needs. We already asked abour booking the same week next year!

Just came back from our annual vacation. We have rented other places on the cape but once we found this place we have never changed. We love the laid back, casual atmosphere of this rental. My husband has never been a fan of lounging on the shore like I am. He stays up by the house on the deck while I relax on the private beach. Our children are free to wander between the two of us. It is very easy to relax without having to deal with driving to the beach or crowded shores. Everything you might need is within reach. The house and kitchen are stocked better than a full time house. The appliances are immaculate and top of the line. The bathrooms are to die for. I always come home dreaming up new schemes for my baths. We have come ever since our children were infants. You can easily put the kids down for a nap, turn on a baby monitor, and head back to the beach. The house is easily equipped for kids of all ages. The number one reason we come back is for our dog. It is very difficult to find pet friendly places. Even if you do they are typically dirty and have a smell. This is never the case here. You would be hard pressed to even know if a dog has been there. Our dog absolutely loves body surfing in the waves. Where can you find a pet friendly beach? It is an absolute gem of a total (dog included) family vacation.
