Jan 2022We've visited Callala Beach a few times, but this was our first time closer to the Bay, with easy access for a bike trip to shops and amazing gelato. The house was great, with well stocked games (kids loved the wii throwback when it rained). Nice, private backyard that would be good for pets. Much closer to the beach than I had thought, due to a cut through. Recently redone bathrooms, and otherwise comfortable. We enjoyed our time at this house.

Jan 2021We stayed for 5 nights and had an amazing time. The short walk to Callala beach was perfect. The house was as described and had all the amenities we needed. The back deck light wasn’t working which made hanging out outside a little difficult, but we managed. There is a fire pit in the back yard which was perfect for roasting marshmallows. Would definitely stay again!

Jan 2022We really had a great time at Callala Beach. Especially in our accommodation it was a relaxing get away and we get to spend New Years at this lovely place. We will definitely be back. Our dogs enjoyed it too :)

Mar 2021We had a pleasant few days at Callala Beach. Found the checkin and checkout times very unpleasant. It certainly didn’t take 6 hours to clean this house as there was sand in the bed on arrival and sand around the living room furniture.We have stayed at other locations in Jervis Bay during covid and the checkin/checkout times were more favourable. You lose two days of the holiday waiting for 4pm and then have to rush off for 10am on departure. Disappointing

Aug 2020We had a lovely stay at Hayes Beach House. Loved the house itself. Nice relaxed beach vibe to the cottage, had everything we needed and more - the extra little touches like the kids toys and high chair were awesome for our 2 and 4 year olds. The fireplace got a real workout (plenty of firewood supplied) and the large secure yard was perfect for our dog.
The super quiet village of Callala Beach was perfect for the relaxed family holiday we needed (if you want to be in the centre of the action then don't stay here). There was more than enough to do for young families with the beach a short walk away, good cycling/walking paths and a newly opened coffee / churros caravan selling decent coffee and treats just 100m down the road.
A great place to stay with your dog with a dog-friendly beach on your doorstep. Shops are accessible in nearby Callala Bay and even Nowra is easily driveable for a bigger shop. Whale watching out of Huskisson was also fantatsic.
Slight downsides for us were that the local beach was not as fantastic as we hoped - it was littered with debris and the water did not have the lovely turquoise colour that the pictures suggest - I am not sure if this is normal for Callala Beach or it may have been due to the VERY heavy rain that flooded the area just a week before. Some of the other beaches of Jervis Bay were spectacular and very quiet and just a 30 min drive away.
Water damage to the ceiling in the dining area was noticeable (with a water-collecting bucket placed on the floor) - again presumably from the previous week's heavy rain. Not a problem for us because the weather was fine but obviously repairs need to be undertaken.
Overall we loved the place and had a great stay. We would highly recommend the house and the location for a quiet mid-winter beach holiday, and imagine it would also be awesome in summer. We would happily stay here again.

Jul 2020We had a lovely relaxing stay at this great beach house. It is very comfortable and is one of the best equipped places we have stayed and includes essentials like salt,pepper,oil etc.
The back deck is lovely and overlooks a big pet friendly back yard.
The fireplace is well situated and was very welcome in the wintry weather. There is also reverse cycle air conditioning.
Short walk to Callala Beach.
Will definitely stay again.

Sep 2020We arrived at the house with a reasonable level of expectations for a holiday beach house but was actually quite surprised that the house came with all the mod cons of home for entertainment and comfort but also a very well supplied kitchen - plates/cutlery/pots and pans.
Overall, location was fantastic. Plenty of space and was very tidy. Definitely, we will come back and in the very near future.

Dec 2020The property was well placed - close to beach and a coffee and churro place on the corner. the amenities were good with the 3 hammocks being well used by all. the private back yard and lovely neighbours were delightful. Great soundsystem and comfortable lounging. Carpark was very very tight squeeze but thats ok. Overall a lovely place and thank you for accommodating us!

Feb 2020The Hayes Beach house is comfortable for large families to spread out and relax. Beds are comfy with good quality linen and towels provided. House is well maintained and very clean.
The backyard is fully secure with colourbond fences. Just do a quick check of the perimeter to see if any gaps underneath the fence need blocking for small dogs but plenty of rocks in yard to address this.
The owners provide a thoughtful array of kitchen items and laundry facilities.
A very easy and short walk to the beach and appreciated the outdoor shower in the backyard to rinse off the sand.
We enjoyed our stay with teens and doggies and highly recommend. Thanks!

Jan 2021Surprisingly spacious property in perfect location. Very quiet neighbourhood. Loved the big backyard and deck and outdoor warm shower is great after the beach. Kids and dog had a great time.
