Es wurde 1984 stillgelegt und in den letzten 16 Jahren aufgegeben.

In Anclote Key leben seltene und gefährdete Vögel und Schildkröten.
Besucher reisen jedes Jahr mit dem Boot auf die Insel, um die mehr als 43 dort lebenden Vogelarten zu beobachten, darunter der amerikanische Austernfischer, der Weißkopfseeadler und der Fischadler (manchmal auch Fischadler genannt). Die Fischadler haben zahlreiche Nistplätze in den hohen Kiefern, die die Insel bedecken. Auf der Insel können auch Schildkröten gesichtet werden, darunter vom Aussterben bedrohte Unechte und grüne Schildkröten.

Jun 2022Wonderful location to everything. Our kids stayed in the pool 24/7. I did have a hard time getting in touch for the code but was quickly resolved. The only complaint was random men walking up in the back yard with the pool company to clean and no notification of this happening. I was only scared because of my kids, the world is crazy now days.

Dec 2018We were visiting Florida to spend time with our family, including two young grandsons, and this home was everything we needed for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We caught fish off the dock, the boys swam in the pool, and we had an amazing time. Thank you for everything!

Jul 2018We ran into a few glitches. I had specifically asked if we could launch our boat from the community boat ramp. The key to the ramp was not in the house as stated. We finally received a key 4 days into vacation. We had to launch in Tarpon Springs. The next problem was the hit tub was not working. Luckily my mechanically inclined son was able to take off a panel and reset the tub. Don't plan on going to the community beach, apparently short term rentersv (10 nights) are not allowed. A very rude gatekeeper lady ran us out because we had no card to enter. Lastly the kitchen sink main drain came apart and we had some kitchen leaking. Ralph had someone out that day to fix it.
I would recommend to the owner that all these items be checked before each guest arrives. As far as the beach...tge reviews from long term tenants compliment the beach...dont assume short term tenants should know we are not allowed. It was very embarrassing. I will not rent here again. We will stay in the other home we have used in the past. We had zero issues there.

May 2021We loved having the pool and hot tub all to ourselves versus staying at a hotel. The location was great, close to many things but still felt quiet and private. We even had a dolphin stop by for a visit twice! They provided everything you need for your stay however some of the towels were a bit on the worn side, so I would suggest an upgrade on those. Overall it was a great stay and I was sad when we had to leave an head back to reality.

Aug 2017We enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and well equipped. The pool was small, but nice. The private beach was great. We went snorkeling and watched the sunset. You have to go the Hella's bakery in Tarpon Springs. Also, the steakhouse in the mall is very good. The only disappointment was fishing off the dock. That was the biggest reason we chose this house. The neighbors were nice, but informed us that the fishing is usually poor because they are toward the end of the waterway. My husband ended up going on 2 chapters that week instead and had a great time. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Mar 2020We enjoyed our stay in this quiet neighborhood. The neighbors were very nice helping us acclimate to the area. We chose this house for what we could afford, the waterfront and pool. The room layout worked well for us. The owner needs to better monitor his housekeeper and maintenance person. I sent Ralph a list of things that needed seeing too and he took care of them reimbursing us for any costs incurred. The hot tub is ancient and did not work. We rented another house for next winter.

May 2017Visited for 30 days & enjoyed every minute. Home & property were all that were promised & neighbors were very warm & friendly. As others have stated, home has a great floor plan & is perfect for accommodating extra family or visiting friends. On arrival, home was very clean & fresh. The canal is very quiet as is the neighbourhood & the grounds & pool were maintained regularly. All conveniences are easily accessed . Overall a very enjoyable & relaxing experience.

Dec 2021This was a great location for us since it was near our family. We came down for the Thanksgiving holiday and it was convenient to meet with everyone.. possibly a few updates which I relayed to the property manager. He was easy to get a hold of and very receptive.

Sep 2018This is an awesome vacation house with a great location. If you are planning on bringing a boat this is the spot for you. The canal is nice and deep. You can be in the Gulf in a matter of minutes.

Sep 2021The property was clean, neat, and bright and pleasant when we got there. We made good use of the pool, jacuzzi and boat dock. We had our 18 foot bay boat with us and we were able to leave it in the water at our dock the whole time. Word of advice, apparently the neighborhood association doesn't allow parking of boats, trailers, or RVs/Motor Homes in the driveway so you'll have to find a place to store/park it for your stay. We rented a spot from Windsong for $50/month(minimum). However, this storage spot was way back off a pothole filled dirt road that looked sketchy to us. We only left our boat there for one night, and then just kept the trailer in the driveway and took our chances. Don't think any citations were handed out for it because a lot of other houses had trailers, etc. parked out front. Ralph was very accommodating and friendly.

Jun 2017The house was perfect. Having a house on the water, with a pool was great for a town that wasn't very touristy. Having access to the private beach made the vacation as well, it was beautiful and peaceful. Tarpon springs and even Clearwater aren't to far away. You may have to search for them but close to some good restraunts. Windsong was great for renting a pontoon for a few days which you can dock at the house. The house is well maintained and we'll equipped for all your cooking needs! The pool was pretty dirty upon arrival but was cleaned in the 1st part of the week and the grass mowed later in the week. The fenced yard was a big plus for the dog!! Having a washer and dryer really helped as well. We can't thank Ralph enough for allowing us to use his home to make a very memorable vacation for us and our fur baby.

Nov 2019The house was nice and very clean...but the hot tub never worked..only had a few inches of water in it. The pool was very cold. We threw a thermometer into it and it was only 74. The pool rules said that a pool cleaner would be by once a week...we were there for 2 weeks and never seen anyone. The pool needed a good cleaning too

Mar 2022The house is in a very nice location and has a very nice back yard on the canal with a small swimming pool and large hot tub. The house itself is in need of updates and has black mold in the bathroom. The house was clean when we arrived but the black mold growing in the bathroom was upsetting. The front of the microwave is broken and sits only about a foot over the glass cook-top making it difficult to use the stove-top and wondering if dangerous microwaves are escaping. The owner was very good about making necessary repairs to the furnace and the plumbing when they quit working.

May 2017The house had everything you need except a hair dryer. The house is a little dated, but it's very clean. We had family visit and there was room for everyone. Great location. We loved the private beach.

Jun 2018Ralph was so helpful and committed to our vacation at his home. We were ableto bring our boat and dock it right outside. The pool was so refreshing after a hot day in the sun. Fun fishing and shelling and just enjoying tha area. Lunch at Tarpon Springs and dinner in Hudson. Great family vacation and always great to be able to bring our fur babies with us.

Aug 2022Ralph, is great! Easy to communicate with. Location of property is fantastic. Nice view in the backyard with a pool & hot tub to relax in. Plenty of room to relax in the house. Plenty of linens for the bathrooms & beds. Dishes not to clean & cleanliness of the house not so much. Refrigerator, wasn’t to clean either. Overall..I would stay again at this property.

Home was well-equipped with kitchen items, towels, extra blankets, beach chairs, etc. A major eyesore - the couches. They have large rips in the arms, the fabric is coming off on multiple cushions. Does not reflect what is in the photos and this was disappointing and not inviting. I would strongly recommend new ones. Outside, having the pool was nice. The filter/pump was not working for a few days and that did get fixed so we were still able to enjoy the pool. I would say there is some maintenance needed in the back deck area as the pool skimmer was completed ripped, pool floats were covered in dirt, hose had large hole in it, hot tub was dirty, and random items (e.g, cleaning bottle, tackle box, hooks, etc.) sitting out. That being said, the house was good enough for what we needed and I would consider staying again (with updated couches). Ralph was responsive via phone when we reached out on a couple of things.

Oct 2022Overall, good experience. Older home but clean and comfortable. Good neighborhood. Only downside were TV’s received no signal, internet was down and pool was smaller than expected. Host responded quickly to questions at checking.

Mar 2022Nice house and we enjoyed our stay; but we were surprised by no access to ESPN. We consider ESPN basic cable. Missed the conference basketball championship and first round of NCAA tournament.

May 2022My husband and I were very impressed with this home. The location was perfect for us and so peaceful. We were able to drive our jet skis out to a lot of beautiful areas, relax in the pool and hot tub, and the neighbors were wonderful. Will definitely be visiting again!
