May 2023Exactly what we needed. Warm and homey cottage with everything you could want or need. Private beach plus only a mile away from Calumet Water Works Beach- rock hunter’s paradise! We found agates, prehnite, quartz, jasper, rhyolite, amygdaloidal basalt, banded chert, yooperlites, and many others. Even though we had a lot of rain, we still went hiking in Gardners Nature area, Black River Sanctuary, and Horseshoe Harbor (which is beautiful). Sadly Brockway Mnt Rd was still closed for the season, but we did find a mineral store in Copper Harbor and bought a gorgeous piece of float copper. Always something to do in this area rain or shine. And so awesome to come home to Stella’s after a day of adventure! We will be coming back!

Apr 2023First off I have to say Keith really has an eye for detail , he has thought of everything! The house is equipped with everything you need from a great reading library to all the sporting goods you could want. The view is just incredible ,the house is very comfortable and inviting . There were even local goodies in a welcome basket and a bottle of wine , we went out and bought a bunch to take home (fudge pasties)! Keith lives next door but you would never know anybody is around it feels really private. All in all this is one of our favorite places we have stayed top notch all the way. Thank you Keith for everything we really enjoyed it !

Apr 2023This home was everything it was advertised to be AND MORE. Stella's Hideaway is a beautiful home right on the shore of Lake Superior. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy and had all the amenities you would have at home. There was also a great selection of books, games and outdoor activities available. It was a joy to wake up in the morning, after a very comfortable nights sleep, to those wonderful lake views. We can't wait to come back.

Apr 2023We had the most relaxing and comfortable stay in this home. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, clean and there is everything you could possibly need. We loved walking in the park just up the road (Gardeners nature trails) and cross country skiing Sweedtown). The town of Calumet is only 10 minutes away and has nice bars and restaurants with super friendly service. We will be back as soon as we can!

Mar 2023We, a family of 8, stayed for 3 nights. Plenty rooms, games, books for all age groups, from infant to senior. We enjoyed the winds and waves of the lake superior. Stary night without light polution is a memorable moment. Definitely I will revisit with my family!!

Mar 2023Keith was most helpful and accommodating, and even gave us the heads up on witnessing the most incredible northern lights show we’ve ever experienced! The sauna was peaceful and therapeutic, the views are amazing, and the Klask was epic! And the pups loved sniffing the freshest air on the planet.

Nov 2022My husband wanted to get away from everything for a week for his birthday. When I found Stella’s online, I felt like it was perfect, and I was right. We loved Stella’s! We are already discussing another (longer) stay. The kitchen was well-stocked and well-equipped. The views were spectacular. Even though it rained for most of our trip, it was so peaceful and comfortable that we didn’t care. We just listened to the waves and used the sauna more. (=

Nov 2022We have been to Stella's Hideaway several times and always enjoy. The house is perfect for our large family of 7 and has plenty of extras too! We enjoyed playing outside in the beautiful weather- laying in the hammock, riding the scooters, and enjoyed a campfire too. We will definitely be back again soon!

Oct 2022Our stay was outstanding in this fully supplied place. I don't think they left out anything someone might needl Lovely viewing of the stars and lake. Wow! to see God's amazing wonders was awesome. We didn't have time to do everything. Kitchen is small but very well supplied. But your on vacation and who wants to do a lot of kitchen work? to lay in bed and see the stars and lake and faint northern lights is such a treat!!
Not far from a lovely beach and town for supplies. Looking forward to going back.

Aug 2022This property has everything to make your stay enjoyable. On calmer days we enjoyed the kayaks on the lake. Bike rides on the very lightly traveled roads. Meals outside on the picnic table. The many books and games. Raspberry and Thimbleberry picking nearby. The home furnishing and many of the books pay tribute to the UP heritage. Kitchen is well stocked. Convenient that the host allowed parking in the garage. Views of the lake from the living areas and master bedroom are fantastic. We enjoyed watching the weather develop and passing ships in the distance. Usable beach area below the stairs is small but more than sufficient for launching the kayaks. Less than 1 mile from Calumet Water Works Park and its large beach. 10 minutes to Calumet where we enjoyed the 1898 built theater and Jen's Country Kitchen pasties. We already made return plans for next year.

You are close enough to town, but far enough away that you really get a chance to reset from your life. The sound of the waves, the sauna, the fire pit, the private beach area, the little decks with seating — so many reasons you won't want to leave.

Jul 2022Ages 4 to 65 had a great time at this very welcoming property. Games for everyone. Room to spread out. Kitchen is very well equipped. Comfy beds. Adults went out in the kayak . Great location to head to Houghton or Copper Harbor. Owner has made a point to highlight the upper peninsula magic and uniqueness. The little ones didn’t want to leave and the adults are already planning a trip back. (The seniors have 2 more weeks to enjoy this Beautiful property)

Jun 2022My wife and I took my daughter and grandkids on a Lake Superior vacation and this house was the perfect place for our stay. The location was great. It was close to the Waterworks park, hiking trails, a great off the shore fishing location, had gorgeous sunsets, campfires and family time. We were able to travel into Calumet when needed to eat and shop and explored the Keeweenaw Peninsula. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and the cool breeze through the windows. We can’t wait to come back!

Jun 2022Clean house, with great instructions for anything needed around the house. My only concern was possibly no Ac, we stayed in June. But that definitely was NOT an issue. The weather right off the lake kept the house nice and cool.
