The Marion Hostel

The location of the Marion was superb for our stay. Our room was large, airy in a good way, and really comfortable. The room, and the whole place, had character. The kitchen and fridge arrangements were great.

My only complaint would be that due to the high ceilings and wooden floors it was noisy at times. Not due to any loud group behaviour or anything like that, just the sudden closing of a door or loud thump next door!

The host Micky, was amazing .Helped with everything we needed Fans for the room, where to park, eat ect. He is an asset the the business.

The hostel is very nice and clean, has everything you need.

I'm a backpacker and love to socialize a bit. The kitchen had a lot of individual, seperate tables which made it hard to socialize. There are not many backpackers staying here and ended up going to other hostels in the evening to be able to meet other people. If you want a nice and quiet stay, definitely go here. If you want to socialize and meet other people you can better book a different hostel.

The beds in multi-bed dorms had their own curtains to give you privacy, with convenient power sockets and USB ports. The staff were friendly and efficient.

The art work was quirky and gave the place elegance. The staff were so welcoming. And the free bikes to go around town was a bonus. Thank you.

Staff were really friendly, I arrived after reception closed. Instructions were clear and easy. Towel was on my bed which meant I could shower without having to wait for reception to open again. Showers were really nice, everything was clean. Beds had curtains so you had some privacy

I was in my room and was going to get changed when I noticed there is an apartment across from the room that could see in and there's no curtains in the room other than around the beds.

Staff very welcoming Great location, near to Cuba St & walking distance to big New World supermarket, Basin Reserve, Te Papa museum & airport bus drop off (Courtenay Place). Other sites also within walking distance, but further away include Parliament building & train station. Kitchen facilities excellent & kept clean by both staff & other guests ensuring they cleaned up after themselves. Room had lockable drawer for luggage. Bunk beds have individual lights & power for each person, also shelf behind pillow. Plenty of seating areas both near to kitchen & throughout the building

Room was a bit small, but no other concerns.

Staff are really nice and friendly , everything is clean, location is really good

Showers were amaing. Kitchen was soo nice and well kept and the lounge areas are mad.

Matresses were a bit squeaky in room 3

Quite noisy during the night. Monday 6:30 am next room was listening to music.
