Yuelu Homestay

We had the best stay at this guesthouse. It was clean, comfortable and very convenient. If you want to visit Zhangjiajie for the Avatar Mountains then this is a great place to stay. Only 300 metres from the West gate. The guesthouse owner is called Mary. She is great and can plan a good route for you so you will miss the crowds. The guesthouse will also prepare breakfast and dinner for you at an additional cost. We felt it was totally worth it because after a long day of hiking our dinner was ready and on the table for us not long after we got back. The food also tasted very fresh and wasn’t too oily. It was also plentiful. Travelling in China can be hard for foreigners especially if their Chinese isn’t great but staying here made everything easy. Everything was organised, from getting off the train and making our way to the guesthouse house to our actual hiking route. We would 100% stay here again. If you are planning on going to the glass bridge and don’t have a lot of time then it might be a little far but for Zhangjiajie park it is a brilliant place to stay. Also, an important side note. The shower had great water pressure, and her dog is very cute and friendly.

I can’t think of anything negative because there was no hidden surprises and Mary was very clear about what we could and could not see in the time that we were there.

This homestay is very conveniently located 5 minutes away from the west park entrance to the main park. The village is small and rural where it is located. The host speaks great English and will help you with your every needs (arranging transport to and from the airport, Tinamen mountain) They made lovely homemade food for breakfast and dinner. They looked after me very well, the rooms were very comfortable.

The owner is an amazing person! She takes good care of her guests... She even gave me plans for each day of where to go around the park. The breakfast and dinner were Chinese and very delicious. I recommend staying at this place. The blast is guaranteed!

The host was extremely helpful. The food was fresh and homegrown. The location was very close to the national park.

Miss Zhu Hui is by far the best host i ever had in my life. Amazing hospitality and very proffessional approach. Hotel is great and on perfect location. Anything you need she will arrange for you. Mark: 10!!! She gave me perfect plan to visit Zhangjiajie National park, Tianmen mountain and Yellow Dragon Cave. All done in 3 days. Delicious warm meals before and after long hikes and tasty local fruits were always ready for me. Do not look for any other place - Book it now!

Meriy (the host) is super nice and her hospitality is biond amazing. She helped us with everything we asked regarding the park: buying tickets planning the days and transportation. Also, she helped us to plan the rest of our trip. We traveled during the Chinese new year and covid 19 - her help was life saving The food her husband cooked for us was delicious and every day she welcomed us with hot and tasty tea. The location is very good 5 minutes walk from the park entrance. The the cutest dog in Hunan province - pudding (the princess) The rooms were cosy worm end comfortable. Highly recommended! We will definitelycome back.. ❤️
