We traveled to Philly for a weekend getaway to see Billy Strings at the Met. Everything was great, location, staff, customer experience, cleanliness, comfort, definitely recommend.
Sonder Philadelphia Nov 2021
We liked the location near the museums and the amenities that were included.
2 out of 3 of the kitchen outlets didn't work. The shower water pressure was wimpy. No soap holder in the shower.
nice, comfy, good locationJul 2022
we have stayed twice at this property and enjoy the well appointed apartments
Stylish. Comfortable. Trendy.Nov 2022
We did not have breakfast.
Two smaller issues. - The air conditioning was loud and turned on automatically early morning. - For some reason orr dish washer was not working.
Want to recommend this place in Philadelphia! Amazing apartments!!! The best place in our trip in America (21 days and 5 nights in Philadelphia)! New, fresh, stylish, modern, super beds, kitchen facilities, everything so comfortable and clean!!! You have good powder coffee and good tea, sugar! Very-very good quality of kitchen appliances! Want to say about how everything are clean - amazing!!! Feeling like working not people, but elves and fairies!deep!respect!!! I loved this place!!! We were then in California and now in NY and want to have the same everywhere but compare all time with MD and miss much!!! Special thanks to the reception Markisa🥰 her hospitality saved my attitude, nervous and mood at the first terrible check in!
When I was arrived 07.13 they couldn't found my reservation 2 hours after 8 hours in plane from FFT I was needed to wait in reception hall all this time. Its not my fault that hey have not connection between owners - Sonder apartments, booking.com... Europe and America not really in good contact communication activities looks like. Pity, I was crashed, tired...than received room lower category then paied !!! When I told them to change, it was next trial for me. Without my daughter and her super good English and my husband in Germany (we must regulated everything throught Germany!!!!) I could not received what has booked 3 months before!!Was complicated. Terrible communication: three sides, you should call, they do not hurry, every time from Sonder answers new person...extremely awful experience ((( huge stress...
Very nice and good quality. Perfect apartment for a get away. Nice kitchen
I have received around 40 mails in total from Sonder, regarding my stay. It was crazy
Very comfortable and lovely property. Convenient location.
Sorry the rooftop access was closed for maintenance but it was not an issue.
Unbelievable. Great Appartement in the near of city hall. Very clean. Walkway to target, WholeFood, CVS. Take parking at One Franklin garage. 7th Floor is a terasse. Absolutly astonishing. I' d loved our days there
Wonderful location and apartment. Apr 2021
The rooms! The lighting and the kitchen
Dreher didn’t get very warm! Otherwise perfect
The room (no. 304) was a problem for us, primarily because there were only flimsy see-through blinds, with nothing to block out the light from the carpark and buildings outside or the sunshine in the morning so it was impossible to get a good night's sleep (and we booked for 9 nights). Communication was poor. I don't know what other rooms were like. The room itself was spacious, with a nice bathroom and good supplies (washing pods, etc.) Nice washing machine and dryer.
No way to block light from outside so difficult to sleep. We booked for 9 nights because we thought we would be comfortable and self sufficient in this studio. When we contacted after the first night about the light situation, it took considerable time for anyone to get back to us. We had chat, text, and email discussions with nothing really resolved. We ended up leaving a day early so we could get some sleep. There was a television screen but no free to air TV (only chromecast or HDMI connection to laptop so not great if you are from another country and don't have that sort of access). I think if the TV is nothing more than a screen, it should be noted in the listing. A bit of a mishmash for cooking (e.g. no trays for baking but a full set of pots) There are people at the front desk who have no information about anything. It appears they are there to open the door only and give you keys.
loved it!May 2022
The rooftop lounge was an added bonus. Great for viewing the city. Location was perfect for walking to most attractions. Building and neighborhood were quiet at night.
we didn't have access to the gym.
Philly Sonder StayJun 2021
The property was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. Access to the building and condo for check-in was easy. The location was convenient and the building was quiet.
The stairwell had smelly trash overflowing from the bins. The stay would be made more comfortable with TVs in each bedroom; I’d also recommend more comfortable seating in addition to the sofa in the living room for all guests.
Nice apartmentJul 2022
The property was nice and clean. There was public parking right opposite the property.
The location was not very convenient
great place, would definitely return if I will come back to PhilySep 2022
The place was great, very clean and had everything needed for a great stay.
There is no parking which is kind of annoying, and the price was a bit too high
Great loft apartment and well stocked for a comfortable stay.Jun 2022
The loft style apartment was very spacious and very well stocked for a comfortable stay. The rooftop deck offered an amazing view of the city. The location is also pretty good to get to the key sights on foot.
The apartment needs more lights. The bedroom was very dark with only a bedside table lamp for light. There was no overhead lighting.
Very nice loft in a great neighborhoodMay 2022
The loft is really nice and comfortable. The kitchen comes full equipped: oil, salt, pepper, coffee, any kind of plates and glasses. Really nice furniture and lots of space.
Next to the living room is a main road so it was a bit noisy. The stuff at the reception wasn’t really motivated and we had to ask two times how to get to our room and how the keys work. Would be nice if someone could explain those things in the beginning.
The location was perfect. Close to everything; stores, museums, restaurants.
It was very convenient and comfortable and I will definitely visit again!Sep 2022
The location was perfect because I was attending an event at Sheraton which was just 5 minutes walk downtown. the Sonder was also central enough for me to tour the greater Philadelphia downtown.
Petty Bad, we were locked out before 11 am on Sunday. The TV did not work. We could not get inJan 2022
The location was great
The TV did not work and the heat was too dry. Had to purchase a humidifier
A great place to stay even with a few issues.Nov 2022
the location, the cleanliness, ease of parking.
Smoke detector chirping during the night (after we reported it and were told maintenance would come). Only one key fob worked, and there were 3 of us staying there. Staff said they would just let us in because they couldn’t fix it. Also despite paying for early check in, staff was unaware and kept us waiting in the lobby. Sonder did reimburse the early check in fee.
The living room / dining furniture. Seniors don't like practically sitting on the floor (maybe in Japan). Really nice roof terrace but NO sun umbrellas (front desk did not know why). Had to wait a day to get TV remote battery replacement (none at front desk). No visitor map at front desk. You can't stand in the kitchen due to the blowing A/C. Living room rug was bent and a tripping hazzard. Lighting on the microwave did not work.
Comfy, close and 'crungy'Apr 2021
The kitchen had ample equipment for us to eat all meals in the room. Last time I traveled I had to bring my own frying pan! The location was great! It was an easy walk to all the museums; Franklin institute, PMOA, Rodin, Barnes. Not knowing if the weather would be good, I want a place we'd be comfortable in if we had to stay in a lot. The spaces was great - 1,100 square feet! My kids were ready to move in permanently!
Another plus was they had a common space on the 7th floor with kitchen area, leather couches, extra large TV. The kitchen area was really dirty. The garbage hadn't been emptied and there was trash in most the cabinets. The foosball table was fun, but some of the handles had broken off. Last 'dirty' thing was the oven mits, yuck!
Beautiful modern spacious loft May 2021
The apartment was very spacious, with large bedrooms, a huge master bathroom, and a comfortable kitchen and living room area. The check-in process was smooth with the concierge, though they only allowed me to check in as the primary guest (and not my other guests). The apartment was clean and well kept. If you’re not sure what kind of stay this is, it’s like a better Airbnb.
The mechanism to pull out the sofa bed was jammed and it took four people to be able to take it out. There was also no sheet set for it—just a duvet and shams. The toilet paper’s handle in the bathroom was missing, which they notified me of before I arrived. The closet door in the master bedroom was off its rails so we has do put it back in ourselves to be able to use it comfortably.
Spacious loft apartment perfect for family travelers.Dec 2021
The apartment was very spacious and impeccably clean. The decor was really modern and attractive. There was ample metered parking and a municipal garage right out front. The location was quite central, but there wasn’t much right nearby. Very convenient to the highway. Bison Coffee (the cafe in the building) was terrific!
Location wasn’t amazing, but it was fine.
Property nice - check in process/customer service horribleJun 2022
The apartment is surprisingly nice, well appointed with everything you need for a few nights stay and in a decent location. However, the reservation process is so bad I will never stay at a Sonder again. You do not realize how easy it is to check-in to a hotel at other properties until you deal with Sonder. You must work through their awful system and you will be harrassed until YOU get it to work. Did not look at their online reviews on other sites until it was too late.
Reservation process only begins at booking.com and is absolutely horrible. Once you have locked in your rate, you must create an account on Sonder's site. It took about a month to get this complete - I could not verify my phone number (first attempt the verification # was invalid, no new number sent even though I tried on various browsers, computers, phone, tablet). Sonders kept sending reminders to both my email and phone - the one I could not verify. When I contacted customer service, they kept referring me back to the Sonder site with preformulated scripts. When that was finally resolved, you then need to submit a picture front and back of your driver's license/passport and then take 2 pictures of yourself using their app. First attempt was denied - one message said the license picture was unclear, another message said it was too big. Second attempt uploaded a different picture and submitted it twice - again was rejected the 1st time and accepted the 2nd. Took 4 more attempts to upload and get accepted - instructions are very poor, customer service nonexistent and you must wait for a person to accept your submission. Then you get check-in instructions several days before your arrival which are unclear. Good news - someone is on-site to check your ID again and give you keys. Bad news - the key fobs often did not work at the front door, groups would form with everyone having the same issue. Final night, key fob stopped working to apartment. Customer service did get that working again - but several Sonder apartment dwellers were having same issue as well. One hard key is available at front desk and they must keep it. If the building loses power, this front person must have to go to each apartment to let people in to their unit. Both the virtual check-in process and keys fobs are fine ideas - but only if they actually work. Those poor front desk employees somehow kept their cool while dealing with all these issues.
Very goodOct 2022
Stayed 3 nights early October '22. The room is beautifully modern and well equipped. It has a double bed in the room and a full working kitchen with fridge, oven, sink, etc. Also a coffee maker and kettle, with a selection of teas and coffee provided. The bathroom is also well stocked with shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and towels are provided. There's a large walk-in shower. Easy check in and out with a manned service desk. Little electronic tag to open/lock the door, gain access to the property and work the lifts. Really quiet, didn't hear a peep whilst in my room. Pretty handy location, it's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest underground station - Race Vine and there's a Giant food store a few blocks away. Victory Brewery is also about 10 mins walk away for great beers and bar food. It is also easy walking to the main sights. Made a great base. Really enjoyed my stay.
Great space, decent location, lacking some furniture.Dec 2021
Size/space, bed, washer/dryer
Tiny table, no sofa, cigarette/pot smoke from adjacent rooms
We had issues with the oven, but got immediate help with the issue. It could not be fixed, but we were given a bill credit which was very much appreciated.
Upon arriving, the staff was so unprofessional. They also messed up my keys, and someone was already in my room. I went down to the reception and asked if they could have her removed, they ended up giving me a cold shoulder and escorting me to another room that was less the size. The management took 3 hours to respond, and there was no kind of help from the staff at the property. I would not recommend anyone staying here.
An overall nice experienceDec 2021
The rug in front of my bed kept coming up and I tripped a few times.
Property was nice, however, it is definitely overpriced. There were no working lights in the bedroom which was an issue. Additionally the bed was extremely creaky and loud. It was uncomfortable to sleep in due to how much noise it made. I expected a higher quality room for the price
no chance to store luggage
Instead of the smaller room being a nook with a couch.. making it a bedroom with a small bed would be more practical.
Amazing and worth the extra verification hoopsAug 2021
Pretty much everything. The apartment (and it definitely was an apartment, much bigger than your standard hotel) was industrial style, painted brick with high ceilings. It was super quiet despite being right in the museum district and was super clean and equipped with everything you need to have a great stay including a full kitchen.
The keyfob was a little difficult to use with it having to be put on the exact right spot for you to be able to get into the elevator or the apartment. That was pretty much the only issue.
Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Philly.Dec 2021
Parking garage literally across the street with very reasonable 24-hr rates, plus a great little coffee shop just next door. Grocery store 3 blocks away, just off metro stop. Studio apt was super-well equipped. Bldg has good security although we felt quite safe in the neighborhood. 20-min walk to Museum Mile, Reading Terminal, Old Town.
Electric outlets had safety “prongs” and those were broken on both outlets by the bed. Luckily we had 10ft charger cables and the outlet by kitchen table was OK so I could plug in my laptop.
Overall rooms and living space did what I needed. I was traveling with family so the fact that there was and option to add booster or pack and play was a great bonus. High chair was delivered to room before we got there
Original location gave away my room and I was not informed. They were able to book me at another location but further away from where I wanted to be. Building was a older building retrofitted into an attempt at moden living space. If you are looking for regular hotel amenities, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for long term stay without being bothered by concierge/staff...then consider this place. For me, I'd probably not book here again.
Great place, expensive but for a reasonApr 2022
Nice room with lots of facilities, expensive but worth it for what you get.
Annoyingly late check-in time, which they claim you ask to get moved earlier but when you request they do so they decline.
Peaceful+EVERYTHING I expected, wanted+needed. I will recommend+stay again.Mar 2022
Nice+clean unit. Front desk staff+other guests/residents were nice+kind.
I found nothing to dislike.
Highly recommend and will stay at this location again!May 2022
Location was great for me and where I wanted to go. It was clean and bright. The rooftop was wonderful. I found parking near by and used the meter up app which was incredibly helpful.
Key fob was very slow.
great location - but the place is definitely not soundproofed.Oct 2021
location was great. Close to shopping restaurants. Had on site parking ($25/day)
Thumpy McThumpers lives upstairs - so be prepared for listening to someone learning to walk on a pair of peg-legs, as well as trying to dribble a billiard ball.
Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms. Very good value for the $$$.Jun 2022
Location was convenient to restaurants and downtown. Could easily walk to the different sites/parks nearby.
Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!Jul 2022
Location is great. Room is pretty good. They have full kitchenware which is great and we had an amazing time cooking and chilling.
The only downside of the room is that the dryer is very weak and we had to dry our laundry 3 times and they were still a little damp. All the staff are very nice to us but unfortunately Sonder doesn't have inbuilding service. I texted agents on the app asking for extra coffee filters, they tried to get people to get the stuff for me but it didn't work out. I requested a paid late check out, didn't work out neither. Eventually they refunded me a little bit for the trouble. Like I said, staffs are nice, but the lack of inbuilding service is a little unfortunate.
really great stay. i will continue selling out sondersMay 2022
it was a lot of space and really well equipped. it even had a washer and dryer. such good value for the price. the iron was broken and i asked for a new one. i found a functioning one in front of my door the same day.
A very comfortable and secure stay.Oct 2022
It’s central location, spaciousness, security and value for money. It was very well laid out and had everything we needed. Having laundry facilities was an added bonus. we felt safe and secure during our stay. The concierge team were very friendly and helpful.
There was no safe, the dining area was very small. The dining table was too small and too low, only had chairs for 2. There were no blackout blinds so the room was bright at night. The sofa bed wasn’t that comfortable.
It is a beautiful place and extremely comfortable. I loved the bed and the kitchen!
None. Everything was fine.
Sonder Luxury Livingl at its bestNov 2021
I love the studio itself it was huge beyond what I ever thought it was going to be. I thought well it was too much for one person but you know what within a half an hour I got used to having all that space very quickly laughing out loud but truly it has wonderful views , very comfortable it's quiet everything is just so clean. The kitchen is so accessible and everything that you need and I love the Whirlpool washer and dryer oh my god I wish I had those at home I I definitely will come back and I definitely willl book very soon .I would highly recommend it, truly its a super venue to rest and relax.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like I liked everything.
Over all we would stay again when visiting Philly.May 2022
I like the location, the quietness of the entire stay, and I like the spaciousness of the apartments. When heat wasn’t working in the unit, the quick response to relocate us for the night.
The first night had no heat in the unit until maintenance came the next day. Big as the units are there should be more than 1 tv. There was a stain on 1 of the comforters in a bag. When relocated for the night we were giving a unit that was already occupied which we happened to walk in on (very embarrassing).
Spotlessly clean one bedroom close to museumsOct 2021
Great mattress and bedding. Kitchen fully equipped for the longer stays. Very good location, close to museums. Parking on the street is free from 8:00 p.m. to 8: 00. Covered parking nearby is $10 per day.
There were no blackout curtains in the bedroom. Street noise in the morning may wake you up, if you are light sleeper.
Good location and good value.Oct 2021
Great location- easy walk to museums and other sights. Large room with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Very quiet - never heard anyone else.
No cable or streaming on the TV. Large TV screen but you have to cast program or movie from your device to the screen. Thermostat difficult to program. Froze the first night when we arrived late and tired. Figured it out the next morning.
I highly recommend this option over a hotel, beautifulJan 2022
Extremely clean and comfortable. Great location with plenty of parking options. Nearby garages were reasonably priced and plenty of metered parking. I had the large suite with beautiful large windows overlooking the city. The apartment was well equipped. The gym was nice too. I would definitely stay here again.
The walls seemed thin, I could hear people above and room next door.
loved itNov 2022
extra room and was king machine
staff didn’t know too much about anything
Very goodMay 2022
Excellent location. Short walk to city centre. Cafe nearby.
Bedside lighting. Too dim to read.
The stay was great and I can’t wait to go back again!Aug 2022
Everything was to an extremely high standard. The location was perfect.
Everything was included in the studio. Washer/Dryer w/laundry detergent. Dishwasher w/Dishwasher detergent. All kitchen necessities for cooking, including EVOO. Coffee, tea, papertowels.. Perfect location in the museum district. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff.. I will definitely stay again;) Great job hosting Sonder at 1600, Philadelphia, PA. Nailed it.
All the windows of the surrounding buildings, looking at me;) Takes some getting use too. Still the view is very nice.
big room, good locationAug 2022
big room barbecue
The pillows are smell like sour sweat. Parking lot. Difficult to pickup and drop off by car. There is not enough light on living room.
Big and spacious. Great location. Clean. I would stay here again.
Apartment was comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped. The kitchen/dining area was lovely.
Some areas were less clean than they should have been (really only the kitchen). Some appliances were damaged (coffee maker) or non-functional (toaster).
