The surroundings and setting of the accommodation is beautiful. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was amazing.

The staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and generous. The prosperity is lush and beautiful.

The decor is very minimalist and cold. It was a very cold weekend but there was only a small ineffective gas heater with no warm comfortable inviting place to relax.

The staff were standout and absolutely amazing! We also loved the daily breakfast and the ease of a trusted shuttle company throughout the weekend.

Although the rooms were awesome - the bathroom plumbing (shower) wasn’t spectacular- water pressure and drainage could be potentially looked at. We loved the idea of eating at the casual restaurant but felt there could be more “regular” food included in the menu - ie burger / fish / sandwich, and then we would have possibly stayed for more lunch / dinners instead of always venturing out.

it didn’t have much to offer besides the spa. we continuously complained about the smell in the second bathroom but very little seemed to be done about it

The room were exceptionally clean and warm considering that Cape Town was quite cold during my stay.

The room was neat and clean, with lovely views of the garden. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a wonderful surprise. The buffet breakfast was SUPERB!

We booked for a special dinner for our 20th anniversary, but the restaurant where we had to eat was not open after restorations and it seems the booking was forgotten. They made up though with a dessert and starter on the house!

The room was cozy and everything we needed. The bar, bar snacks and food was very nice. Lamb pizza was awesome. Breakfast and staff were very friendly and accommodating. What you want to experience when on holiday.

Having to walk out in the rain to get to the main part of the hotel as we were in a family room. Also interleading family rooms would be nice as well.

Once again an excellent stay! Beautiful room with massive balcony overlooking the mountains. Staff very friendly and professional. The breakfast spread was just amazing 👏 We really enjoyed our stay.

The property is stunning, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was AWESOME and the staff were PHENOMENAL.

The WiFi signal was pretty bad - we struggled to work while we were there and the menu does not cater very much for vegetarians. Would have liked a few more vegetarian menu options.

Whilst the outside accommodation, thatched cottage, and area was breathtaking, unfortunately the place is dated and tired and in need of a full refurbishment. The cottage felt a little damp and cold. The same goes for the main building which was very cold and the staff unattentive unless asked. The eating area was similar to a Spanish all inclusive basic hotel, and the food was very basic.

the most beautiful property we have ever stayed on. the views were magnificent, the staff was impeccable, the bool was amazing, the food was SO SO GOOD!!!!

The location, with the backdrop of the mountain being so dramatic, is stunning, albeit a bit out of the way from the centre of the town, meaning you can’t walk to any cafes or restaurants the garden is well kept and is beautiful. the property looks beautiful The reception staff were very helpful and professional.

property maintenance was poor. we booked a two bedroom Villa. when we arrived, we discovered there were holes in the carpet, live wires left hanging round on the floor in the main bedroom ( very dangerous to say the least) , two of the three bedside lights were broken, the cold and hot taps in the bathroom were wrong way round, none of the bedroom power points were working. the curtain not the right size to cover the bedroom door that lead to the patio… clawing lights in the kitchen not working…. can go on and on ) apart from that everything was lovely !! having said all that when we told the reception staff about these issues the maintenance team came quickly and fixed most of the issues.

The location was excellent, being just the right amount of distance out of town. There was a good view of the mountain opposite us from the balcony and the lounge. In the summer months one could imagine the swimming pool being a great asset.

It has the potential to be a great hotel but things aren't very joined up. The chalet is big but too dark and the heating is not perfect. The restaurant is rather uninspiring. There was a kitchen in the chalet with a hob and an oven but some of the equipment was missing.

they advertise as a smoke free hotel, but guests are smoking all over the terrace, to which the waiter and manager said to us, oh some people break the rules, very disappointing service for the price we paid, as well as the food being a very low level, we ordered the wagyu burger on night one, it was served with an old bagel as the bun, and the meat was as very sub par. we decided not to eat at the hotel for the rest of our stay. General manager was very rude when we gave our feedback and we actually asked to check out early because of the experience we had, his response was we don’t do refunds, we fully booked.

The location is peerless: quiet, scenery, view, etc.

Several issues that should not exist in such an upmarket and expensive place: - The wifi was spotty and slow. In the morning, lights kept coming on and off. - There are not enough wall plugs to charge electronic devices. Time to adapt to our electronic times! - The water pressure was very poor and it took several minutes to get warm water. Not good enough. - Also as one comes here to relax and rest, it would be nice if the bedroom curtains were properly lined or if there were blinds, so one is not awakened by the bright sun at 6 in the morning.

The location is amazing - nestled against a mountainous backdrop. The facility is upmarket with everything you could ever want for a great, relaxing weekend

The location is absolutely stunning. The rooms are well kept and tidy and the staff were very helpful.

We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant, the food was excellent- we were the only table that evening and felt like we were being rushed out after the meal. They started to clear up around us without very little attention to serving us at the table.

The location is absolutely beautiful set amongst the vineyards and orchards of Franschhoek. The food was great and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

The bed was only a double size and was very hard. The duvet should have been king size as a double/queen is not large enough for two people to share in a bed.

The hotel is pretty and the room we had was large and overlooked a nice area - it was clean and comfortable.

The service was actually shocking - over 30 / 40 mins every time we ordered a drink or wine at the table (and the place was empty - a ghost town). We wanted a last drink after dinner at 22h34 and was told the bar closed at 22h00. In a hotel? We asked for room service and was told they didn't "do room service" - their website states otherwise. We said we would return to the table and order another bottle of wine - (the restaurant was empty the entire evening), we were told that the "wine was locked up and they couldn't get the keys". We were clearly not happy so they then offered the non-existent room service (which they do have for future travellers info), we declined and said rather not and the keys to the wine cellar miraculously appeared and we had a last drink (at this point served by a very unhappy manager). It was basically a situation of the staff simply wanting to go home. We were finished and had left the bar area by 23h30 - so covid restrictions and curfew don't apply here. Poor service, many untruths, unhappy staff... average food. On the whole - not the best experience unfortunately. Do not come here thinking you'll be more comfortable and able to enjoy a drink later than you would in a restaurant - I imagine restaurants in town would be more helpful.

The hotel is lovely. Staff very helpful and friendly. Check in was effortless and the bubbles and gift bags for the kids was such a nice touch. The hotel grounds are stunning and clearly the gardens are loved and well maintained. Cocktails were yum. The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere.

our Villa was sparsely equipped and somethings didnt work I.e. airconditioner downstairs wasn't working and it was freezing (end of June!). I had to ask for blankets as they had no heaters. Downstairs was like an ice block, despite the blankets. Air conditioners upstairs worked but were so noisy that we had to switch them off too. Neighbours AC unit outside was so noisy it was like a tractor passing every few minutes. Kitchen didnt have any mugs, there was only 3 dinner plates and a general lack of kitchen items for a simple dinner. There was an unpleasant smell at the top of the steps. The main bathroom door couldnt close, my kids had to leave it slightly open. The 2nd bedroom had no bedside lamp. The carpets/floors need a clean. My daughter had white socks on and after a few hours they were filthy(?)

The grounds on the property are well maintained, with a very tranquil ambiance throughout. An ultimate gem if all you want to do is relax and destress. It is also a very family friendly hotel, and the food at the restuarants is very good and nicely prepared and presented. The breakfast selection is exceptional... a special touch with oysters and MCC to mix your own mimosa! The staff is welcoming and warm, and will go out of their way to assist, where they can. The rooms are spacious, and loved the freestanding bath.

A little bit of refurbishment with the rooms is generally needed ( including the spa), e.g. curtains, removal of carpets, deco, roof, etc. The bathroom have been refurbished. The mouldy carpet smell in the room, made an otherwise comfortable room a bit unbearable to stay-in to enjoy the beautiful ambiance. The roof was leaking at the spa, had to walk over containers holding the water from the rain to get to the massage room. The jacuzzi bath by the pool was not working, even after asking maintainance to fix.The phone in the room not working, and had to walk all the way twice to the reception to report it, but the staff moved me to another room with had a working phone, which was nice of them. The hotel is quite far out from town to visit tourist attractions, and it is very difficult to organize transport to explore around Franschoek through the hotel, if they finally arrange it, it is ridiculously expensive. May be a complimentary guest shuttle to town and back once a day , will go a long way.

The exquisite gardens at Le Franschhoek are incredible, and well-worth a meander around, and if you want to see something truly spectacular, spend some time watching the mist roll down the mountain tops in the mornings. Hats off to the incredible staff who tirelessly work their impeccable grounds. The breakfast is also truly delicious, and the staff are superb - helpful and gracious, we felt very welcome while we were there. Weirdly, one of the things that stands out every time I visit this property is their unique fragrance that greets you at reception - if I could bottle it and bring it home I would do just that. We also loved the size of the family suites and the outdoor pool area with jacuzzi and bar, even if (because of Covid and reduced guest numbers), the outdoor bar wasn't open when we were there. We did have a lovely time and experienced phenomenal service at the indoor bar, where the staff poured us some wonderful gin-based cocktails.

Having stayed in the smaller suites before and seeing the updated furniture there, we did feel that the family suites could use a little decor and fittings update at some point. They were very comfortable, and exceptionally spacious, but they are starting to feel a little dated and frayed in places. We were also a little disappointed at the dinner arrangements, but I suspect that this was a temporary glitch due to Covid-19 restrictions recently being relaxed and the property being in a transition stage of starting to get in tourists again, as we've previously had lovely meals there. The food wasn't bad, but it felt uncoordinated and its casual cafe style felt out of kilter with the austere (and overheated) main restaurant with its grand piano. In retrospect, we should have stayed at the bar and simply enjoyed the casual dining from that lovely, convivial location. Other than that though, Le Franschhoek is spectacular, and we could spend days wandering around the gardens or lounging around its beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces.

The chalets are spacious, staff friendly, secluded location, close to town. Nice spa.

The buffet breakfast was spectacular. Everyone is friendly and staff efficient. Rooms were beautiful. Beds very comfy. We had a brilliant stay.

The hot water in the bathroom on suite did not heat up. We had two bathrooms so that helped.

The breakfast were very good. We had a buffet and we requested a week before the time for halaal meals. The Chefs were very good that they went out of their way to prepare our meals seperately and we were told that their meat and chicken are from halaal source so we could comfortably enjoyed the meals. Thanks to management and Staff.

Not much.The toilet door in bathroom was difficult at times.For firstcomers they can do some more explaining about the room and other facilities.
