Angala

This hidden gem - hidden in the back of Vrede and Lust Wine Estate - is one of those places that is just food for anyone's soul. The gardens - pools - rooms - dining area - views - service - staff - food - just all outstanding. We cancelled all our plans to visit surrounding places and just enjoyed the days around the different pools - especially the natural pool - relaxing and soaking up the garden and views of the magnificent surrounding mountains.

The view is absolutely spectacular and the breakfast was good. The gardens and pools are out of this world, and the jacuzzi and sauna are great! Such a magnificent property with views that take your breath away. The friendly staff go out of their way to make your stay exceptional.

The rooms could have a bigger selection of teas and coffees.

The team at Angela were superb. Aubry, the manager was super accommodating and went out of his way to help us experience a magical start to my wife's birthday. The whole team came out at breakfast with a cake and candles and sang her happy birthday! Amazing team work. The property is secluded, so you have peace and quiet (although currently they are building a house close by so that noise will be temporary). We got an upgrade and stayed in room number 2 ! Perfect. Peacocks calling out, mountain views, great outside shower, spacious room, curtains closed of nearly all of the light so we could get an excellent sleep. I took the opportunity to use their Sauna, and the hot tub. Nobody else was there so it was peaceful bliss! One thing to note - they have two staff members who have been working on the property for 22, and 25 years. The longest serving lady, Cerene, is amazing to speak to. She treats you like family and goes out of her way to help (and now her daughter also works for them in the kitchen as a chef! ). Well done Angala! You did your owners proud - great team work.

A peacock in the room ? (lol) Kidding... everything was great. Nothing to complain about. If you don't want to have dinner at the property you will need to drive somewhere else like Franschoek - but that too was a great experience.

There is nothing not to like! Its a little slice of heaven!

The location was charming, peaceful, and secluded. The layout of the establishment was very good, everything close by and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff. The hot tub and pool was fabulous, the rooms were so well layed out and spacious and the attention to detail was 1st class. Highly recommended 👌🏻

Nothing stands out as being a negative. If you plan on eating at the hotel, be aware that it's a fixed dinner menu. This may not appeal to some guests but the food was superb 👌🏻

The hotel looks and feels amazing. The eco pool is beautiful and relaxing, and the heated pool is awesome. Food is also great. We had a great time!

Sometimes you lucky when you arrive at your hotel destination and it feels like your family. Donavan, Carmen and Max what amazing souls you are. Angala is love and peace intertwined with beautiful nature and it's people. The energy of love runs deep at Angala. Go if you need to immerse yourself in nature, if you need to be grounded if you need to just be and breathe. You will be spoiled by the surroundings, the finer in room finishes, the relaxed swim in the eco pool, sauna and hot tub. Delicious food prepared by Max with great attention.
