Jun 2022Wonderful staff; so friendly and helpful. Can't say enough about how wonderful they were. And everything was spotlessly clean. The location was great: right across from the water, close to town and yet private. We would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend to others who want a very friendly, very clean, economical traditional lodging.
Our unit didn't have air conditioning. Fans and the ocean breeze kept us cool (even chilly at times!), but the open windows also made it a little noisy, especially from a dog that barked at night.
The Best Place we Could’ve Stayed
Aug 2021We were only in San Pedro for 3 nights. I had to change our stay last minute and Hotel Del Rio upgraded us to a beach side cabana. It was so cute and right in the ocean! The staff was lovely and we just adored our little cabana!

Feb 2023We stayed a few different places during our visit to San Pedro and this was our favorite spot. We liked this location the best and the room/general areas were nice. We definitely recommend it.

Jun 2022We got in late, but they where very accommodating. The view was amazing! Looked right out into the Caribbean Sea and the reef! Every day they came and cleaned the room, made the beds. Everyone was so friendly!
I don't have anything I didn't like. It meet all of our expectations. It's a little worn around the edges, but what do you expect?

Apr 2022The staff at Hotel del Rio was superb. Chris in particular was phenomenal, helpful and welcoming. She was so knowledgeable about the island and activities. She was able to check on snorkeling tours, golf cart rentals and other adventures. She went our of her way to make our trip more enjoyable. She also booked us into a quiet room on our request. The palapa area outside reception was a great place in which to hang out. They had a cafe on the premises.
It was all great.
Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
Apr 2022The security was great, A/C works very well, hot water and clean bathroom. Loved seeing the ocean as soon as I walked out the door. Comfy Hammocks. The breakfast spot in front had great food, coffee and service. Walking distance to many popular bars.
I honestly loved everything. Can not wait to go back soon.

Dec 2022The property managers were great and we loved that there was a cafe right next to our room. The rooms were always cleaned when we returned even if we went out for a short time. The location was perfect near the water, restaurants and bars. We even had the pleasure of witnessing a wedding that the hotel hosted. Our stay at this hotel made our visit so pleasurable that every time we return to San Pedro we will be staying at Hotel Del Rio.
There was no complaints from me and my husband.

Mar 2022The property is in such a great location. The little coffee stand upfront is great. Chris, the manager is absolutely wonderful. The room was spacious, clean and really comfortable.

The smell!
One side of the sea shore is filled up with the sea grass. The sea grass was cumulated alone the sea shore and fermented, which made terrible smell. It was impossible to swim. I was told this bad smell started in 2015 and it getting worse. I really hope they could get rid of this terrible smell.

Feb 2023Such a great place to stay! Staff was welcoming and friendly. Great folks to talk to. I loved how close it was to the water. Best of all was the fact that even though it was only a very short distance away, it was so much less congested than "downtown." Added bonus--bakery, Roadrunner and Arabella's right around the corner.

May 2022So quaint. You could tell they take pride in their property and business. Little coffee shop right on property. Great location! Just a small dirt road between the property and the Caribbean water, with unobstructed view. Out of "town" but still easy walking distance (and I mean really easy!) to restaurants, bars, massage, etc. Felt like a family member visiting rather than a hotel guest. Looking forward to returning!
