Apr 2022Wonderful view of the river, very friendly staff, and extremely comfortable and clean accommodations. Good location for relaxing or sightseeing. Wonderful room decor and layout, very spacious!
The only negative would be that you can just barely hear the subway going past underneath the property. I only heard it after waking up in the morning, but didn’t hear it the during the day or in the evening. Slept thru it completely

Dec 2022Very convenient location, in Gion and also near downtown area (many shops and eateries). We could walk to many places that we wanted to visit. Also very near Sanjo Station when we needed to take the train. Room was very spacious and comfortable and warm enough in winter. Much thanks to the female staff who gave us champagne to celebrate a birthday! It was a very lovely surprise.
We requested for higher floor but it was not available. Our room was on the 2nd floor and our window faced the 2nd floor of the Gion shop across the road. The bathroom was really nice and big but there was no hook nor towel rail to hang bath towels, so we hung towels on the heater. Also no extendable laundry line above the bathtub, so we had to improvise a bit during our 4-night stay.

Mar 2021The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was welcomed with the most beautifully decorated snack and tea during check in. The decor is very stylish and relaxing. The lighting is the best I have ever had in a hotel. And although at a main road you could not hear any traffic noise due to the great soundproofing. The location is perfect. Close to many interesting sights and to the subway.

Feb 2023The room is nicely designed, clean, gets lots of light, and has a comfy bed. My wife and I had a quiet, comfortable stay here. The double sliding doors eliminate all road noise (I'm noise-sensitive). We booked for a night and then extended for three more.

Nov 2022Spacious rooms (double the size of regular Kyoto hotels at this price range) with quality solid wood cabinetry, floor-to-ceiling glass patio doors on river view rooms, comfortable chairs and couch, large modern bathrooms make this hotel a winner for multi-day stays. Walking distance to Gion and many important sights. Beautiful luxe street with antique stores. English and Mandarin speaking staff available. Breakfast (if included in your rate) is served privately as room service, not in a common dining room.
Lower floor river view rooms are close to noisy road if you open the patio doors.
