Jan 2022We throughly enjoyed the Club Lounge, it was one very nice with great service. We never ate breakfast there as we chose the mega buffet on the main dining room for breakfast instead but we did partake in afternoon tea and happy hour. The tea has fresh fruit, desserts and finger food. The happy hour was excellent with fresh fruit, small salad bar, salad sets, great bread and yummy desserts. They also brought out a series of hot plates. My wife and I left each evening full. We were there during Xmas and they played Xmas music the whole time which added to the ambiance.
Two things that aren’t ideal are that the location was not that great (can’t be fixed and I’d still go back anyway.) My other gripe is that they don’t replenish things quick enough in the lounge. I think this could be improved upon by just better planning and organization. I worked in food and beverage for 20 years. It’s a simple fix, all in all.

I booked a lower price on the app than I was charged when I got there. It was at least a 1000¥ more expensive than originally quoted.

Jul 2022The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in China - very high quality and HUGE selection. For example, the bacon is hand carved off a slab of meat, not out of a package like most other hotels. Very impressed. The room itself was spacious but a little dated. Bar is open until 2am which is later than most hotel bars in China. Location is great, in the heart of Tianhe close to awesome bars and restaurants. Huge gym with lots of equipment.
The pool is very small, more than a few swimmers in it at a time and it feels crowded. Not many English/foreign TV channels (e.g., no HBO, just CNN and one English B-movie channel). Some of the staff seem a bit undertrained - I asked the bellhop in the lobby where the washroom was and he pointed into somewhere into the first floor lobby bar - spoiler, there was no washroom in the lobby bar. Frustrating because I walked the length of it trying to find it. I'd just expect staff to be a little more attentive. At breakfast we also were led to a table, and had another guest steal it when we came back to sit down - I guess the staff weren't paying attention.

Aug 2021Sofitel with the exclusive club is always the best option in GuangZhou. The 5 stars service is a real worldwide 5 stars service. People working there are so nice and good educated, rooms are always ready and clean and they smell so good, they don't smell humidity or cigarette. For sure this is the best choice in the city.
It is just a small detail. The temperature in the swimming pool was very cold.

The staff was very helpful and available. English level was excellent.
The shower head in the bathtub was broken which is a little bit disappointed in regard of how well the room was. Although, it is a minor point.
