Restaurant was closed, no breakfast was available and we were not told about it before arrival. Only Freeview channels are available to watch, so not great for “luxury”.

Dec 2022quiet, quaint, comfortable, clean, and perfectly located. the room was excellent. spacious with lovely views. laundry facilities were an added bonus! really liked that if wax slightly outside the main busy area of the village but only a 3 minute drive to restaurants.
we did not get to enjoy the on-site dining, but we really appreciated the recommendations. there’s nothing really that we didn’t enjoy. It was absolutely perfect!

Mar 2023Our room was upgraded, giving us a spa and more space. Very clean. Quiet and peaceful setting. Lots of lovely eating places to choose from in town.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't very co-operative, raining quite a bit. Can't plan everything!

Feb 2020It's isolated. So maybe the peaceful environment was something I liked.
Book this property only if you have a car. A trip to town costs you NZD 12.50 Per Person Per Trip. Also make sure that you get a room that has a window. We supposedly booked a 'King Suite' and the only 'opening' it had was a glass door. At NZD 400 per night it was a let down.
A wonderful and relaxing stay

Literally this is an oasis of tranquility after visiting the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.
A beautiful, garden setting on the north side of Franz Josef.
We sat out on the decking overlooking the pond late afternoon listening to birdsong.
The rooms were amazing, spacious, well planned with a huge bed and large bathroom.
We paid for continental breakfast and were very happy the selection.

Dec 2022having had a few issues with the TV and fridge these were sorted out very quickly and appreciated the gesture of a free breakfast to make up for it
TV was not working, neither was the fridge (but as above this was sorted quickly). A bit far out of town with no real view of the mountains so unsure why the cost was so high compared to other places further into town
