Feb 2023Very good, fresh excellent and daily slightly changing Breakfast. We had the local variety with Dosa, Idly, eggs in different ways, tea, coffee, fresh juices, fried Bananas, Pineapples, etc!!!
Bicycles are available, so you can discover the neareby surroundings.

Rooms are rather dark and not too spacey although quite nicely furnished.

Feb 2023This place was really beautiful! Whoever built the house did so with love and care & made a lovely heritage-like place. The museum and artifacts added to the charm of the place. It was spotlessly clean and the ambience was like home! It was looked after by ladies and they served us excellent meals made with warmth and affection!

May 2023The staff at the hotel were phenomenal and took the meaning of hospitality to another level. They helped us with arranging almost everything in our trip from boat rides to transport. I would definitely come back again and recommend Kumarakom Wood Castle to others.
Everything was perfect from cleanliness, staff, infrastructure, etc, perhaps the only thing was that Kumarakom is like a small town and the only major attractions are the backwaters and birdwatching so I suggest visiting neighbouring Allepey using the government ferry service which is extremely affordable. The staff at the hotel also guided us on how to to that.

Feb 2023The hosts were very welcoming and helpful - they organised a boat tour and massage for us. The use of the bikes was great too. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying here when in Kumarakom.

Dec 2022Staying at wood castle felt like visiting family. The hosts are amazing and the rooms beautiful. We doubled the length of the stay we initially planned! They can help arrange great local experiences and have cool antique artifacts to see in their private collection.
