JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity

Well appointed. Everything you’d expect of a 5 star hotel.

Staff at reception were cruel. Our booking.com reservation included dinner and breakfast. Reception staff tried to make us pay for both (even though we skipped breakfast). They also tried to charge us for using the minibar which we didn’t touch at all! After arguing with the reception team, they acknowledged our booking.com reservation and didn’t charge us extra. Experience was highly embarrassing and uncomfortable.

The staff were excellent and tried to be very accommodating.

The booking was for 2 double beds but we only got one. This is because we also asked for a wheelchair-accessible bedroom. These rooms only have one double bed. This could have been clearer. They did offer to add a bed at no extra charge but this would have cramped up the room. The promotion did not say that the shuttle to the airport was at an extra charge of almost 10% of the cost of the room. This should have been clearer up front and it was very disappointing.

The JWMarriot is great for a layover or work meeting at the hotel. The breakfast was nice and a wide variety of foods from Asian to American to local and so on. The staff during breakfast were all wonderful!

The lighting in the bathroom was pretty dark compared to other JW Marriots I had stayed at. There were a few bed bugs that I couldn’t see until I had the flashlight of my iPhone on them in the sheets. Make sure the swipe down the sheets when staying there. There was some initial communication issues with the staff from my booking as I had a 3am or so arrival inn Oct2 but they said it would count as an additional night and they allowed me to sit in the lobby and check in about 6-7am ish as I would be charged a night if I did it before then. I decided to head over the Holiday Inn near the JW Marriot as I had to stay over one more night and didn’t want to stay somewhere I pay so much and have insects on my sheets. I had large welts on my ankles in the morning from the bed bug bites. The ironing board was dirty and couldn’t use it and overall the room really needed a scrubbing as it was dusty and not clean. The apples were also old and not edible. The hotel it self needs a lot of fixing up. Even the bathroom doors in the lobby look like they were falling apart (see photos attached) The staff at checkout asked me how my stay was and I said it was ok no followup of what we could’ve done to make it a better stay or anything of the sort. Also airport transfers one way for a 10minute ride from the airport will cost you $23.00usd. It’s much cheaper to use Uber. Definitely check out the bad reviews of the Marriot before deciding to stay here for more than a night. Not worth it.

The hotel is clean, the staff is charming and welcoming. Choice of the international cuisine is good.

their restaurant for dinner buffet ! allotted us.a seat and while we went to get some salad, allotted it to someone else then changed our seat with apologies and served us some drinks. in the end told us those drinks were not part of the buffet but incorrectly served to our table and that they r deducting it from our bill during checkout while leaving for airport early in the morning, we didnt see those deductions and since kitchen was closed, they spent some good timw figuring that out until the manager finally waived it off after looking into it.
