Jan 2023We stayed here twice during our stay in Japan in December 2022 and this was the first hotel I picked because of the matcha theme.
The amenities the hotel provides in the bedroom are very good and I ended up using just theirs. we even bought shampoo for ourselves cause we liked it that much.
The actual bedroom felt very light and spacious for the 2 of us. It was really great to have the chance to try the teas before buying them.
We found mattress was hard. Not sure if it is because the Japanese prefer to have a hard mattress.
Thank you for such a great experience, we loved staying here and would love to come back!
Feb 2023We loved everything about staying at Hotel 1899. The staff were so amazing, accommodating and friendly. The tea ‘theme’ makes the hotel so relaxing and pretty and being able to go have some tea made for us day or night was so comforting especially after being out in the winter cold (it even snowed one of the days!)
Soothing stay for green tea lovers.
Feb 2023We decided to stay here out of our love for green tea, and they did not disappoint. We enjoyed all the green tea treats (i.e., green tea latte and green tea ice cream) and amenities. Our favorite interaction was with the friendly cafe staff - they were the sweetest! Also, the staff was extremely helpful over the message if you have any inquiries beforehand.

Sep 2022Very nice ambience in the hotel. The staff members were also super friendly even though their English was not fluent. The room was super clean, provided with loads of amenities and very comfortable.
I would have liked some more vegetarian options for the breakfast. Please also clearly indicate which options are vegetarian and which ones are not using logo's.

The rooms where great and super comfortable. Breakfast was a nice mixture of Japanese and European food. We loved it.
Great value for money but you get what you paid for
Jan 2023The service was excellent, my partner was unwell overnight, and the lady that checked us in and did the night shift was extremely helpful all night. Such excellent service. There was also a bath tub in the tiny room, so that was a bonus. The tea service was fantastic.
For value for money, I would rate it 10/10 given the price; however, other reviews mentioned state that the bed was also hard; I should have asked for a mattress topper as the reviews suggest.
There were also no guest laundry facilities; it was the only hotel that didn't have them throughout our stay.
It's also not as close to the train station as I would have hoped.
Great trip
Jul 2021The room was perfect size. Most hotels I have been to in Tokyo, are very small. There were different types of tea to drink.
The service was absolutely amazing. They answered all my questions, and anything needed so politely.
They took all the great precautions during the COVID time. Your can have piece at mind here.
During my next with trip, I will be staying here.
The cafe was was not open all the time. How ever the food and service was amazing.

Dec 2022There are so many things to like about this hotel. Check in was smooth. The hotel is very beautiful, we love the design of the room. The room is very clean and tidy, we felt very comfortable staying here. It’s a perfect stay if you want to feel relax. We really enjoyed their breakfast buffet, the food was so delicious and the staffs were very kind and the service is excellent. I’m glad check out time is 12pm, it is rare to find a hotel that has a later check out time. It gave us more time to sleep in. We appreciate all the staff for working so hard to make this hotel experience so wonderful. We will definitely come back and stay here again.
Great for tea lovers
Jan 2022The hotel was very clean and had a nice, relaxing atmosphere.
We enjoyed having tea in the lobby and the hotel’s breakfast in the cafe on the first floor was delicious with a nice variety of food.
The room wasn’t very big, but neither was it too small. My wife and I were very comfortable. The room had everything we needed and was designed efficiently.
As for location, it wasn’t far from Onarimon Station on the Mita Line, so it was fairly easy to get to from there.
Overall, we loved everything! We were able to walk to most places we wanted to go from the hotel, but otherwise we took a taxi. If you’re looking to use the JR lines, it might be a bit of a walk.

Mar 2023The hotel was quiet and extremely comfortable, despite being in a really busy part of Tokyo. The location was great, with easy access to all parts of the city via Shimbashi station.
I usually don't comment on the toiletries provided, but this hotel had exceptionally good quality products and a large range was provided in the room. If you had a brief stay in Tokyo you would not need to unpack/bring toiletries (for either men or women).
The tea service was also a nice touch.
Don't bother with the breakfast. We arrived at 9:30 and it was very slim pickings, nothing like the photo display encouraging you to have the breakfast buffet. There even wasn't any hot water for tea!
Up to my expectations! I recommend for a stay around Minato City!
Mar 2023The hotel is very clean, pretty, the rooms are well equipped, and notably in the bathroom where they provide much more than other hotels that I have stayed in, e.g. toothbrush, bath-salt, body cream etc...
The wifi was a bit slow, so that I was not able to perform certain activities smoothly, but this is really a detail.

Oct 2022Such a stunning and nice hotel. Great location and starting point to explore the city. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Small but very clean rooms and well equipped for a city trip. Can highly recommend this hotel.
