The staff at the hotel was excellent, extremely helpful and convivial at all times. The ambience, style and architecture of the hotel imbued an old "colonial" charm. The rooms are extremely comfortable. The pool was small but adequate with plenty of sun loungers and deck chairs.

The property is absolutely beautiful. The stay was wonderful. I would like to recognise Mouayad Khader, Asst Front Desk and Reservation Manager for his great and his help and advice on customising our tour experience. In this regard, I should mention our fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide Hisham. I recommend him strongly.

The hotels public areas are so comfortable and welcoming. For my husband and I it was very much a treat at the price we paid so the room was disappointing as it only had a flat roof outside which looked like an access area and not as special as we had hoped. We would not pay a lot of money in the future for our rooms unless we were assured of something more pleasant.

The front desk was fantastic - the housekeeping really did a neat job. If you get room 4, 5 or 6 the balcony faces the swimming pool -- but in general great experience. The bar and the restaurant were excellent

The American Colony is a beautiful and elegant oasis amidst the crowds of Jerusalem.The rooms, courtyard and gardens are lovely, and the staff, Alaa in particular, took such special care of us. I have traveled all over the world, and the American colony stands out as one of the finest hotels.I highly recommend this hotel.

The American Colony Hotel is a hidden gem in Jerusalem. I booked it based solely on positive reviews but it was so much more than that. First, it’s a historic hotel that still reflects the beauty and charm of when it was built. This was our first trip to Israel and we had no perspective on Jerusalem or what locations were both safe and convenient. Sited at the intersection of East and West Jerusalem, we loved the hotel’s location because it was easy to walk to sites in the old city of Jerusalem but it was outside of the noise and chaos of the most touristy areas. We stayed in a Pasha Deluxe room in the old hotel with a balcony overlooking the hotel’s beautiful pool and the view was lovely. Most importantly, the entire staff…from the front desk to the bell men, housekeeping staff, wait staff, and the concierge…were all focused on providing great service during our stay. I relied heavily on the concierge to arrange tours with private guides and transportation. The concierge staff was knowledgeable and responsive in answering questions quickly and in planning the excursions we wanted during our stay. Our guide for two days, Emil, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional as was our driver, Faisal. There is also a wonderful bookstore and antique and textile store on the hotel grounds if you have downtime for browsing. We are so happy we found The American Colony Hotel for our first stay in Jerusalem…we’ll definitely be back!

Its an oasis in the middle of a hectic and alive part of Jerusalem, not a cheap oasis but definitely a good one. The food is fabulous, the room was unique and comfortable and the staff were exceptional. Didn't like that our room had absolutely no view.

I have been coming here to The American Colony for 20 years. It has not changed. Many of the same faces are still working here. It is like coming home. My favorite hotel in the world.

I am a travel agent and booked for two clients. The hotel staff was super nice, even offered to have a cold dinner in case the guests didn’t make it on time for the dining room hours. The guests would have preferred the Mamilla area maybe. I particularly like this area better . I think it is more “real”Overall a great place

Fantastic property and staff! Everyone very friendly and helpful. Vey beautiful and historic hotel in great location! Would gladly come again!

Facilities are bit old but well maintenanced. Great location close to old city and tram station. Good food in the restaurant. Definitely stay here again.
