Crowne Plaza Hotel Foster City - San Mateo, an IHG Hotel

Trip was fantastic

This was one of my most disappointing stays at any property. The hotel no longer offers shuttle service yet they have 4 shuttle buses sitting in the parking lot. The commode in my room became an issue. Friends and I decided at the last minute to eat on site. The posted close time was 10 PM yet they rushed us out of the bar at 9:30. And to add insult to injury, one of the elevators was down from Saturday afternoon and remained down for the entire weekend.

The Staff was outstanding in every detail. the dinning was great.The night night club in the hotel was great. you have everything and no need to go anywhere unless you wanted to. an a great place to go for New year.

The rooms smell musty and like body odor. This hotel is in need of upgrades and modifications. The pool was warmer than the hot tub.The AC unit in my brother's room did not work, and the door to his patio whistled with the wind blowing.Shower heads are really low, and i'm only 5'5"

The rooms are nice and I felt safe at the hotel. However, the rooms face the freeway so it is very loud at night with traffic noise. Maybe the should itself some type of sound proof windows.

The room had a mildew stench and the AC/fan did not work

The room/bed was very comfortable.

The place is beautiful, specially the inner court. What we disliked was that the pool was being remodeled, and there’s no continental breakfast.

The location is quite convenient. It is close to restaurants, banks, Foster City Leo Ryan Park and being at the center of Foster City is the main reason of my stay at Crowne Plaza. But the staff at the front desk need customer service as they were unfriendly and unmotivated. I requested for additional one mug as I booked for 3 people and there were only 2 mugs in the room. The front desk staff said mugs and glass is only limited to 2 per room which is nonsense. Since I insisted, the staff gave me one mug and one glass. With Covid and other illnesses, does this hotel expect their guest to share mugs and glasses for guest who are more than two in a room. Unacceptable

The lady at the front desk during my check out was extremely rude and especially in helpful to my little sister. I believe the woman was predgudice. As her behavior seemed a little sinister towards my sister. I had to drive all the way back out to foster city from East Oakland because a simple phone call was not enough for her. I’m not even supposed to leave my mother alone, as she is currently in hospice. I am extremely disappointed in the behavior of this woman and when she seen that I was visibly upset she threatened to call the police on me, even though she was NOT THREATENED OR ASSAULTED BY ANYONE! I found her to be rude, inconsistent, and a liar. She claimed to not have the number for the corporate and refused to give the number to me, also claimed to be the manager however she was NOT! Even when I arrived am produced my identification she still refused to give my sister a key to the room. Matter of fact she felt it necessary to point it out to my sister that she was giving me the key and not my sister, which I find to be alarmingly immature behavior for such a nice hotel! I whole heartedly believe the woman was prejudice. To top it all off my $50 dollar deposit was never returned to me and also, they claim to have refunded the room for my last night stay and she didn’t do it still to this moment have yet to receive my refund.

The hotel room has really old carpets and furniture. Bathroom gets easily flooded wit the shower. Very muggy

The hotel in general was very nice. One issue arose when we finally got to the hotel one day late due to a flight cancellation. The hotel occupied our room, and they only had two queen beds upon our arrival. We then had to move the following day to get our king room. As of this writing I have not heard from the hotel after they had taken my phone number and email address.

The hotel had easy access from the freeway and ample parking. Hotel personnel were helpful and professional. Only problem was the heating/air condition was not working. Maintenance tried to fix the problem but couldn't. They left me a note in the room that they contacted and recommended that the front desk offer another room. Because I was visiting family and friends I was tired and was getting into the hotel after midnight and didn't want to worry about getting another room.

The front desk personnel were not friendly. The wi fi was not provided automatically upon check in. When I called over the phone they don’t have phone etiquette. Our needs were not met when I asked for 2 towels. I only had 2 for a reservation of 4 people. NO Microwave and hair dryer.

The beds are so comfortable and the staff was so nice and accomodating

Terribly slow and bad service, asked for simple items three times but never received them, had to give up eventually

Strange experience. Kids crib came almost 2 hours after arriving. Pull out bed had zero sheets or pillows. They have a channel for movies that literally doesn’t work. Just an awkward stay. All around, sloppy for a Bay hotel. If traveling with kids, avoid. If a couple, it’s perfect.

Staff very friendly and efficient. Room clean and a good size. Great location close to some shopping a few restaurants. Very little traffic around hotel. Hotel facilities a bit dated and old AC unit in the room a bit noisy.

Smooth process at check in. Friendly and very accommodating staff. Room was clean, and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay.

Saturday night, I didn’t know there’s a discotheque that play music till 1:00 am, otherwise I would never choose this hotel, plus in the reception they took approximately 25 minutes to register even when no one was waiting

Receptionist was super nice and helpful. Convenient for me. Close to the airport.

Pros: Safe and quiet, nice pool and hot tub (it was never busy), dining options, easy highway access, shopping nearby, walkable restaurants Cons: Shower was weak and never got hot, no airport shuttle, rooms were a little dated and small.I would stay here for a couple of night but I would choose a different place if you’re planning on staying longer.

Pretty dated hotel that shows everywhere…room ac was extremely loud and hardly cooling the room…booked last min but pretty sure will find a better choice next time

Phone in room did not work, shower did not drain properly, and walls are very thin because you could hear the tv on the other room. Heard yelling at 2:30 am and 5am. Will not stay there again.

Parking lot easy to excess.

Our room is very nice, comfortable, and clean, staffs are very friendly and courtious. Breakfast buffet are excellent. Will definitely come back!

Our family had a pleasant stay here for the weekend.
