Hampton Inn Los Angeles-Orange County-Cypress

They didn’t enforce the indoor mask rule including employees. It was very frustrating trying to get into elevators with people who were not wearing masks despite signs stating that mask wearing was mandatory. Would not recommend it during the pandemic.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The cleanliness was on the low spectrum. The shower was pretty bad, especially the floor condition. Sorry, just being honest. The walls are pretty thin, you can hear your neighbors talking and moving about. It’s really too bad because the location is great.

the room was so old and disgusting that I only stayed for one of the two nights I paid for. This is definitely NOT a 8.8 rating. You could hear every step the guy on top of me made., Then he decides to get up at 6:00 which means I have to wake up then too because the walls and ceiling are paper thin, The place is a dump!

The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is perfect with lots of amenities nearby. Even in the time of COVID, they keep the place incredibly clean and we felt completely safe the whole time.

There’s lots of options of restaurants to choose from. Property looks maintained but in need of a renovation on the inside.

The people at the front desk were beyond helpful. I believe his name was Tan. Such a great help. The buffet is way above average also. I’ll be back next time I have to come to this area.

The hotel had what looked like black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and living area. The shower head looked full of lime and the pressure was terrible. They were cleaning the room once in the time we stayed there (which I completely understand” but when I asked about getting a few towels, the garbage removed and a roll of toilet paper she said I had to come get all those things and to just leave my garbage outside the door. I saw garbage in the hallway and just think it makes the hotel look trashy and dirty. Bugs are attracted to garbage…yuck. A plus was the breakfast was pretty good although it was the same thing every day we stayed there.

The best thing about this property was its breakfast. Every morning it had waffles some form of eggs with sausage bacon or beef sausage and potatoes, cereal oatmeal and muffins. Another good quality was the location, its close proximity Taget and a bunch of places to eat. The room itself was not all that clean. I have stayed at many Hampton Inns before and I expected it to be spotless. There was hair in the cubbys in the bathroom and a lot of dust. Another big thing worth mentioning is, due to whatever crazy Covid policy they dont clean your room unless you are staying there more than 4 days. We stayed there for 6 nights and so we had our room cleaned just once. This made things feel much more like we were staying at an Airbnb with a nice breakfast. Having that said I would not recommend staying here if its more than 2 nights. My biggest complaint: when I checked in initially I had two reservations (we decided to start our trip one day earlier). I had a 1 night reservation and then a 5 night reservation. The initial check-in was fine. Jimmy had us checked in quick and easy. I told him we had another reservation and he said thats great just notify the staff tomorrow morning before you leave so they know and you can keep your room and not have to change rooms. The next morning I did just that only to have Aaron tell me that I never paid for this reservation or that expedia never paid and that I needed to call expedia and that my reservation was canceled.

Termites in my room. They sent me a text letting me know that it was time to check out and had already checked out at 7:15 that morning. Also they made me check out and recheck in.

Stayed here for a couple nights to visit Knottsberry Farm, and it worked out perfectly.

Squeaky uncomfortable bed and bathroom fan was broken

Second time I stayed as a guest here. I enjoy the property as it is away from the main street and located in a high end technology center. The beds are very comfortable. The hot breakfast buffet is a very nice amenity, especially in this time of COVID. I did not like the Housekeeping policy of "No services while the room is occupied". I understood this to mean that I would need to leave the room while the housekeeper cleaned the room and made the bed. Nope. It actually means that there will not be services while the room is rented. I actually had more direct interaction with staff = asking for extra blankets, exchanging towels, asking for more bath soap, getting rid of daily trash, getting new trash liners. This is not a well thought-out policy and exposed both myself and the staff to COVID than if the traditional housekeeping policy was adhered to. On the plus side - the staff are very professional, helpful, and pleasant. I would recommend this location for business travel.

Room was nice. Only problem I had was late night stomping from the floor above me.

Room not ready for check in till after 6 pm. AC -heater in room in-op. So just left off since the room temp was OK. Except on third night returning to room at 11 pm Opened door to room & found heat had come on by it’self & room was close to 100 degrees. Went to front desk & clerk had no rooms. Gave me a little fan after asking. Window only opened 4 in but what do you do. They did comp the night Oh boy

Really nice hotel that’s tucked in a corner so it’s rather quiet. It was July fourth weekend so a few people out at the pool but didn’t really bother us with the noise and music. Rooms are indoors. Everything is clean. Front desk is very kind and nice. Parking is free and on site. Close to Knott’s or Long Beach or seal beach.

Property was very clean and smelled like new. Free breakfast had a variaty of food. Friendly staff.

Property was great and in a great location. Great restraint in-house and in the surrounding areas.

Overall the stay was good with the exception of 2 issues. 1st the bed frame was a little squeaky but only when getting in, so more of an annoyance. 2nd there was a dead cat in the parking lot. When I brought this to the young man at the counters attention after 7:00 pm he mentioned that animal control was called the day before, and had not come out so he would need to call them again. since it was after 7:00 that really means that if your lucky they would be there the next day. Which means that this dead cat would be sitting in your parking lot for at least 3 days. I'm sure a pair of gloves and a trash bag and a dumpster would have gotten the job done. Its just a dead cat and the longer you wait the worse it is.

Overall, the hotel and stay were fine. The accommodations seemed a bit older-style and a little worn for a Hampton Inn (IMHO). The common areas were clean and comfortable, but we were a little disgusted to find the carpet in our room had not been vacuumed, and there were literally a dozen or so toenail clippings from the previous guest in the middle of the room between the two beds. (BTW: what inconsiderate guest thinks THAT is okay - just cut your toenails and leave them on the floor for the maid to clean up?) My wife is a bit of a germ-a-phobe anyway, so this didn't sit well. We were tired, so waited til morning to bring it to the attention of the manager, who was extremely apologetic, and quickly sent maid-staff to clean up the room. Their response was appropriate and concerned, so we feel they did what was right. Tam, (the manager at that time) is very helpful and excellent at what he does. The hotel staff was also accommodating with a request to freeze our ice-blocks for our travel on departure day. Breakfast was simple but good, and the kitchen staff was great. I would stay there again, but will be asking to get a perfectly clean room!

Our room is extremely clean and I appreciated the fact that even the linens look like they were ironed. The food for breakfast was great lots of selection. The pool was pretty warm. No jacuzzi but it was still nice. Perfect place for a quick getaway.

Net net:-Decent free breakfast-clean room-loud banging noise that they could not identify-maid service upon request only(many hotels are doing this)-in an adjoining room - could hear TV of next room loudly and clearly. Unable to relocate me. -AC unit was incredibly noisy-staff all very nice-decent snack and sundry shop
