May 2023Very kind and helpful staff. The room was newly renovated. Walking distance to the main street with lovely shops, great food and a waterfront.
No complaints. Booking.com should notify the property when customers like me are booking a room with a pet. The property was welcomed my pet and didnt give me a run down room like most hotels do. There was a $10 pet fee for additional cleaning.

Jul 2021The woman that runs it is very kind. I believe she employs some of the long term residents, which gives the place a very friendly feeling. The location is a good one in Westport. One of the only places that allows dogs. The air conditioning looked old but in fact it was quite good at cooling the room.
They really need blackout curtains. The light from porch area made the inside of the room quite bright at night. Bring an eyeshade if you are sensitive to that. I ended up using a mask.

Nov 2022The beds were extremely comfortable and clean. All appliances worked. Room was very clean and quiet. Parked right in front of our door. Well located in the town and convenient to restaurants and shopping.
I didn’t like that the main door to the room had no peep hole, the door knob was really old and simple key operated, there was no deadbolt lock from the inside and or security chain.
The door gasket casing on one side was falling off. The curtains on main window are too long, when we turned the heat on we had to tuck the curtain up into the window sill so heat would blow into room.
Only gave us on Keirug coffe pod per guest and none for next morning.
Couldn’t find a 2 double bed option on website vs. a 2 queen , so I think I paid more.

Misleading room description - mediocre room
Jun 2021Really, the only good thing to say about the hotel was that the small fridge worked well (very cold!) and there were a lot of satellite channels available on the TV
The room listings on Booking.com are misleading. The "Queen" room is shown as containing many features that are only available to a few higher-priced rooms that must be booked directly. Thus, our room did not have the promised kitchenette with kettle, utensils etc. When questioned about this the owner said it was an inadequacy of the Booking.com system, but was not apologetic. So, unfortunately this has not put me in a good frame of mind. Mattresses were tired and the room was not cleaned between nights on a two-night stay. Had to request a refill of the two paper coffee cups and soap and shampoo. WIFI had poor reception.

Basic amenities. No maid service due to Covid, and we weren’t offered clean towels, garbage removal etc for our second night. Bath very slippery and dangerous for taking a shower.

I couldn't see myself in the mirror over the sink. It was a little too high and I am a little too short (5'2"). A peep hole in the front door might be a good idea too.

Bathroom felt like an outhouse it was so small. The grout was dirty looking. Live in tenants hanging around outside made the stay uncomfortable.

Sep 2022Best value in town. Location ideally located for exploring quaint town of Westport (5 minute walk from the town centre) and paddling on the Rideau Lakes. Large parking lot which was easily able to accommodate our two vehicles.
The booking.com listing is misleading regarding facilities. We booked this to get the kitchenette, but only some rooms have one. The room we were offered didn't. The proprietor was very kind and moved us to another room that did, but we should not have to specify something that is not listed as optional. The following were also listed as included but not provided: lake view (this is just not true), walk-in closet (it is a regular closet), carpeted (it's all tile or laminate), dining table (there were 2 dressers and one dining chair; one of the dressers could be replaced by a table and an additional chair). The following are listed as included and probably be available on request, but weren't there by default: iron, kettle, toaster (the small kitchen would be very crowded with all of these items). That said, we got a perfectly adequate motel room if you are dining out, but it is not fully equipped to cook and eat meals in comfort.
