Hotel Norbu House

This was without doubt one of the best stays we did in the last couple of years. The hotel is cozy, very well located and peaceful. From our balcony, we got to enjoy an incredible sunrise and sunset every day, with a view on the mountains overseeing the whole valley. A place where it is very easy to meditate, read a book, or just to spend a moment with your own thoughts. Mr Tenzin and all the staff were very caring and helpful. They helped us with logistics (big thank you also to our driver Shami), gave plenty recommendations on interesting points to visit, hikes and trails. The hotel offers amazing breakfast, with a great selection of continental and Indian cuisine. We felt better than at home and would love to return here.

This is the best 3 star hotel you can get. It has clean rooms, great view and most of all the staff is very helpful, humble and make you feel like home. The breakfast spread was really great and food quality and taste were also good. They even offered us a free bon fire. I could not have expected anything better from this hotel.

Only issue, which was very minor was the Wifi speed. But you get a good mobile data connection so it really doesn't matter.

This beautifully decorated hotel is situated close to the temple and main streets but is in a very quiet location. The view is fantastic. The room was warm and very clean with good, hot showers. And the breakfast which was included in the Tarif was abundant. The staff are extremely helpful particularly Tenzin in reception - nothing was too much trouble. He helped organise taxis, airport transfers as well as a couple of sightseeing trips with Sonu, a local guide from Tours by Native who was very professional - also highly recommended. A great place to stay!

The views from the balcony, service and breakfast buffet

-The view from the room were magnificent - The Front Desk Staffs were very helpful and friendly. He even lend us an umbrella and advised us where to go for sightseeing. -We extended one more night- total staying here for two nights. - The room service food were sumptuously delicious. We ordered continuously to the room every night for dinner. Love the momo!

The very warm, helpful and attentive nature of the family who run the hotel that makes you feel immediately at home at your very first visit. This is something five star hotel staff simply cannot match, however trained. The hotel is best for those who prefer an occasional stroll around Macleodganj town without having to hail a cab every time one steps out yet with a great view of the valley facing away from the hustle and bustle. The menu is eggeterian but food is quite decent and will not leave you wanting of choices. The Tibetan owners and the motifs sure make you absorb the atmosphere and culture during the stay which is inherent to Macleodganj.

It can get a bit intrusive and noisy in the lower middle rooms that face the terrace restaurant, especially during peak occupancy.. Upper and far end rooms are much more preferable.

The staff are exceptionally warm and helpful. They are smiling and so welcoming that you feel like you have come home.

The balcony light outside the room should have individual switches so that you can turn off the lights when you feel like as oppose to having to call the staff to do it.
